Basically a standard KV2 with Alder Body , Flame Maple Top. Trans Black Finish w/ gold hardware , Abalone Sharkfin , black binding, Duncans TB4/SH2 ,custom made in 2001 (Took 7 months).
The only bad thing is that it comes with only 1 allen wrench for the truss rod. No straplocks , nothing for the nuts , saddle whatsoever. Besides that , it has everthing you'll need.
Sound
:10
It's a metal guitar !!! and it sings, much better than any ESP / BC Rich I played.
I play mostly 80's metal , hard rock. The guitar is played through a rocktron voodu valve -> Mesa Rectifier w/ 4x12. It gives sound from an old school thrash metal , to the any morden extreme Metal.
Action, Fit, & Finish

It came with 9-42s , might not be everyone's choice. I personally use 10-52s. It's been set up properly when it arrived. Low action , intonated. No defects as far as i can see. It will surely improve if you setup any guitar according to your own preference.
Reliability/Durability

It just came for a while , never played live. Stays in tune even without the locking nut. It's built solid.

It's a Jackson , won't fall for another 10 years.
Overall Rating

It's an all-round metal guitar , just like any other USA jacksons. It will score a 10 for just being a great metal guitar. Might not be as good if you use it for jazz or other style (if ). So i will give it a 8 for an "overall" rating.

Custom ordered in March of 1991, it was done by July. Nowadays you'd be lucky if that happenned. Made at the Ontario, CA factory here in the U.S. of course. My first impression was that this was going to be an ultimate guitar. I custom ordered this King V after owning another one bought from Guitar Center that had been stolen.
This time it was a black finish, black hardware with a Schaller Licensed Locking Floyd, Grover tuners, 22 frets, (2) EMG 81's, single tone, single volume and 3 pos toggle switch. The finish was immaculate, a rich black color, not the cheap japanese black found on lesser axes. Bound Ebony neck (neck-thru) and headstock (inverse) and inverse sharkfin inlays, made this guitar just shine. This axe was made from three pieces, all poplar I believe. Original Jackson Case came with (not the SKB kind either) it and a letter from Grover himself, signed in ink, not a form letter!
To this day, the damn thing plays incredibly well.

The key here are the EMG-81s. I play mostly a Hard Rock/Metal style. Combining these pickups, on this guitar, with say, a Mesa Boogie Mark III or Mark IV, you will be blown away. EXCELLENT tone, natural, crunchy, full bodied. The clean tones are excellent and the neck position gives you a very good bluesy sound if you're into that.

That was a long time ago, but I don't recall having any problems with it. No flaws.

This has been my only guitar for the past 10 years. I have NEVER broken a string on stage and I can tell you that it's been on stage about 30 times or more. I beat the crap out of it, but surprisingly, the finish stays beautiful if properly taken care of. Yes, a couple of dings, nothing a black Sharpie can't hide. The most incredible part of it is the Licensed Floyd. I can play it like a madman, leave it in a case for 2 months, come back to it, play some more, and the damn thing stays in tune within a dot of center on the tuner... INCREDIBLE! I can always count on it being in tune, unless it's been set up improperly.
I replaced the strap buttons with locking ones, too mamny bad experiences there dropping guitars on the floor while playing.
I have NEVER had a backup for all the shows I have played with this guitar.

I've been playing for about 15 years now and I own no other electric guitars. I'd love to own others, but after playing this one for so long, I've become extremely picky about guitars. That's why I'm now endorsed by Jackson and they are building another one for me, this time a 7 string, also fully custom, with EMG 707s, still a King V, custom Paint, custom inlays, etc. Should be complete soon!
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A CUSTOM JACKSON GUITAR!

solid neck through all korina, 24 frets, ebony board, real floyd, dual duncan JB's, MOP inlays and logo, with hard case. Natural Korina finish, the korina kv-2 was discontinued last year, so this was a specially made guitar made to order for drum city guitar land. it has two volumes, one tone, strat style slot 3 way switch, jackson tuners, medium thin neck, bound board. USA high quality made, as far as features go, this is one bad mofo.

Well i play mostly various forms of metal (maiden to neo-shred to death to black).. uhm, the korina is real CHUNKY sounding, you really hear the wood, unlike EMGS which are sterile and would sound the same in this korina instrument, and a plywood strat copy. I dont care what the other guy on here said, emgs do not get the tone of the wood, they are sterile, and on their own.. the jb's are nice for chunky tone, i might change just cause i like hotter pickups with more balls, but they sound great, and i knew what i was getting in to with them. I play through a Mesa Boogie Dual Rec. w/ tremoverb in to a boogie 4x12, and it sounds amazing of course, why wouldnt it.i wish it came with hotter pickups, and i wish i knew more about how different pickups would react with korina... its got some variety, but nothing like a parker fly (which i have 4 of).
Action, Fit, & Finish

the set up wasnt bad, needed action lowered.. pickups were good, intonation is fine, frets are nice, finish is fabulous, gorgeous korina, nicely done clear coats, no flaws that i have noticed... or id be pretty mad.

