made in china,22 frets, some kind of solid wood, flame burst, the usual controls for a an Gibson SG. Ebony fretboard, gold bridge hardware with an Burns tremolo, some kind of tuners look like Grover knock offs, medium frets. Hardware seems pretty good for the price and make unlike those other expensive Epiphone or Gibson SG's. Before i paid for my JT-55C , I scrutinized everything from headstock to tail end, and i was sold.

I play any style in the non-traditional sense , self taught. Laney, Fender BandMaster and Fender ProReverb all tube amps. I mainly use Fuzz and other analog distortion effects, (custom made). The sound is pretty full and rich. Humbuckers are workable for the price. This guitar can make my tube amps distort pretty good, and when i use a treble booster ala Tommy Iommi, (WOW).
Action, Fit, & Finish

The factory set-up blew me away, it's right on target, action is good. I might adjust the pickups to my liking though. This guitar just blows me away, the finish and hardware are great for the price range. The frets were very good and the setneck was straight and not warped. Had to tighten some screws for the tremolo but hey, nothing is perfect. Would not recommend using the tremolo to much( tuning issues is historic on these Bigsby type tremolo's but stays in tune without using it.) For the price, this guitar just blows me away and it's beautiful looking too. I tried the more expensive Epiphone and Gibson SG's but they all had some issues not worth the price. If you need a thousand or thousands dollar guitar to sound good maybe it's the player and not the equipment. Remember the old blues players that could wail away on what they could afford and the rest is history.

Looks and feels very sturdy like a way more expensive SG. Hardware looks decent and will last years. Remember, the guitar and it's hardware is only as good as it's owner takes care of it.

I have been playing for 6 years on and off, self taught everything from electronics of guitars to building and setting up guitars.
If it were stolen , i would buy it again. What i love is the price range and quality. I have a jimi hendrix woodstock stratocaster and Jackson proffesional with folyd rose, and ibanez destroyer, love em all but this one has it's own character. I hope Gibson takes notice, their expensive guitars are just that ,expensive !!!. I played many guitars and the only reason people find them good is so that they can brag about what they paid and the usual trends that go along with them. Music comes from your heart and soul, not the price of your equipment.

Action was dead on for me(low)and that's what counts
Pickups required adjusting to my taste
Top was easy to get around and I liked the location of the toggle switch.
Color is great, there were a couple of paint blotches on side of head stock.(guess painter was suffering from hung chow)

Played it for 2 months and it seams to be sturdy enough
Hardware is functional.
To new to tell if finish will hold up.
Strap buttons are solid
Used it and a Taylor 710CE at a private gig while my I was fitting my main Highway 1 strat with new Lace Hot Golds(awesome - contact Bruce @ aamps).

Actually the company responded to a question I emailed regarding the finish and they were very professional and polite with the information. I have emailed other companies that did not even offer the time of day (including my main love). Also, Mike at Music By Grace (the dealer) is a super nice guy and assured me a 100% customer satisfaction return if I was not happy with it.
Warranty is limited lifetime to original purchaser have not had any issues to use it.

Here it is in a nutshell-I purchased this guitar sight unseen based on reviews through Harmony Central. I have been playing for over 30 years (old fat-cat with a strat)and my main axes are 2 Stratocasters and a Taylor. My gigging amp is a Cyber Twin SE running into a vintage half stack with a Deluxe 85, original TK999 and a Peavey multi effects petal as a back up. Working in the Engineering department of a major US mfg company I will tell you the quality is good, not US but the price isn't US either. It's cheap, but this thing is more fun to play than a barrel full of monkeys. I fixed the tremolo by adding a stop between the return pin and the housing. It only "dive bombs" now but that is all I wanted and the strings(changed to usual Elixers)stay in tune. As a matter of fact I was so impressed I purchased a JT200QMT VINE in Purple Sunburst. These will never replace my strats but admittedly the JT55C is the guitar I play around with the most. It just feels good; neck is a speed demon and it is fully capable through the Cyber twin. For a cost effective rocker with humbuckers this is a really fun guitar. In my opinion it's a fantastic value for the money.
