Well I guess I got A gem. I am 43 and have been playing about 28 years and Yes I play out...a lot. and I love mine. I do not see any trouble or brushed on look on the finish and I know finishes, I also build furniture. I put a strap button on the neck heel of mine, that was something it needed but my alvereze Yari did not have a stray button either. Comparing the Indiana to a yari is like apples and oranges but one cost $1000.00 and the other $150.00. when I go out to play a gig I grab the Indiana...Why? Well It's got a good beat and it's easy to dance to

Been playing 28 years.
I also own 3, Alverzes (one yari) A Spencer, a morgan monroe mm-2 mandolin (made by Indiana guitar co.)
I have no problems with this guitar, It came set up great
If it were stole yes I would miss it
I like the look and the sound and easy of play.
All it needed was a strap button at the neck and Phil at Vance put one on when I brought it.
I recomend them and my son had brought one since I did because he liked it

WELL I HAVE READ ALL THE REVIEWS TO DATE.AND I MUST CONFESS I LEARNED THINGS ABOUT THE NAPPANCE NAP-CS I NEVER DISCOVERED. I AM 72 YEARS OLD JUST COMPLETED MY LATIEST COUNTRY GOSPEL CD..BILL LOOP & THE SEEKERS 'IF JUSUS KNOCKS' www.cdbaby.com/billloop I HAVE PLAYED AND OWM MOST ALL OF THE MAJOR BRAND INSTRUMENTS.I HAVE HAD A COUPLE MAJOR COMPANYS PRESENT ME GUITARS WITH MY NAME EMBEDED IN THE NECK.
NOW LETS LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE HERE..WE HAVE A LOWER PRICED FLAT TOP ELECTRIC GUITAR THAT HAS BETTER THAN AVERAGE TUNNING PEGS. YES I HAD TO SHAVE THE BRIDGE BONE SADDLE. TO GET THE PLAYING ACTION I WANTED.
BUT THE GUITAR HAD GREAT PLAYING ACTION-EXCELLANT SUSTAINING POWER-
ELECTRONIC ARE NO BETTER OR NO WORSE THAN ANY OF THE MAJOR ELECTRONICS THAT I HAVE FOUND IN MUCH HIGHER PRICED GUITARS. I USE THE GUIATR IN ALL OF MY CONCERTS. THE OUTSTANDING QUALITY IS IT'S TRUE UP AND DOWN THE NECK..''AND IT STAYS IN TUNE THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE CONCERT'' I HAVE FOUND MANY HIGHER PRICE GUITARS I COULD NOT SAY THAT ABOUT.FINISH ON THE GUITAR??? I FOUND NO BRUSH MARKS OR FINISH RUNS ON THE GUITAR..QUILTED TOP I AGREE NOT TO BE THE BEST. I WOULD HAVE PREFERED A NATUAL FINISH. MAYBE MY NEXT ONE WILL BE THAT.
GUYS DON'T LOOK A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH. YOU GOT A $150.00 DOLLAR GUITAR THAT WOULD COST YOU 6 TO 8 HUNDRED DOLLARS OF A MAJOR BRAND MAKE TO DUPLICATE. ENJOY IT. DON'T DESTROY IT. BILL LOOP

Sound : 10
I USUALLY PLAY THRU THE MAIN PA HEAD AND LET MY ENGINEER CONTOL TONE AND SOUND BALANCE ..WORKS VERY NICELY.. IT HAS A RICH FULL TRUE FLAT TOP SOUND TO IT. NO COMPLAINT.. I CAN ADJUST TO MAKE IT SOUND LIKE A JAZZ ARCHTOP GUITAR SOUND TO THE BRASSY SCRATCHY SOUNDS OF JOHNNY CASH.TAKE YOUR PICK.I FEEL THAT WITH EVERY GUITAR SOLD YOU SHOULD INCLUDE AND EXTRA BRIDGE SADDLE BONE. I CUT MINE A LKITTLE TO LOW AND HAD TO SHIM IT.THIS IS A GREAT GUITAR.YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEND A LOT MORE TO GET ANYTHING TO DUPLICATE OR BETTER THE SOUND. AND THE PLAYING ACTION CAN BE SET TO PLAY LIKE A 3500 DOLLAR ARCH TOP GUITAR.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
it was set up for the average picker.and the pick ups were set to proper resonance.Bridgw was routed and alignment was fine.i would have prefered a sunburst or maple finish on the guitar.I have found no flaws of any kind..I AM TRUELY SURPRISED ABOUT THE SUSTAINING RESONANCE OF THE GUITAR. IT APPEARS TO HAVE A MUCH THICKER WOOD IN THE CONTSTRUCTION..WHICH BY ALL MEANS SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THE GUIAT A LIFELESS SOUNDS. BUT NOT SO..WHAT EVER THEY ARE DOING IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE GUITAR.. YOU'VE GOT A GOOD PRODUCT.. DON'T MESS WITH IT TO MUCH. ITS GOOD.

