You should all know the feautures on this guitar if you dont dont read reviews read the specs first. I'm very happy with the feautures I have no complaints there
Sound
:10
This guitar is the best sounding guitar for what I love to play, which is metal! It sounds awesome, but you should know, about 95 percent of the guitars sound comes from the pickups, so that's what you need to change if you dont like the sound my bridge pickup is not the stock Jazz JB-4, it's a Seymour Duncan Sh-2 Invader so you can always critique the sound I love the sound my Rhoads gives me!
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
This is where (in my opinion) the RR1 Shines! it has the LOWEST ACTION I've EVER played, now maybe some custom shop can charge u 3000
$ for a guitar with better sound I dont know, but I'm more than happy with this setup! The guitar's finish is shiny and unbelieveably beautiful if you take excellent care of it like I do. Mine is a Black with the Gold pinstripe, and I wouldnt have it any other way, but I will be buying more in the future and have various paints like Lightning Sky, the RR-5 paint job, Metallic Black, etc... so yeah it's so hard to pick one because they are all amazing. Mine also has a custom head that doesnt have Jackson in Pearl but painted on white with made in USA like most of 'em but yeah I dont have a scrath or ding anywhere and there's also NO BUZZ at all which is amazing because of how low the action is!
Reliability/Durability

This is probably the low point in this guitar. The guitar is VERY reliable, however it does have a monster case which can be a pain, and is somewhat difficult to play with on a very small stage because of it's shape. With that same problem comes the BIGGEST problem with this guitar, it's common to see these guitars with scratched, dinged, chipped, and lacerated top wings. The wing is very long so u MUST be careful with this guitar, it's not made for playing in a tight room how ever it OWNS on a stage!!!!!

I love this guitar I baby it!!!! It's my favorite thing! Its even more important than my gf! lol jk jk jk jk...but anyways for the most part I'm strictly a Jackson player, I want to get an SL2H sometime aswell and will always be loyal to Jackson! My current guitars are : Jackson RR1T, Jackson DXMGT, Jackson EX Stealth Professional series, Gibson Custom Les Paul hollow body with gold H/W, and an Ovation acoustic, and let's not forget THE CAT! my first guitar ever which I've kept to this day even though it sucks ass!... I run it through : Ibanez DE-7, Digitch Whammy, Ibanez FL-7, Dunlop Crybaby 535Q, into a Crate Shockwave full stack...and for the record my favorite band is Bullet for My Valentine!!!!! but anyways if you want a GREAT Jackson beautiful guitar that screams METAL! get the RR1 or RR1T, I like the T cuz it's cleaner and I dont really use a Whammy bar but anyways take my advice and get it!

2004 USA Jackson RR1T with 22 fret thru-body neck. Features two knobs for volume and one for tone...two humbuckers, both Seymour Duncan passives. This is, of course, the offset V that Randy Rhoads drew on a napkin and handed to Grover Jackson with instructions to build. The RR1T is essentially the same as the RR1, but with a tuneomatic bridge and strings-thru body. The neck features Jackson tuners, sharkfin inlays, and a beautiful binding on an ebony fretboard. Comes with Jackson USA logo hardshell case. Facts aside, this is a guitar that is beautiful in its simplicity. The offset V shape is striking, the neck binding and inlays are perfect, and the whole thing just begs to be played. I'm happy to oblige!

I play a combination of black/death/thrash/viking metal and the Duncans in this thing sound great. I do not play leads, but the neck p/u provides a really nice punchy sound for little short runs. I no longer have much of a set up unfortunately, thanks to a big move and the band breaking up...I'm playing into an old DOD multi pedal > Beringer DI box > Alesis EQ > Tascam MKIII since all I can do is record myself now. I've only had the guitar for one night, but I think it's got 10s on it, and they sound nice and bright. I will probably say this in every category, but I love this guitar. I had an imported Rhoads (JRR-94) a while back, and it's true what they say - the USA models really are better and worth every extra penny. All 130,000 of them.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
In a word: perfect. The guys at Rocker in SF said that all their Jacksons come set up right from the factory, and this thing did not need a second of work on it. Pickup height, action, intonation, everything was...well...PERFECT. This part of the question: "Did the guitar contain any flaws? (misaligned bracing, poorly filed fretwire,
finish flaws, poor quality wood, rusted or oxidized hardware, loose tuning pegs, poorly cut nut, poorly fit saddle, noisy pickup selector, loose controls, etc...)" cracks me up because I'll be damned if I'd buy a guitar with any of those problems in the first place. I never buy a guitar that I don't play first, either, so that means no mail order. I should mention also that this guitar balances perfectly. I had another Rhoads (import) that was quite neck-heavy. This one is not.
Reliability/Durability

