Made overseas 2003. Typical Les Paul style body. 22 fret on black ebony fingerboard. Two humbuckers, one volume, one tone knob, and 3 way switch.
Have the transparent red finish that actually very very nice. Standard chrome hardware.

Sound : 5
Has the potential being a pretty solid guitar. When play on clean not too bad. Put a little distortion on it and the all the strings hum real bad. Set up was very poor. Playing chords not a problem sounds really good.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Set up was bad when I got it. Took it to a tech who adjusted the neck and lowered the action and reset a couple of frets. Played a whole lot easier but still getting fret buzz and vibration I believe. Had to raise it back up a bit and now not as easy to play. Saw one review about shimming the bridge which I believe it needs real bad play a couple of the mid strings and the Low E and A hum still very badly especially when you give it alittle overdrive. Problem is the tech doesnt quite know how to do that. The neck is very thin and like it alot and the finish is gorgeous. Just need to get a couple of the kinks worked out of it and it would be a solid guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Once it is set up I believe it will be a pretty solid guitar. It just isn't given the quality control it needed at the beginning.

Customer Support : 1
There isn't any customer support. Musicorps imported guitar from china so they say and it was discontinued it 2 1/2 years ago. My son actually got this for christmas for me. He bought it through a silent auction that a music store donated. It was in there shop for a long time. Their tech said it was brand new.

Overall Rating : 6
Because of poor set up and quality control I rated it a little low. But for less than 200 it is a pretty solid guitar if you can get a hold of one that was set up good from the beginning. You can still buy them on a couple of music web sites but they are all almost gone now unless you want a used one. Which might be good cause it will probably be set up pretty good. but be carefull. I still think this is a great learning/practice guitar if you can get a hold of one. Anyone know how to stop the vibration in the bridge(Top loading hardtail bridge) let me know.

Made in Indonesia approx 2002/2003. 22 Fret on an ebony fretboard. Basic Les Paul (single cutaway layout). 3 way switching with one volume and one tone knob(cheap). Dual open coil humbuckers(cheap). The finish is a beautiful black that marks easily(fingerprints). Tuners are basic plated
types.

Sound : 6
The sound is nothing special. Can of tinny. the humbuckers are of mediocre quality. At first the guitar made a horrible metal vibration noise. I had the guitar set up by a professinal and no things are better.
The bridge had to be shimmed between the sting bolts to eliminate the vibration. My style is mostly old school rock ie. AC/DC etc.
Played through my Marshall it'll get a decent distoration sound. Playing on my Roland Cube-15, I needed to ajust the equalizer to achieve something acceptable.

The factory set up was poor if it really excisted.
I had a professional luthier set it up (cost $100.00). He sanded the neck and ajusted and set the frets. Ajusted the height of the humbuckers. Also shimmed the bridge due to vibration. New strings too.
With out this the guitar would have been a really cheap beginners toy.
Now she is acceptable considering the price and for what I use it as practice tool. It stays very well in tune when playing.

Reliability/Durability : 8
So far since the set up I have had no problems.
I've had the guitar for 6 months and no problems.
It is used for practising.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them. The dealer wasn't much help though.

Overall Rating : 6
Overall considering the price and use I guess it's not so bad. Buy on Ebay though is not recommended because in this case I spent more money settin it up. Had I bought it locally the price would be higher but I would have made sure the set-up was done correctly before buying.
By the way my teenage daughter who plays mostly punk rock on a good Ibanez RG like this guitar a lot.

2002 Model. Made in Indonedia. 22 frets on an ebony fretboard. 3 way switching with one volume and one tone knob. Dual open coil humbuckers. The finish is a beautiful black, the kind of black that loves to pick up fingerprints. The bridge is very unique, hard to describe. The neck is thin and rosewood. I got a gigbag with it. It was an Xmas gift. I love it

This guitar has been able to do whatever I have wanted to with it. I play blues mixed with styles of Eddie Van Halen and some Southern rock. It gets a nice clean sound on clean and can get down and dirty even with my friend's BC Rich Warlock, a very hot sound it gets in OD. I use a crate GX15 amp with Danelectro Pastrami Overdrive and BLT slap echo. Occasionally I use a French Fries Autowah. The sound i get kicks! It's perfect

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action is very good from factory, I switched strings out right after I got it to Ernie Ball Extra Slinky 8-11-14-22-30-38. Only flaw was that there was a slight blemish under the finish. I can't notice until i get under the light.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar should last me a long long time. I plan on changing the pickups next year to some Seymour Duncan 59's. The finish should last me. I can depend on this axe to get the job done whenever it needs to be used. Nuff Said!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with JBP customer service

I've been playing for 2 years almost. This is my second guitar. At christmas, I was asking for an Epiphone Les Paul but I'm glad I got this instead. It looks great, plays great, and feels good whenever I use it. Only thing I wish this guitar had was the '59 Seymour Duncans.
