Features : 10
2004 model
Made in JAPAN
Black metallic sparkle finish
solid alder body
2 EMG-HZ pickups
3-way selector switch, volume, tone control
Fixed bridge and string thru body
pearl shark tooth fretboard inlays
rosewood fingerboard with fully bound maple neck

Sound : 10
Beautiful tone from the EMG HZ pickups. This guitar is very versatile and can go from super shredding to mellow clean tones.
The neck pickup has a nice fat tone suitable for jazz when played clean. The middle position yields a tone similar to a les paul but not as much of a nasal sound. The bridge pickup has good crunch with the tone turned up.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I went thru 3 of these guitars before finding the right one to keep. The first had a defect with the tone pot. It just cuts off at times. This seems to be a big issue with this model, so check before you buy. The second one I bought had the strings misaligned on the fretboard. The high E string was way too far towards the left side. Finally, on my third one, I found the one I could stick with. No string alignment or pot problems. I had to adjust the saddles for proper intonation though. It was fresh out of the Jackson box. The neck had nice low action. The frets were nicely polished to a mirror shine. Finish was top notch and shiny. For under $400, it's hard to beat this guitar for sound, quality, and workmanship.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Everything seems reliable and durable for now. Don't know how long the pots will hold up so I will give it a 9.

Haven't dealt with them

Overall Rating : 10
Highly recommend if you find one without electronic problems.

Moto sharkfin inlays. One volume and one tone control. Three way pickup selector switch. Two EMG HZ humbucker pickups. Dinky Strat shaped body. String-thru Tune-O-Matic bridge. Three on a side headstock (harpoon shaped).

This guitar is versatile. You could use it to play blues, rock, metal and maybe some jazz. I use this guitar with a Randall RM100 MTS series head running into Genz Benz Gflex 2X12 cab. This amp has 13 different modules that simulate 13 different amps (all tube) that range from pristine clean to all out mayhem. The DXMGT sounds good with all of them. I can't get over how quiet this guitar is. No annoying hum or errant feedback! The neck pickup is awesome for lead work.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I bought 3 of these guitars one for me and the other 2 for my sons and the setup from the factory was fabulous! I found no flaws in any one of them. The Jackson factory in Japan builds very high quality guitars.

Reliability/Durability : 9
My only concern is the 3 way switch. I have also heard that tone pots and volume pots tend to need to replaced as they get noisy or
start to malfunction. We'll see.

Never used it but I bet it sucks. FMIC is to big to care if I have a problem with one of their guitars.

I've been playing for 7 years. If it was stolen or lost I would definatly buy it again! Other guitars I own USA Jacksons (SL1, SLATQH) USA Charvel (San Dimas Reissue). I also own 4 import Charvel/Jacksons.The made in Japan Jacksons offer the best bang for your buck IMHO. Take care.
