I paid 288? for this one..It's a chinese guitar with 22 frets, Les Paul shape but alder made.. and with a maple set-neck ( wood "a la Fender" ) with a plus: the carved top..and.. BACK TOO!! Not so heavy like a Gibson and with the back shape is just very good!!

...well..about the original sound i don't know the way it's sounds.. because I replace the original pickups (without listen) with 2 seymour duncans (SH5B and SH2N)..and... WWOOWW... I love the sound!! I use digitech 2120 (valve preamp) with a marshall 8008 (transistor amp with valve emulation) through (sorry about my english!) a modded 1960 cab (oversized like a Mesa-Boogie) I can play the most beautifull jazz sound and the the most powered new-metal song to!! I can have a bright sound or if I want go into Dark sound!! like I say, I don't try the original PU's but with this ones she sounds great!!! I have pay 288? for the guitar + 180? for the seymour's and now i have a guitar who cost me under 500? who sounds like a 1500? guitar..

The set-up from factory is great..like buy&play.. the bridge, the pickups. everything is in place.. one thing about this guitar: It comes with 0.09 D'addario strings from factory!!! (Great!) I replace them just because i use another gauge.. the only this that I have to say is the pickgard..the part next to the neck have a little damage..but this is just in this one... no noise from the pots or the selector.. no buzz at all..

I have play over the years on many things... the neck is like a gibson neck, the intonation is great.. I have a 0.10 / 0.52 string gauge and it's still easy to play... the finish is awesome.. (for the price it's 180%).. with a beautiful black sunburst with gold hardware... nothing to say.. If I can depend on it? YES!! I play a lot In concerts and I use it without backup!!

..Well.. before buying this one I send an Email to the J&D.. asking about the wood they use to make their guitars..and they send me another 2 days after... is just the only time that I have needed help from them...

I play about 10 years.. and I have 1 Gibson Studio..1 Epiphone Nighthawk ST3 (great guitar too for the price!!) I buy this one because I want to sound and look like a Gibson... but also sound like a Fender.. so.. this one is perfect!! And now it's my main gear!! I use it without backup...
