This guitar has a sunburst finish, black pickguard and chrome hardware. It has three single coil pickups, a standard strat bridge, and your other usual strat features.

The neck is a medium C-shape with 21 frets. The neck appears to be rosewood on maple, though I'm unsure about the body. The body wood is dark brown, and fairly heavy.

Sound : 9
This guitar sounds absolutely amazing. In every pickup position and with any amplifier, it has a musical and beautiful tone. It has both the warmth and the bite, and it will sing if you want it to. Many guitars won't do this!

When i had it, i used it trough a Marshall 5010 amp.

This guitar is warmer and more musical sounding than Fender strats, without being muddy. It will do Santana, Blackmore, Satriani, AC\DC, about anything. Very versatile.

The only thing it didn't do well, is the thin, bitey blues tones. It's just too thick and creamy sounding to do that.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The fit and finish was just as good, if not better, than most other strats i've tried (including Fenders). I don't know how it was set up at the factory. The guitar did not have any flaws. The sunburst finish is beautiful and fades nicely, and the frets are medium\small and super smooth.

One thing I'd like to point out, is the pickup selector switch. One day it started crackling, and when I removed the pickguard to look at the switch, I were pleasantly surprised to find the quality of the switch being very good. J&D didn't use the standard, shitty thin type, but instead they have used a very sturdy and solid kind, that I haven't seen on other guitars.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Never had a problem with it. It looks like it'll survive tens of generations.

I've been playing for 14 years now, and I play bass and keyboards\piano as well. I currently own a Squier bass and a Ibanez guitar, that in comparison to the J&D, is absolutely horrible.

The J&D guitar I'm reviewing is NOT my guitar, but I used it as my main guitar for several years, borrowing it from my uncle. If I ever see one of these guitars for sale, I'm sure as heck going to buy it.

It's probably the best guitar I've ever played on, and as a bonus it's also a VERY cheap guitar.

Well, as it's already mentioned in previous reviews, this guitar is a Les Paul Custom clone. Made in Taiwan. Mine has a white finish and gold-plated hardware, which is the reason why I call it Blondy. :) As far as I'm concerned, body and neck are made of mahogany, fretboard is Rosewood with white perloid inlays. It also has a black-white-black pickguard, black cylindric pots. Looks great. Its head even has this weird shape, almost like an original Gibson LP, so I doubt that during live performance anyone would be able to tell whether or not this axe is genuine Gibson.
Great looks, all the classic features.

Sound : 7
The sound. It was awful, when plugged in! Weak, dull, squeeling... I had to take out the pickups unsolder the cover, waxdip the bobins, put the cover back, wax-dip again, solder the cover to the base... Having done that I was amazed and totally blown out with the sound it delivered! The pickups are based on Alnico magnets, have vintage output and properly waxed deliver nice PAF-like tone. The guitar sounds sweet, got a pretty wide dynamic range, but lacks sustain.

Out of the box it deserves no more than 3, having worked on it it scores 10. Having that in mind I give it 7.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The factory set-up wasn't great either. I had to adjust scale, action, truss-rod in order to match my demands for playability. I also had to file frets a little. All the flaws may make you wanna hunt for a better built instrument. But I must admit that these tweaks ain't no big deal at all. Took me less than an hour. So ig you got brains and hands you may eventually find yourself being happy with an excelent guitar that looks and performs like some major brands' products at no extra cost. It's up to you, but I don't regret time and money spent on it.
Action, Fit, & Finish are OK. And simply great for the price.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Used it in live performances. But once again, don't try it live right out of the box, or you'll be bitterly disappointed. Slightly tweaked it's a very reliable and great sounding istrument, otherwise - it's a piece of crap. It's the little things, remember? :)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have no idea if there is any customer support, wouldn't contact them anyway.

I play more than fifteen years. During this period I covered many styles, from contemporary christian music through rock, blues, jazz, metal. There's only one thing this guitar cannot do for me - it's the whammy bar tricks. :) Just kidding. You wouldn't expect it to sound like a Strat or Tele, which is the sound I'm not after.
Generally now I'm happy with it, BUT I had to fix some flaws it had when I bought it brand-new. Soundwise it totally puts away my other guitar of the far superior quality, Ibanez RG620. Now it's my favorite axe. I plan to change stock pickus in my Ibanez in order to make it sound better or at least as good as this guitar.
I also compared it with Gibson Les Paul Classic, for which its owner paid almost 3000 USD and mine sounds almost just as good, but as I mentioned, has a little less sustain. Once again, don't try to compare these two in a music store, the difference will be huge! :)

No idea when built; late '90s by the look. Strat shape and dimensions; same weight as a strat (=too heavy for me); H S S passive no names; standard trem bridge;1 volume & 2 tone; cheap hardware all round, no idea what wood but it looks and feels fantastic- thats why i bought it; two -piece timber body (solid); normal scale and frets

Sound : 8
All the p/ups sound roughly like their fender equivalents; neck ones good but could do with more sustain; bridge is very, very bright (i like it). setup: JEN 1971 Crybaby Wah (my baby), Boss OS2 distortion/overdrive, Ibanex DML10 (combination delay/chorus/mod/flanger/phaser- check those out!) and Peavey Studio Pro. Other guitar includes ancient Ibanez strat copy (that they will bury with me) and fender tele (thats up for grabs when i die). The J&D (esp on the bridge) fits perfectly

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Was pretty good. 2nd hand but i dont think the guy who owned it beforte me had it for long. Intonation was shocking but action and truss were good.

Reliability/Durability : 10
one thing that has to be said is its durable. i feel luike this guiatr will take anything, although i'm pretty good with them. NEVER GIG WITHOUT A BACKUP!!! its asking for trouible

have been playing for 13 years and play in originals band playing light grungy rock. i have a bad arm so i'm fussy about which guitars will be playable for me. it is nothing great but great for the money and it will do the job. extra points for the bright humbucker!
