2005 USA Custom Shop. 24 Frets. Mohagony Body, Flamed Maple Top. 2 Humbuckers - Seymour Duncan Custom 5 in Bridge and 59 in the Neck position. 5 Way Switch with Coil Splitter. Neck is Bolt-On 3 Piece Maple with a Highly Flamed Maple fingerboard. It is basically a Super Strat style body type with elongated horns. Horns are bevelled for better fret access. Original Floyd Rose Trem. All gold hardware. Medium Jumbo frets. The neck is a C Shaped "meaty" neck a little larger than a Fender Strat (specified by me - I can't stand thin necks). This neck is absolutely perfect for my hands. Paint is so good the thing looks like its on fire.

This guitar is perfect for my style - instrumental shred. It is extremely articulate and punchy. Very focused with the most sustain of any guitar I have ever had. The neck pickup has insane sustain and to my suprise gets great harmonics. I'm sure a H-S-H pick up configuration would have been more versitile but I got it for what I play. I just love the sound of this thing.

I live in a cold climate and the guitar was affected by that as the set up was non-existent. The strings were bottoming out. I set up any guitar I get to my playing specs so it was no big deal - I would have set it up anyway so I am not holding that against it. Hardware, paint, tolerances - all top notch and very impressive. Now that I have it set up it is the most killer playing guitar I have ever put my hands on and I have tried most every well known high end axe out there.

The minute you touch this guitar you can feel the quality. Just amazing. Very solidly built. You could use it without a back up but as a rule I would always have a back up.

I have been playing 30 years. Once in a while you run into one of those magical guitars that comes along maybe a couple times in your life and I got lucky on this one. I love the sound and the neck is the best neck I have every played - not to mention it is a stunning guitar to look at. It is extremely articulate and has tremendous sustain - more than the neck throughs I own. I chose Jackson because they make the finest shred guitars available period. They do many things when they build their guitars that sets them apart - from the way they buff out the paint to the hardware. I have played Suhr, Anderson, Tyler, Zion, Warrior, Baker and most of the axes out there. I would take this guitar over the finest any of them had to offer.
