Sound : 10
Incredible sustain. I have a Les Paul Custom and a custom Telecaster with DiMarzio humbuckers, and I don't play them anymore. I play the Nunis straight into a Marshall JCM 900 combo amp with no other effects most of the time. It has a deep, rich sound like other "thicker" guitars, but with tons of attack. It's punchy and cuts through the mix. Hard to describe, but it is definitely unique.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I was sold on Mr. Nunis making me a guitar when he showed me the "wood pile". He hand selects each piece, even weighing them. Until you've had a guitar built from scratch, and actually seen the chunks of wood before the thing is crafted, you have not truly loved a guitar. Anyway, after some suggestions from Jim on the best pieces available, I settled on the Honduras mahogany because he said it was the lightest wood and will create the most sustain. He was right. It's even loud when it's not plugged in.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have not had this guitar but about 6 months, but it is like the day I bought it. When you pick it up, you know you are holding a quality instrument. I am pretty sure I'll pass this one on to my kids.

Customer Support : 10
I've had no need to call for customer support. However, I did call an order another one. The other one is gold and came with a gold tweed case with red velvet interior. It looks so good, I just leave it in the case with the top open and stare at it. When I ordered it, I talked to Mr. Nunis himself, so I would say you can get no better customer service that that. He later told me if I wanted to change anything on it, just let him know. I think I'll call another guitar maker with their name on the headstock and see if they'll change out my pickups.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing 30 years. I have a Les Paul Custom, a Fender Custom Shop telecaster, a Fender Strat, a Martin HD28, and a couple of low budget instruments. If either of my J. Nunis guitars were stolen or lost, I would have a ball going through the wood pile again. My favorite thing about them is the playability. The thing I like least about them is that they spoil me. When I play another guitar, I get sloppy.