Reliability/Durability : 10

AS WELL AS USING THEIR EQUIPMENT 'WHICH' THEY FURNISHED ME.AND I WAS GIVEN CREDIT TO BOASTING SALES OF THEIR PROIDUCTS.

Nice inexpensive guitar. This is my first guitar after a 12 year break.
Has an active bridge pickup with a 3 band pre-amp. Nice looking although the quilt leaves something to be desired from close up. Finish is brushed on but could be made smooth very easily with minor sanding and buffing. (not bad enough to concern myself with) Tuners are solid.

Sound : 9
Love the sound! Resonates fabulously and is excellent for country rock rythem and fingerpicking. Sounds great straight or plugged in. I don't know what strings it came with but it really sounds great with the elixer's I put on it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Truss rod was way to tight. Buzzed terrible on the low E when I got it.
Adjusted the truss rod and restrung it and it sounds grear. Binding on neck saddle is rough and the fretboard had epoxy on it from installing the frets. Some cleanup work when I changed the strings and a good setup and I'm very happy with it. Quilt pattern is fake but looks decent from 5 feet. My non-guitar buddies think it is beautiful.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I honestly think this guitar would stand live playing. The hardware is great and I think it is very dependable. The finish is thin enough to make this gutar look old in just a few years and it could use a strap button at the neck

Customer Support : No Opinion
Although I have not had any contact with the company the guitar is warrantied for ten years.

Overall Rating : 8
overall I like this guitar. I play it more than my new electric Ibanez and I would be upset if it were stolen. I don't remember if it comes in a plain finish. If so that would be my only change from what I purchased.

For the money... it's an electric acoustic with an active pickup and seemingly smooth stable tuners. The 'quilted top' is about as bad a 'picture' of quilted wood as I've ever seen.

Sound : 9
I'm giving this guitar a 9 on sound based soley on its 150 dollar price. The ONLY thing that impressed me was how well the guitar resonated. It really probably is a spruce top under the horrid graphic 'quilt pattern'.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
guitar is binded and has some nice fretwork.
however the 'highgloss' finish is brushed on... complete with a couple runs that were chipped off around the soundhole right out of the box. Action? guitar truss rod was sinched down so the neck had NO RELIEF yet the action is still close to 1/4" at the 12th fret.
Did I mention the horrid 'quit' patter?

Reliability/Durability : 4
I don't see this guitar lasting very long or putting up with much abuse / temperature changes, etc...

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

I've been playing for about 13 years.. though there's a 7 year gap in there. I'm a grab-ass-tic player.. round the house.. with neighbors.. in basements.. I don't really 'gig' per-say..
I'm a big fan of seeing what I can get for my buck. I'm in LOVE with my $300 crafter acoustic..my Raven PRS knock-off... and my japeneze strat.. so I'm not a gear-snob.
This guitar was bought for my son, who already has a nylon string acoustic and a squier strat.
Given the way these things were presented.. I really expected better. but what do you expect for 150 bucks I suppose? what bugs be is that the guitar appears to be made of quality materials and has good potential... (I was very suprised at the smooth tuners and the good sound) if it weren't slapped together with poor neck-geometry and a brush on finish complete with drips that have been chipped-off and touched up with something.
They make other models though.. I'd skip the quilt pattern.. .not worth it. and who knows.. you might get lucky with the neck.
