as stated before; lp copy, gold top, brown stained, setup like a lp standard, etc...it's a lp copy. It's very light! compared to my epi lp custom, it's extremely light ( epi is heavy as hell)! I've played a gibson lp custom in store couple days ago and it was just as light as the indiana...so that's a good thing to know! just a practical lp copy

this guitar is just as good as my epi. it's awesome for the price. alot of the problems ppl are complaining about are very, very petty, and most can be solve with modifications. it's a 1/2 thinner, but doesn't affect the sound, pickups sound great. the necks feels so good, one the best necks i've ever played on....very comfortable! no noise from p/u's, actually alittle cleaner than standard p/u in my other lps. i use a digitech gnx3 into 2 marshall mg100dfx full stacks i can get any sound i want from this guitar. just wish it was a custom instead of a standard. more than worth the price!

this is the thing that separate me from everyone else here: I brought mine out of a store, so it was already setup when i brought it....that's one of the reasons i brought it, it felt so nice in my hands. the action is very good, they did a great job on it (whoever they were). don't really see any defects or blemishes on the guitar, so i'm lucky. only thing is that the pickup switch feels flimsy and cheap. very easy to fix, other than that no problems great guitar!

it will last, especially if you take care of your guitars. very good hardware, good finish (wish it was a darker gold), very dependable! It's my second go to guitar (epi is my first, it has emgs and it's a custom). i'm a lp addict, can't get enuff! I love customs alittle more but if it's a lp, it's for me. i'd probably put some emgs in it and put straplocks on them, if i find another one i'd hit anyone with a brick if they got in my way of buying it!

been playin for 15 years and own a few lps and a strat, this is a true lp even if it'a not a gibson or epi. i just love how good the neck feels, i can play forever on that thing. it just a good as my epi lp custom....blow for blow! just wish it was a darker gold color and a better p/u switch other than that-just greatness. So remember, the moral of the story is: that just b/c its cheap doesnt mean it's crap. try before buy ppl. u'd b amazed how some of the low budget products compete, even outdo the leading name brand products (for instance...Behringer)! Overall great deal, great investment, great guitar! I'm out 5000!

Not sure of year. Les Paul style with unrealistic gold top with tons of finish flaws. 2 humbuckers that are extremely noisey and squeel like pigs. Mahogany with mystery wood. Cheap Chinese Kluson style tuners that are already lose and don't hold tunings. These guys made a Les Paul copy but forgot one of the tone knobs. It only has three knobs. LOL

Like I said about the pickups are noisy and squeel. They call them Spitfire but they are a common Chinese humbucker used in many guitars. They look good, but if you look real close you can see that even the chrome plating is cheap.

There was no setup at all. Action sucked. In fact it looked like it was tossed in the box without anybody checking it out. The strings are junk. Even after adjusting everything it sounded and played horible. The pickup routes are actually a bit larger than the pickup rings leaving gaps on each side. The hardware is the cheapest metal I have seen and the plastic has an ugly almost pink look to it. Not cream at all. The bridge and stop tail anchores are lose too. The holes were drilled too large. In fact with the guitar tunes to pitch the tailpiece anchores are coming out of the holes.

Not a chance I would use this live or recording. In fact I'm giving it to my 7 year old nephew since it is essentially a toy. I did plan to return it, but more on that under customer support.

I bought this guitar from Terry at Indianaguitarman.com When I received the guitar I found all of these flaws and told Terry about it. His excuse was "Sorry to hear that. They were drop shipped straight from the manufacturer and we didn't get a chance to look at them before they were sent. Just send back the guitars in the same box they were sent to you and we will replace them. Ship them UPS ground insured". Now he won't reply after several days about whos paying return shipping. They drop shipped them and didn't get a chance to check them out? What bull$%^&! Keep ignoring me Terry.

Based on the poor quality of this guitar and the piss poor customer service I would highly recommend against buying one. The parts are also a proprietary size, so swapping them out won't be an easy task for the average person. It's shame these guys sell crap them ignore their customers. For all I know they may have a good guitar somewhere that went through quality control, but I guess I'll never find out. This one is sure a mess. Anybody feel free to contact me. I have emails and a purchase invoice to prove I do in fact own this piece of $%^& and the customer service sucks.