this will withstand live playing, i put strap locks on everything. hardware seems good. i dont know what it is with jackson. all the components are top notch, and i love how they feel and look and sound, but for some reason, they never play quite perfectly, like parkers do, maybe im just spoiled by parker, dont get me wrong, she plays very nice, but if a jackson was a 95/100, a parker would be 100000000/100.. and thats no lie. I love this guitar for more tonal variety, and i love having many axes, especially something like this, but i only play parkers live, because they are perfect in any way, and also, if i chipped the v tips, id be quite mad. i would never play a gig without back up, and when i play shows, i play a parker, and have another parker for backup

the king v's have smalle frets then most jacksons, which is good, i like smaller frets. i am gonna go by a parker being a 10, dont get me wrong, usa jacksons are great, but if a parker is a ten, then i have to be fair to that godly rank.

All Jackson USA Select models rule, If you want a great Guitar and have enough $ Buy a Jackson, NOT, ESP! They just claim to be good, They don't even compare. Not to mention you will save $ by staying away from the over priced garbage, BC Rich is great too, But they just don't look as great a Jackson's. Also, If you want a Jackson or BC Rich,go to Guitar Land.com They have the best selection,
( http://www.drumcityguitarland.com/ ) I am currently in the process in getting 2 more Jackson Selects! Most Likely a KE-2 but the company is going over alot of changes right now and if the make the KellyStar a Select I will get that also, I might think about the Select Warrior if they don't make the KellyStar, LONG LIVE JACKSON GUITARS!!!!!and EXTREME(REAL)METAL!!!!!!!!!!

This guitar was custom made for me and I recieved her this summer (2000 that is). She is - of course - made in the US since she's custom made. The neck has 24 frets and the standard KV1 measures. That is : 24 Fret / 25.5"" scale / 1 11/16" nut. The guitar is made in korina with a beautiful flamed maple cap. The color is trans red and she really draws some attention to herself... The fretboard is in ebony with an oiled finish.
The pickups are a two hum-setup. Seymour Duncan TB-4 in the bridge and a SH-4 in the neck... She has two volume controls and one tone. Metal dome knobs and a three way tele-switch. The bridge is a Kahler A.P.M. 3310 non tremolo bridge which works really really well. Easy to restring and to intonate.
Of course the guitar came with a hard case and the guys at http://www.guitartrader.com/ were really great (thanx Trevor!!!) and included a shirt, picks, strings and clothes.

This guitar sounds amazing!!!! Since I traded up from a Jackson Performer I am of course amazed with the punch. The bridge pickup provides me with a really heavy sound that can really be modified to your liking with the right amp. I normally play every thing from rock to trash to death and this guitar does it all for me. With a little detuning you can easily play every Cannibal Corpse-cover that you can imagine...
Of course it helps if you play it through the right kind of amp and right now I'm using a Marshall JMP1 pre-amp w/ a Marshall 9005 50/50 power amp. My cabinet is a Marshall 2x12 and I'm also using Digitech Quad4 for extra FX. One thing that takes me to heaven every time is when I split the signal on both pickups and play it clean with chorus. You will NEVER get a fuller sound!!!
I haven't found out one thing that this guitar can't do yet... You can get every sound that you want out of her. Sure it's a full on metal guitar but I believe that she would fit in nicely with every style imaginable if it weren't for the design (very metal). But I just love it!!!

The guys at the factory did a perfect job... Every little thing on the guitar was set-up great. Onfortunately I forgot to mention what string dimension I wanted so now I have to adjust it a bit myself. But I was very pleased with the work they put in it.

This guitar is solid!!! Every thing works perfectly. It seems as I can play this guitar for ages on every stage imaginable and she will last... I will never ever sell this beauty and I don't see any signs that she will be any less beautiful with age... A timeless guitar.

I haven't needed any support from Jackson yet... The guitar works great and every thing about her is just hunky-doorey.
The warranty is a little bit awkward for me though as I imported it to Europe myself. I don't really know what dealer I should be dealing with if anything ever happens... But the way I feel it nothing ever will happen so...
But I'd really like to promote http://www.guitartrader.com/ and Trevor Proud in particular. The service I got from them were nothing but perfect! Those guys are truly the best and the price was amazing...

I love this guitar and I really DON'T miss my old one cause it really sucked. My guitar rig really feels complete now though I'd love to buy more Jacksons.
If she was stolen.... I'd kill the bastard who did it. I'd immediatly deal with my incurance company to get money to buy a new guitar. But this guitar is really worth a lot to me and she can never be truly replaced.
I treat her like my baby and if anyone wants to now I named her Charlotte (as in the Harlot w/ Iron Maiden).... :-)
