Made in 2000 and obviously of Japanese origin due to its unpopularity amoungst guitar "gurus". Solid ash body telecaster shape fitted with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Despite the low price of the axe it is quite heavy. It runs a standard 22 fret neck with about a 9.5" radius. Usual telecaster setup 3-way selector switch, S/S pickups, plain white scratch plate, 3 piece bridge intonation. Pickups are japanese made but are wound quite well and give the standard telecaster resistance when tested. It uses standard passive controls. 250K pots and greencaps. The only fault with the electronics is that there was a bypass capacitor across the volume control. This caused the control to go from nothing to full in a quater of a turn and no change over the rest of the turn. Cutting this off fixed the problem straight away. The body is finished quite well with a three tone sunburst colour. The bridge although being only a three piece was a through body mount giving it a nice rich tone. The standard tuning keys are identical to the ones fitted to the Fender Squires. Came with no accessories, although a bit of bargaining resulted in a strap and lead. All in all a good buy I'd say.

Sound : 10
It was bought to play the country music circuit in Australia and fits the bill perfectly. Even after removing the volume bypass capacitor it lost no treble response at all and has very even tone control. It has the typical buzz of cheap guitars but with a bit of work it was fixed for about $1.00 Aus. Produces a beautiful rich sound aven when compared to a genuine '62 Telecaster. After fitting a six piece bridge unit it became even better to play as each strings height and intonation became very exact. Having a through body string mounting gives it its nice tones. It suites what I bought it for perfectly.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The factory setup was quite ordinary really. It needed some work to get it playing well. The front pickup was terrible but after modifying the mounting setup it is now better than some real Fender Telecasters. Finish and fret filing was really good. All controls and switches are great even though they aren't of the "guitar geniouses" choice. Alround a very well finished product but like anything other than custom built it will need changing.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have and will continue to use this guitar live due to the fact that it plays well and other players always come and ask hove I got a guitar of this relatively poor recognition to sound so damn good. It has never clicked, buzzed or completely stopped at any time and I don't see it doing so at all. Well mounted strap buttons and other fittings. I have and will continue to use this guitar without a backup. I won't stand for having an instrument that I can't depend on.

Customer Support : 9
No manufacturer support at all. Only because I wasn't givin any contact information by the dealer although any problems that I might have I know that the dealer has a very reliable repair service. It comes with a two year warranty.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing for ten years and if this guitar were stolen I would buy another due to its brillant sound and low price. Compared to a Squire Telecaster it wins hand down. Weight, sound, finish and price.