I'm believe it's made in 2005 being that I bought it new in early 2006. 22 fret, rosewood board with finish overspray on it. Frets will cut you to death if you don't have them filed on the edges. They claim the pickups are "Spitfire" but they are the exact same cheap Chinese made pickups used on the Stellar and other guitars made by the exact factory in China. The metal hardware is about as cheap as it gets. Three was was coming apart whan I received the guitar. Fat almost unplayable neck profile.

Honestly anybody that thinks these pickups sound good doesn't have a clue about good tone. I couldn't bear to play it more than one minute.

As stated earlier there was finish on the Rosewood board. Also I was dumb enough to buy two of these, one black and one gold. The gold has more finish flaws than I care to count. All of the hardware both plastic and metal are extremely cheap. The electronics are crap. The plastic is supposed to be cream but it is a nasty salmon color. Very uggly on the eyes. The body and neck woods appear to be OK, so if you completely strip this guitar and start from scratch you might have a decent guitar. but let me warn you from experience, most standard Les Paul parts will not fit this toy. The pickup rings are oversized and the pickguards are smaller than standard.

If yuo leave it stock it won't last long. If your dumb enough to gigi with it without a backup you'll be sorry.

Considering these guys took my $500 then sent me two piece of shit guitars without so much as looking them over before shipping them to me shows what a joke of a company this is. Send them back at my expense? Yeah, right. Dumb Hicks!

I realize these rating may seem extreme to some but these guitars are extremely crappy. Some previous posters seem to like them, but I liked my cheap guitars when I had no clue either. Let me add that the so called free cases are garbage as well. Stellar makes this same guitar in the same factory for $199 with an SKB type case and they go through quality control. Something obviously lacking at Indian Guitar Company. I'll give it a 3 overall even though it's a HUNK OF JUNK.

I am not sure of the year, but I know it is an oversee's model. 22 frets. Nice top, much better than any of the Ephiphone modles and as good as some of the Gibson models I have seen recently at our Local Guitar C*****. Les Paul set up on tones, volumes and selector. The pickups sound as good as my LP. I would compair to a PAF. The body seems to be mohagany. The body shape is like my USA model. Nice finish. The bridge is like a tone pros/tune o matic style bridge. All the hardware on the guitar is old. I have used i to gig quite frequently and have been using as my main axe. Arpegeo's are at ease thru out the rosewood fingerboard. The tuners look to be Grover's but have a German name on them. They stay in tune perfect.

I use Riveria Nuckelhead tube heads, Marshall JCM 800's and Marshall 900;s thru 4X12 Celestion cabnets. I only use a lexicon reverb and true tone (no pedals). I get a Full Ballsy sound from the pickups and when I compair to my USA I can not tell the diffrence. I perfer play procise and fast when needed. I use jazz cording and can get a ultimate Paul clean tone.

I have changed the strings to earny ball 9's and the action is so low, I just had to raise it. No fret buzz. I slightly adjusted the neck from the box and it is set up as good as my USA if not better. The only flaw I can see is that the guitar was not set up from the manufacturer. The hardware has all the proper screws. It took me 15 minutes to change the strings and raise the action. If you like low action with no buzz, this guitar holds it's own. It

Played 10 venues and 12 studio seasions. I have left my axe for other artists to use and they all want to buy it from me. If I could find another I would. I guess there are only a few left on the market. I see this finish holding up. I am impressed that the gold hardware stands up to 2 hour sweet live performances. Really you guys. This is something else when I can buy a guitar of such quality for under $400.00.

No contact with manufacturer. No need for repairs. This is a work horse. Anybody with any common scence who can play and set up there own guitar has a keeper. If you take it out of the box with out setting it up, you sould take 10 minutes to get it set to your own spec's. If I lost this guitar I would buy another without a blink of an eye. Why spend $600.00 to $6000.00 when this guitar does the job and more. This is my happyest purchase in 5 years. I paid $399.95 plus tax on sale. I save hundreds of dollors and walked away with a keeper.

