Im not sure of the year, but its see thru-blue with 24 frets, licensed floyd trem and made in japan. it has a reverse headstock and shark inlays which look fucken wicked!!! this screams metal \m/ grrrr! very thin neck is easy to play on, im improving in speed only 1 week after having bought the guitar! awesome

Sound : 9
The guitar sounds great with shitloads of distortion on the bridge for crushing sounds, but the bridge is a little to "neck" sounding for my liking, still sounds great tho. sustains like crazy. let me say on the neck position it is great, sustain is fantastic for a floating trem... amazing lead tone...
you can get a good clean tone as well, the guitar is designed for metal tho, which is what i bought it for. well that and hardcore/punk. strung out, killswitch engage, thrice, throwdown, pantera, slayer, death, van halen are my fave bands that i intend to (attempt to) replicate. this guitar will have no troubles i dont think, quite versatile and very easy to play. may have to invest in a different bridge pup tho, probably emg81. i play thru a laney tf320.
the neck and single coil(which i never use) are both awesome! the bridge is also great, but seeing as i use this the most, i may invest in a different pup. for the price tho, AWESOME sound!!!! very smooth, i am addicted to the tones i can get!

when i first picked up the guitar it was fucked, high action old strings, maladjusted pickups, yet still played and sounded good. after a thourough clean and set up it was amazing. low action, great feel and sound, different guitar! awesome for the price i paid, theres a small part near the trem cavity (near the trem arm bolt) where a semi-circle of laminate is missing, but it looks amazing anyway! stays in tune now, no matter how hard u wank on the bar

Reliability/Durability : 8
i dont gig yet so i dont know, it seems very reliable tho. hardware looks set to last. trem and lockers seem very sturdy

Customer Support : 6
the store was fucked. they said that it would be set-up when i went to pick it up, it wasnt! it was still shitty. when they did finally set it up they redeemed themselves cause they did an amazing job! this isnt a reflection on jackson tho, i dont think they would give a fuck about what goes on down here!

I have been playing 3 years or therabouts. I own a laney tf320 which i purchased with the guitar (4 days ago). i love the guitar, mainly because i got it at 1/2 price, which absolutely kicks ass! but aside form that it is amazing for under a grand!!! nothing in the same ballpark of quality can be found in this range. the ibanez rg and esp ltd range both START at just under 1000 australian, and they are made in korea or some shit. this hard motherfucker is made in japan and it shows...
it plays as well as it looks (maybe even better)
if it were stolen and i was able to pick another up at a comparable price, id jump on it right away, no question! everything works well in conjunction with each other the trem is great!

This is the best looking guitar ive ever seen... A nice see tru purple flame maple top and a reverse head makes it metal all the way... Its got a H/S/H config with Duncan design pickups... You get all the harmonics you want from this baby.... A full floyd rose locking system means u can take the guitar to hell and back and it will kick butt.....

Sound : 9
The guitar suits my style perfectly... a perfect sound for metal or blues or rock or just about anything... The guitar is super quiet when not playing it... but delivers the meanest sounds youve ever heard... screaming artificial harmonics and beautiful clean sounds (due to the incredible neck and midlle pickups)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action is unbelievable too.. i have seen better... but i anything more and you dont feel like your plauying a guitar at all.... The pickups were perefectly set... and dam they are good... The finish is so good to look at....

Reliability/Durability : 10
Ive had it for almost a year and its lasted well....

This is a Japan made Jackson.24 frets, volume and tone controls, 5-way pick-up selector. It has two Jackson humbuckers and a single coil. Floyd Rose bridge, which stays in tune, thanks to the locking tuners. Good features.

Sound : 8
This is a great guitar for heavy and Rock'n'Roll. With my Marshall Valvestate amplifier it sounds great for heavy riffs etc. But this guitar is just for heavy, I think. The sound is almost perfect for Slayer etc., but it doesn't suite blues or beautiful leads with little distortion.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action in this guitar is the best!! This must be the easiest guitar to play in the world! A good-looking black finish, sharkteeth inlays at the fretboard make this a beautiful guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I can depend on this guitar 100%.

Customer Support : 9
A one year warranty with half of it still remaining.

Overall Rating : 9
This is the best guitar I've ever played. I'd like to get a Jackson SL1 Soloist, but this is a great guitar, too, with a cheaper prize. I'm going to buy a Les Paul or a strat for my more beautiful songs, because this is purely a Rock&heavy guitar. But for its purposes it's just great!