After the death of the band, I don't play live anymore...at least not right now. Considering how well I take care of all my stuff, this guitar could easily withstand gigging. The hardware is tough, and I don't foresee any troubles there. As far as the finish goes, they use freakin' automotive paint on their instruments (they recommend using a mild auto wax on the finish to maintain its luster) so I kinda don't think I'm going to damage it. Now, it's been said before but I'll say it again: Vs and Explorers BEG to be banged into walls by even the most careful person, and hitting a solid object with another solid object is bound to cause some damage. I'm going to wrap my house in bubble wrap to prevent this from happening. Strap buttons: I use the DiMarzio straps that just attach straight to the body, so I'm not worried about the buttons. I have never gigged without a backup because that's really a bad idea.

Never dealt with Jackson directly, but I'll probably write them and pat them on the back for making such a kickass guitar. I think the warranty is limited lifetime, but I couldn't concentrate on the literature when I had it in front of me.

I have been playing on and off for about 20 years, and I've had a buttload of guitars: Jackson V, DR-6 and Rhoads JRR-94, LTD Lawsuit Explorer, Ibanez RG 7321, Schecter C7...I think that's it. This is easily the nicest guitar I've ever owned or played. What do I love about it, you ask? The shape, color, neck binding and sharkfins, balance, pickups, finish, everything is perfect for me. My wife and I went to the store to "look" at this guitar, and she convinced me to buy it after about 15 minutes. I love that woman.

I play Rock and metal!!! This is the tool to create some cool sounds with!! Especially being backed by a 1/2 stack and Line 6 PODxt.
No noise what so ever -- except the good noise :)
It does it all!!!
All likes - No diss'n

How was the action? Not better then my Kramer NightSwan but very close!
The Guitar is Awesome and was setup by the pro where I bought it. I couldn't ask for anything better.
It is a little akward to play at first w/ balance and such but that all goes away the more you play and get comfortable w/ it.

Will this guitar withstand live playing? YES
Does the hardware seem like it will last? YES
Is the finish good enough to last, or does it seem thin and easy to wear off with lots of playing? It's a Rhoads - be careful of the fins the are wall magnets and will chip!!
Can you depend on it? YES
Would you use it on a gig without a backup? Would be silly not to have a backup

Iv'e been playing for 4 years and own a Jackson DKMG, 2 Kramer Nightswans, 2 Kramer Baretta's, and 2 Kramer Strikers.
If it were stolen or lost, would you buy it again or get something else? Have you seen a grown man cry?!?
There is only one thing wrong with this guitar and it is how easy it is to chip the fins. Other then that.... It's ALL good!!!

Perfect for Metal. I have a collection of Les Puals and this was the first Jackson I bought and have never played a better guitar. Sound great on amps from Peavey to Rivera. Superb clean tones, diary of a madman never sounded better. Distortion is great with harmonic on every fret.

Factory settings were good but Ive made them better. Lowering the action to almost slight string buzz and run GHS strings,8-38. Finish is saseptabul to knicks and dings.

Absolutly. I play this guitar 6 hrs a day minimum. Use it live 3 days a week from Seattle to LA. I use strap locks thus replicating a Malmsteen throw, watch out for the points. I woul use it with out a back up If I could count on not breaking strings.

