22 frets????????????

(I'm a huge Jackson fan, but they really blew this one. Now all they offer is some overpriced signature model with a retarded bolt-on neck that's PAINTED, only one pickup, and a fixed bridge. Oh yeah, and some guy's signature on the truss rod cover.)

DK7T
I'm not sure got it at a trade show. A 22 Fret solid top, man it cuts right though everything else. All the control are placed well and are distintive. I did have to change the bridge pickup, it wasn't what I was looking for so I put a Evo7 Dimarzio in it-SWEET!!!
I give it an over all 7 The best for the money!

Sound : 6
It wasn't strong enough, but niether was the Dimarzio. My Marshall MF just smokes with the low end and this ax. Not alot of noise, but fret trouble...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
The Ax fits great, a little head heavy but just fine.
The neck fret 2 & 3 catch on the 1st string, had to file the edge.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Really good. No problems with anything else.

I would defiinetly by it as a primary ax.
NEXT TIME MAKE IT A 24 FRET!

Made in 2002, the last of the DR7's I think.
Only 22 fretts but a hell of a guitar. 22 frett guitars should be illegal.
It has a very thin flame maple veneer-so it says, I sanded mine it was so thin I didnt even notice it.
vol. tone and 3 way toggle.
the Duncan designed pickups are articulate with some crunch and doesnt get muddy like an Ibanhad.
Alder body is standard tone wood and sounds good. And doesnt chip like basswood in most Ibanhads.Although basswood has an interesting midrange tonality but sometimes sounds like a tractorpull.
tuners are Jackson. floyd licensed tekeuchi tremelo great tremelo.
scale is 25.5" perfect with jumbo fretts too.
case xwide xspongy bass strap.
I give this an 8 because it could of been a 24 frett and whooped all ibanhads azzz

Sound : 10
stock pickups are excellent for jazz and articulate metal and thrash sounds just like a jb but made for a 7seven string. However if heavier sounds are needed I recomend an active emg pickup or a custom made heavy live wire duncan for a 7sevenstring.
This guitar rocks for experienced players with alot of style characteristics cutting through. and lead sounds is great as well. For pretty much a regular guitar its simple design sounds alot better than most a very balanced tonality that can be switched and used for a great variety of music types. Has a very strong woody tone as well ,suprising!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I set the action myself. This guitar likes what 6 stringers call 9nines.
However if you are changing the sound or customizing this guitar it can use different strings if setup properly though I would only let myself perform this job.
No flaws whatsoever. Excellent in simplistic design.
Sharkfin pearl inlays and black gloss finish awesome.I give this a 9nine for a standard mass produced guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Yes it will definitely play live for a very long time and solidly built. hardware has very durable hardware.
The most dependable good sounding guitar was made for live performance.
A true affordable workhorse.
Tremelo fulcrum point wear is normal for licensed tremelo can build a new tremelo plate off the old one to last like an original floyd if use the proper steel.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I wish I had asked Jackson if I could design her and made it a 24 FRETT Ibanhadd KILLER. Overall it is a fantastic value and great platform to build your own style.

A 7 string with a floyd rose tremlo! what more do you want

Sound : 9
This guitar is a metal machine. i run it throu a marshall amp with model numeber escapes me now. i use a compressor ( a good idea for a 7 string) and a equalizer, wah and a distortion pedal zoom hyper lead. the bolt on neck gives it a very rich full sond only dislike is the 22 frets ( i would like 24)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the finish is black and flawless. the factory setup was not great possibly they use a differnt gauge of strings the stroe i bought it from provides free setups anyway. the actions is a liitle higher then i like but i like minre really low

Reliability/Durability : 10
ive only had it for 3 months but it feels like its built like a tank. after a nuclear war the only thing left is cockraoches and this thing

I think it was made in 1999 (Japan), it has an alder body, two passive duncan designed humbuckers, a volume en treble control knob, a three-way-selector, a JT770LP double locking tremelo, reversed headstock en reversed sharkfin inlays. It's all black, with chromelike hardware, but not the shiny chrome, very cool. And oh yeah it's a seven string!

Sound : 9
When do you use a seven string? For metal of course!!! And fits this style very well. I compared it with a Washburn seven string, and this one just sounded better. More defenition in chords playing, more controlable en very clear. Also very good clean. I think it's the best guitar I bought so far!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Everything fine here. I had some new strings put on it, let the action set a little lower, since it hadn't been played on for years. It was full of dust. otherwise it was fine

Reliability/Durability : 8
I haven't played it live, just practice, but it seems sturdy. The only minor fault is that the selector switch sometimes doesn't work. I'll have that checked out, because I bought it new. The store who was selling it, had it hangin' there for 3,5 years, nobody bought it. Otherwise it's a very reliable guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't dealt with them yet. only bad thing is, jackson doesn't support Japanese serial numners on their site, so I couldn't find out what year it was built.

Overall Rating : 10
I've had it for three weeks now and I think is really great. I also own a Fender Ritchie Sambora strat (USA) and a Washburn N2, but I think this one suits me the best. Very clear but not to high pitched sound. If it would be stolen, I had to find the person who stole it and give him some whoopin', because I think it's reasonably rare because of the trem. I would buy it again if I could find one. I had a really good deal here, because I found it in an old catalog for 1380 euro's!!! The store adjusted it for me and gave me a free gigbag! Superdeal!
