Made in china in 04. JB EA-35 accousic electric setup with " Realm 2 Pick up ,and on board tunner. Sort of a burnt magogany burst.Cimmanon color.Laminated top. Nice rosette. No pick guard.Chrome tunners. Side dot inlays.
Shape looks like a dreadnaught that was smooched into the body neck first. Making a cool egonomic shape and decreasing the overall size. Very cool. I say ergo because its girl friendly ( boobs)

The frets needed a bit of work. The action was a tad high.So I tweaked the nut and saddle. Love it now.The tunning pegs are so so. Properly tightened they hold fine.Ill toss the nut and bridge eventually but I LIKE the way this guitar plays and feels as is.Not overly finished... very unansumming but the TONE is there. I cant say enough about how well this guitar fits me.Feels right sounds right.

Yes it will sound good live. The finish IS a bit light but it make s up for it in sound. Treat it right and it will last.Solid strap buttons. On board tunner does drop tune and all easily. it all works.

The problem with the neck I mentioned in my previous entry went away. I don't know how, why, or wtf, but it did. I sighted the neck again and it was straight. I did nothing to it but play it. After the neck straightened itself out, I strung it with a lighter gauge string (.010) and this has helped playability a lot, while also brightening up the tone a bit.

Still not sure about this area, but it seems to be holding together rather well.

I am an eclectic player. I play blues, country, rock, ska, and my own blend of those and some others. I find this guitar to be good most of the time. See next entry for details.

Brand new: great guitar.
A year old: what a piece.
Finish is nice, the sunburst is easy to mess up. This company didn't. I loved this guitar in the store, but I already got a warranty replacement, new model year, and I have the same problems as I had with the first one. The neck warps at the heel, so if you never plan to play past the 9th fret, go for it. I only have problems between 11 and 15, but the guitar is only a year old and I don't know how much further it will degrade. It sounds GREAT plugged in, the magnetic pickup provides a great body while the piezo gives definition. With the blend slider you can dial in any combination that fits your style. It plays pretty easy, and sounds good natural as well. If you want a good backup for direct recording, cowboy chords, slide, or something to take to the beach, this is good, but for your main acoustic axe, I would suggest to find the model that had the pressure fitting for the magnetic pickup and try to fit the electronics to a Yamaha, Fender, Sammick, anything else. It falls out of tune easily, but when in tune it sounds wonderful.

Fragile. Do not handle, store, look at funny, or otherwise expose to scrutiny. Will not stay in tune longer than 2 songs. Good thing it has that built in tuner.

Warranty replacement of my first one was a nightmare. It took me 4 MONTHS to get it replaced. You HAVE to go through the store you bought it from, which can be a pain in the arse if you like the guy wo runs the store on anything approaching a personal level.

I've been playing for 18 years, and have a 50 year old Harmony that stays in tune better than this, and it's coming apart at the neck joint. I wish I had asked if they had ANYTHING else that sounded half way decent plugged in, and played ok. I would definitely buy something else if it were lost or stolen. I chose it because I hate piezo pickups. They sound like the guitar is made of plastic covered styrofoam in general. I wish the neck were made better. That would put this guitar at a solid 8. (the base of the body tends to dig into my forearm while sitting. If the bridge were moved 3 inches foreward it would be a 9.) It's not totaly worthles, I give it a 10 for salvageable parts just for the electronics, but the construction brings it down con siderably.

I am a beginner looking to get away from electric and test the realms of acoustic and so far i have been happy. The sound was horrible with the stock strings but we all know how those can b. Replaced the strings to elixer lights and love the sound. Its no Taylor but for the $175 i paid for it its awsome. The bass lacks a little bit but the highs are nice and sharp. Once i plug it into my amp it sounds pretty bad. Im not sure wat it is but i dont like the sound coming out of the amp. Flaws in the pickup sound will lower the score but still for a laminated spruce top this thing is great.

The action was very good coming when i bought it but i still think i will have it set up just because the action could be better. The finish was beautiful. Nice crimson red with a brown tortise shell pickguard. The inlay could be better but i can live with it.

When we were at the store i was getting a gig bag for this guitar and it didnt fit so the person that was helping us precedes to bang the guitar on the floor trying to get it into the bag(we ended up getting a new bag) well this thing held up nicly. It lost its tune but i would suspect that from being banged around on its headstock. I will have to see if this cheap guitar can stand the test of time though

This guitar was made in Asia, can't remember which country off the top of my head, and the website doesn't say. 19 frets on a bound rosewood fretboard, with a laminated spruce (?) top and mahogany back and sides. The electronics are really why I bought this guitar. It has the Barcus-Berry Realm II pickup system, which features a piezo pickup under the bridge and a curved coil pickup mounted around the neck side of the sound hole. the pre-amp features low, mid, high, presence, and blend controls, plus an on-board tuner. It has both 1/4" and balanced line-out. My example was a blue burst and came with no case. bought a gig bag though. the guitar is not full size, but bigger than 3/4. finding a hard case could prove problematic in the future, but I don't mind.

Acousticly, the guitar sounds crisp and punchy, with good clarity with all picking levels and styles. The first time I plugged it in was on stage, and my god it was wonderous! No hail on the tin pie plate! (this is my complaint about most piezo systems.)the dual outputs are nice too. I've played it through P.A.'s and amps, with no complaints on either front. the coil pickup adds depth and warmth, and reduces feedback tendency.

O.K., here's where we get a little biting in my review. I had to send the guitar back for warranty issues. the fret board had a slight burble in it causing the frets to buzz on the e and a strings around the 13th fret. i must however stress that I believe this was anomalous as I have played a couple others that showed no sign of this, and it was slight enough that I didn't notice it in the store, but like an optical illusion, once you notice it's like an itch that you can't scratch. one of the tuning keys also seemed bad, but kept the guitar in tune pretty well. Finish was by no means perfect, very close inspection showed signs of an automated finishing process, but looks good from more than about 2 feet away. Action was very good.

This is a hard one to answer, as I only had it a few weeks and haven't gotten my new one yet. The general opinion is that I will get a replacement, and they have changed a few things on the new model so I will post another review on that one, but my impression is that it is a solid instrument for the money. I did play it in a few small bars with no problems, seems like it will last a long time with minimal fuss.

I contacted the company about my warranty issue and was told I'd have to go through the store I bought it from, and it took him a few weeks to get a straight answer. I called customer service again and wasa transferred to the customer support supervisor who was litteraly horrified to hear of my problems and promptly set up for the guitar to be shipped to them the next day. I was informed it may take some time to take care of the warranty issue, and I believe I just had bad luck. Bottom line: Musicorp's customer support is good, but your local music store is potentialy a weak link.

I have been playing for 18 years, and I own 2 Fenders (Frankenstein Strat, and Mexican Tele), a Sebring 335 copy (actualy it's a copy of an Epiphone Casino, but this site calls it a 335 copy), and a vintage ('56-'59 as far as I've been able to nail it down) Harmony Monterey archtop acoustic. If stolen or lost I would most definitely buy another one. I like the tone and playability, the bridge is a little far back on the body owing to the scale of the body, but takes minimal getting used to. I chose it for the electronics, loved it for what it was, and am waiting with anticipation for the call from my music store to come pick up my new one. Thought I should warn of my experiences though. one final thing: most acoustic players would probably never have noticed the burble due to it's placing, and I was willing to live with everything else. However, it was a brand new instrument and should have been defect free.