IT's everything for my music ,heavy metal!(i am not talking about that new metal that sucks and that is regarded as metal who knows why...)
I think what i play is called "old school Heavy metal" Sounds dumb, doesn't it?Im talking about bands like (Maiden, Priest,Iced earth or eventualy some black metal like Children of Bodom).
I use a tsl 100 head with a 1960 marshall speaker cab, plus a metal zone for more solidity in the sound.
It's true that it is noisy when playing in a room ,so i started
playing it in my garage ,much better, reverb included!(ha Ha).
The dirstortion is good but much better with a metal zone.
I recomend a pair of emg 81,85 to give the guitar more punch and more solid sound for palm muting and power chords.
For the ones who play real metal and want to make the guitar scream
i recomend the dunlop crybaby and rotovibe to do cool guitar solos.
Very versatile guitar for metal music.
The only drawback for me was the sting thru body.
I realy use the tremolo system a lot in my other guitars.
I guessed i should have bought the rr1 instead of this one.
The good thing and difference between the string thru body and the floyd rose tremolo is that the strings won't get out of tune with the string thru.other than that this guitar rocks!

The guitar looks realy good, the pickups well adjusted, the guitar is really straight (the neck is not curved like other cheap guitars)
Its a realy good guitar.
The fretboard has real pearloid inlays and very dark ebony colour
The thing i would change are the frets(i' ve been used to paly with standard and not jumbo frets).

Yes, Many big metal stars play this guitar in studio and live
The hardware is rely durable.
This is the only thing that kind of pissed me off with this guitar, the finish is very cool but it gets scratched easily even if
you don't realy see it.
WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:Make sure you play this guitar in BIG OPEN SPACES.i stopped playing this guitar in my room because everytime i did i would hit it against the wall or the ceiling fan ,and parts of the painting of the extremities (the v or triangles) would fall.
It's a light guitar, get a good strap so the guitar stays in place when playing.
It will take time to find a good position to play the axe.
don't try to play with the guitar down to your knees
you wont be able to like with other guitars.
play it with your knee between the two extremities.
very reliable

4 years playing Heavy metal,2 broken guitars:Fender mexican fat strat
and epiphone les paul custom(broken by an airplane company!!!
If somebody stole this guitar i would get the same guitar again or other jackson usa guitar.
I love everything exept the durability of this specific finih.
My favorite feature is the body style.
I may send this guitar to a custom shop to have a different finish.
If you play good metal and sophisticated guitar riffs get one while you can.
Did i mention they only make 50 of these a year this guitar could be discontinued like many other jackson guitars.
jackson will rise he prices next year

The stock pickups are terrible. The bridge pickup is very very muddy. The neck pickup doesn't compress at all so you get a nice choppy sound for alternate picking lines, but it is even muddier than the bridge pickup. I have yet to replace these pickups.

The guitar came set up perfectly. Everything was great, the neck, the action, the intonation...
The guitar's neck feels amazing. It's a painted neck which is very smooth, and the fingerboard\frets are very fast. Plays like a dream.

I too bought this guitar because Kirk Hammett just looked too damn cool with it...and it is a great guitar. As soon as I get the neck set up and replace the pickups with some EMGs or Dimarzios, then the guitar should be a perfect 10. Mostly suitable for metal of course.

THIS GUITAR WAS MEANT TO PLAY HEAVY METAL OR HARD ROCK!! It has that rock crunch with medium bass. Bridge pickup has sharp highs and medium mids, but harmonics do not magically pop out. Still sings though. Neck pickup has low output and on distortion almost sounds clean. Very defined but not hot enough. Has great, fat clean sound on any pickup.

Every thing was perfect except that occasionally the bridge pickup will lose distorion until you F-around with the switch.

Very durable, even though I wouldn't know since I pamper it and rarely take it out of the case. It seems very solid. Right now I wouldn't gig with it since the pickup (or selector) is screwed.

It plays excellent, sounds great, but isn't that versatile. I love it's silky smooth neck and ebony fretboard. If it were stolen, I would get another rg3120 cause they are very versatile. I bought this guitar because Kirk Hammett looked so cool back then with it, but now he just lost it. GUITAR PLAYER OF THE DECADE MY ASS.
