ive been playing for about 4 yrs and have played no less than 3000 guitars this is one of the best
these would have cost aroun 850-1200 in the 90s u can pick em up pretty cheap today i just wish it was rear routed and had 24 frets
if this guitar was stolen i wouldnt rest untill i had it back
ive compared this guitar with the rr3 rr5 and they all play the same

the pick ups are a bit weak in my opinion. Local guitar dealer hooked me up with a pair of EMG 81's and this thing is a BEAST. Great metal tone from 81's. Very well Suited for my Thrash Metal Style.

when I first got the guitar the action was horrible, but after leveling the frets and adjusting the Floyd Rose it played like a dream. It has the lowest action a have ever played on. all that it need was to be set up right

this thing will withstand to any live preformance you through at it. the finnish is very good with the exeptions of the sharp points which get dinged alot(which is to be expected with guitars with sharp points). The strap buttons Seem solid. the only bad thing is that sone of the hardware rusted, but nohing a little rust remover won't take care of. pretty good reliability. I always gig with a backup (just in case of some freak accident), but if i wern't to use a backup it would hold up.

the person i bought it off of said that he had it for like 10 years, so i don't really know about any kind of warrenty. the only repairs that I had done to it is the pick ups being replaced and the leveling of the frets.

I have been playing 10 years. Play through a Marshall JCM 800 and a Rocktron Prophesy II. If this thing were stolen I would buy it again and kii who ever stole it. has a great feeling neck. I have been playing Ibanez's because of their necks but since i picked this up I will never play another Ibanez neck ever again. The one thing I wish it had was Mother-of-pearl shark tooth inlays.

Sound is only thing on this guitar that i like.
But i wasn't played it too much so i can't give you precise answer.

Action si ok, hardware was litle rusted on some parts of floyd,
pots are loose and bad i think, neck is thin but not have apropiate*(#!#)speed because the transparent paint on neck is little "sticky". Fretboard is awful(cosmetic).

Don't waste your money on this!!! It sucks chineese squier strat is beter from this (except sound)
It is not mine guitar, and i just wanted to help other people
I played it less than 15 min. and it was to much. I have a HAMER CALQ
and it is better 888 times,(and probably cheaper) than that rubbish.

not even a real floyd. had trouble keeping locks blocks in place when tightening strings. stock pickups so i mean theyre just about ok. this is a lower end performer i might add which i bought at 350 english pounds.
they went all out on the neck. it really is super thin. 24 frets too. i grudgingly give it a 3 because it narrowly avoids being a baseball bat. see below for scathing dismemberment.

i bought this when i was only really thinking about 'fast' guitars. i understand these guitars are discontinued now, but im certain one will rear its ugly head for re sale. the sound, as implied above, is psuedo paul gilbert thin-as piss twang.

super thin neck. not a good thing. comparing my ltd mh 400 to this it really is another quality rip off from jackson. there is nothing SUBSTANTIAL to get a hold of while playing HOWEVER ur hammerons and other twiddelly wee devices will probably work a treat, so please feel free to piss ur money away as well as ur practice time.

zero. i had to hold the damn pickups in with a nail at one point. after that i could play guitar cuz it kept breaking. i hate this guitar, i want it to burn. trem is crap as stated.

jackson are fender's whores and their budget has been raped to increase fender's profit margin. every availible corner appears to have been cut. i will never ever go near a jackson again unless it is to convert the electronics into a mailbomb, send it to fenders chief whore with a note attatched telling him if he put his dick in it a magic fairy called mark morton will replace all the endorsers who left because of their selfish and opertunistic business conduct.

buy esp. buy ltd. dont buy bc rich, dont buy fender, dont buy jackson, dont buy gibsons, yes theyre beautiful but ud get more value for money on a coke binge, smoking jewel encrusted havanas, lit from the fire u just started in your own pubic hair.

No idea what year it was, nor where it was made.
22 jumbo frets, King V (Skarkfin, like a Randy Rhodes) superfast neck, ultra low action, "Jackson" pickups (from what i can ascertain, these are NOT the same as the "Jackson" pickups on the ps-3, but are a higher quality more expensive variety.
3 way selector switch, defective, often doesn't select the bridge humbucker at all. Lock Nut, Floyd Rose Licensed trem, black body, black hardware. Came with a hard case.

Superb, Crunchy, Rocking, Squealy, great. lovely pickups. beautiful sound from them. always got a cutting edge to the sound. even clean. Use it through a zoom707mkII and carlsbro glx100.

bought 2nd hand. setup absolutely perfect. guitar had been repaired previously (a dot at fret 3 on the upper side of the neck replaced imperfectly). Whamee bar nut loose on floyd rose, 3 way pickup selector very iffy. Jack socket crackly needed replaced.
action is 11/10
fit & finish is 6/10 (minor probs, but on a #400 guitar 2nd hand unnacceptable)

Will this guitar withstand live playing? - feel's flimsy, very uncomfortable to play. top heavy, fretboard too wide, and neck marginally too thin for me really.
Does the hardware seem like it will last? - Mostly. Jack plug & pickup selector need replaced, floyd rose needs fixed.
Is the finish good enough to last, or does it seem thin and easy to wear off with lots of playing? - Finish is good, very good, other than faults mentioned.
Are the strap buttons solid? - They are NOW after i tightened them.
Can you depend on it? With the switch/floyd/jack socket fixed, it's a fairly reliable superb sounding guitar, BUT, the shape of the king V i perswonally find to be an absolute pain in the arse when trying to play it. standing is the only position thats anywhere near comfortable, the guitar hangs away from the body, and the neck keeps heading groundward, which i find very very very awkward, nearly to the point where id lose my temper with it and kill it dead.

been playing since 92, have a washburn kc40v (good solid reliable), gould les paul copy (cheap as chips, brilliant fun, reliable, impressive sound playability.) carlsbro glx100 amp, zoom 707 mkII fx pedal, and a few other odd's n sods.
If this guitar was stolen, i WOULD NOT replace it with the same time. id miss the neck & the pickups, but this is the absolutely least playable guitar i've had, even though it has undoubtably the best action ive ever seen on a guitar, and superb pickups. its just too awkward for me.
I hate the way the neck pulls groundwards, i hate trying to play it sitting down (lying flat on my back is ok though!)
I chose it cos i used to love megadeth, and "had to" get one of these.
The one thing i wish it had, would be a soloist body. that would cure all it's ills for me.
Not reccomended for beginners this one. Pros may love it. I'm willing to sell/part-ex mine if anyone really want's it...
great components, do not necessarily make a great guitar.
