This guitar was made at the real custom shop (not in california) and has "custom shop" logo on the bridge. It was made in 99. Jacksons are the best! check out their web site. Anyway it was made with a flame maple top and a mahogony body with black body binding. It has a string through design and rose wood fingerboard. The neck is a oiled finish, and quartersawn. It is a bolt on neck. The color is "trans blue/purple". It has gibson les paul electrical equipment. It has seymore duncan bridge pick-up TB-4 and SH-2 neck pick-up. Gotch tuners. It included the Jackson\Charvel case. I think the only thing i wish it had was korina body, but this is the next best thing.
Sound

The sound is a more high output type, of course--think of Scott Ian of Anthrax. Strangly enough I enjoy playing jazz and clean channel tones. This guitar is good at everthing. It is as good or better than any Gibson, Music Man, or PRS. Better than a Fender Strat or Ibinez.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Perfect exept mabe a korina model. I dont think the neck-thru is any better than a bolt on. The pickups are great, the finish is a bit dark, but it had a transluscent look. The action is great! It is the best thing about Jacksons, meaning the neck is very comfortable and the frets are jumbo.

Yes this guitar is as durable as any.

Ive been play off and on for ten years, but seriously for about two years, meaning everyday for at least a few hours. I have a peavey Triumph 120 amp which is a great unknown amp for a fraction of the cost of other amps that are no better! I love the fit and feel, the balanced tone and the finish and the cost. and if it were stolen that would be one of the worst things that has ever happened to me and i would have to go to a support group for a year!