I play 6 hours a day 5 days a week. 35 years teaching and playing professionally. Stolin, I would hunt down another one. I sudjest if your a guitar player that cant set up his guitar you might want to bring it in for set up. I love the weight and easy access to the 22 fret in cording and 20th positions. If you can come across one of these buy it. If the action is high, take a screw driver and lower the action. I wish I could find another.

ok, this is a brand new st. paul model which is a les paul copy. it's made in china, 22 frets, thinner neck profile, typical les paul set up. 2 "spitfire" nickle covered humbuckers, look and sound like PAF gibson 'buckers.
i am told this guitar is made of mahogany, but i can't tell. it's a goldtop guitar with a sparkly yellow-gold top and dark dark brown stain on the back. i cant see the woodgrain through the dark-ass stain, so i dont know if it's mahogany or not. it's light as all getout though...between 5-8 pounds. feels like it could blow away. bound the same as a lp standard. pretty much has the same dimensions of a LP standard, but the body is a bit thinner--about 1/2 thinner actually.

sounds...meh. it's not super-thick, which again leads me to think it's not mahogany. it's pretty thin, but then again this thing was dirt cheap. i m planning on modifying it greatly.
as it stands, the spitfire pickups are pretty thin sounding and not to sparkly clean. they have alright bassy chunk when distorted (i play metal of all kinds, mainly doom/stoner now and arpeggio clean.)set on trebble, though, you get significant volume loss.
anyway it doesnt sound AWFUL or anything, and it could merely be a matter of taste. i have a pearly gates i m going to but in the bridge to see what happens.

man, i have to be honest--this thing was tossed together by some retarded monkies i think. attention to detail was NOT paid.
now i will say this: my model is actually a factory second, and i got it at a discounted price. that's the only reason i was willing to try a no-name LP copy that i've never heard of or seen in person off the net. it's DEF work the money i paid, no question.
this has a paint "shadow" on the top-butt of the guitar that runs down the curve of the body, just past the strap button (it's right under where your picking arm lays on the guitar, so it's not really visible). anyway it's just a run of a bit darker colored paint. not too much of a big deal, but the rest of the guitar isnt a gem, exactly. the finish on the back is superdark, and i was convinced it was just brown paint instead of stain until i saw juuuust a touch of grain shining through on the back of the headstock.
the binding is off in places--as in it doesnt match up on the edges. there are dark spots here and there under the clear coat, and the hardware seems really flimsy. the plastic pickup rings are bent askew, and as is the toggle switch and pickgaurd. ???
oh...haha...and the trapazoid inlays arent pearl or even pearloid...they are just a silvery white acrylic or something. i have no idea...
the nut is wider than the neck.
face it, it's a budget guitar.
dont get me wrong, i sure the hell got my 175 bucks' worth. but it's not a something i would show off for it's aesthetics.

no way i would gig with this thing without a backup. infact, if anything this thing WOULD be my backup.
i think the tuners are ok, but i wouldnt trust them to stay in-tune with a good hard playing.
this whole contraption feels...cheap. it IS a cheap guitar. but i have a cheap S series ibanez that feels like a grand. this thing feels like it's plastic. i ve never felt a lighter les paul.

well, ive recently had the greatest epiphany about guitars. i m a les paul LOVER, but gibsons are so $$$. i got 2 tokai love rocks and a real deal gibson LP classic all at the same time...and i never could put the tokais down. the gibson...it just doesnt touch me the same way. plus i paid so much for it i m actually afraid to play it. so now i am selling off all my gibsons and replacing them with as many greco, burny, tokai, and over NICE brand set neck LP copies as i can. as a young, giggin, POOR musician, i cannot see a better way. these copies can be as good or better than gibsons but at a fraction of the cost.
this indian st paul was a whim purchase. i learned of their existance and bought one all in the same week, and without ever seeing one in real life. for the money, i figured it was worth the risk.
i am not let down.
i graded this thing honestly--it's not a stunning upscale copy. it's a budget, cheap guitar. but it's made of supposedly great wood and is made to gibson specs. i personally could care less about tiny finish flaws. i dont like feeling as if my guitar is too valuable to really dig in to. this thing will be a nice ax with a little tweeking. i m cutting into the headstock to resculpt it as a gibson-style open book, and putting a veneer on it so it looks like a gibson (so i m a brand-fag, so what?!?)
these things are fun and cheap, and i m actually going to recommend them. unlike most reviewers, i m not giving an arbitrary "overall" rating--this is actually an average of all the other categories, which is what overall SHOULD be.
but for the money, this thing should get a 10. it's a great value. perfect for starters or pros who want a replica they can mess with without feeling like they're modding a ferrari.
