2005? Model JT-200C
Platinum finish with cream binding and chrome hardware.
Les Paul Standard clone, with set neck and hardshell case.

Sound : 9
Surprisingly bright and airy on the bridge p/u, not just thick and raspy. Nice and mellow on the neck, with that good low end. It sounds way better clean than I expected. You could play jazz on this, and present well. Serious competition for an Epi Dot that we own, but I still favor the Dot on the neck. This sounds better on the bridge than the Dot does, at least if you're talking about clean.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
As-delivered set-up was really hell-and-gone out. Dogs-howling intonation. The action wasn't too bad, but after a complete set-up, it's fast and sweet.

The guitar does have visible flaws in the area on the top immediately under the neck. It looks as though some glue is painted over. You do have to look closely for it.

This is where I expected the trade-offs for the low price.

Reliability/Durability : 10
So far, the "Way Less", as we have named it, has given not one hint of trouble. Absolute reliability.

Great value for broke gearheads.

I bought this LP-clone off of Ebay because of the platinum finish,
the price, and because my son bought a similar Jay Turser LP (bolt-
on neck), and it sounds pretty good. It has dull-silver style humbuckers that sound decent. The guitar was listed as a "blem", and I was prepared for the worst---but I can only find a very small area at the base of the neck where the paint has some minor ripples/ bubbles....no other "blems" anywhere. It has a cream colored binding
that is flawless...the hardware and tuners are a nice "dull platinum" finish. This guitar looks very nice.

Sound : 10
I am a Strat guy normally, so this is actually the first humbucker-equipped guitar I have owned. I like the sound from both the bridge and neck pups---no issues whatsoever...no bad noises. The switch works fine, and so do the tone/ volume knobs---no crackles or hissing.
The tone is bright and full on the bridge p/u....it is "warmer" than
i'm used to with single-coils---but not "jazz"-type warm....just less harsh. The neck coil makes chords sound great---I can hear the individual notes just fine.
I play rock/ blues for my enjoyment, and a little home recording. This will be a nice addition to my other guitar sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was set up fairly well---but the lower 2 strings have a little fret buzz that I will have to adjust for and set intonation.
The frets are perfect---no flaws. They are well polished and do not
abrade my hand as it slides up and down the neck. Again, the cream colored binding is flawless, as is the paint (see above about "blem").
They did a very fine job with the metal finishes---they go with the paint scheme and compliment it nicely. The tuners are a little touchy--- the guitar stays in tune pretty well, but not as well as the locking tuners on my Strats. Knock off a couple of points for the tuners and the fret buzz---otherwise, it is a real knockout!

Reliability/Durability : 2
I haven't had the guitar for more than 2 months at this point. I don't "play out", so that isn't an issue for me. The finish seems durable---I have no reason to "baby" it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
There is a warranty---but I didn't pay much for this guitar, and I
would try to fix it myself, first.
Never dealt with company

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for my enjoyment for 30+ years.
I have lately gotten into home recording, and have been buying
equipment for this new hobby for the past 2 years.
I have an American Deluxe Strat, a MIM "project" Strat, an Ovation
Celebrity Deluxe, an Orlando nylon-string, and a ESP LTD bass.
My amps are a 65 Super Reverb, a JCM 602 Marshall, a Hiwatt Studio/Stage, and a SWR workingman's 15.
I only ended up paying $120+ $25 shipping for this beauty---I would be very sad and angry if it were lost or stolen, because I would never replace it for the price. I like it a LOT.

Like I said, this is a beautiful guitar. Other than that it's junk. OK, I guess the tuners are OK.

Sound : 3
This guitar isnt that great. The sound is muddy and solos are pretty much a waste of time. The pickups are pretty cheap and just dont quite cut it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
The action is OK if a bit buzzy. The guitar is lighter than a traditional Les Paul and not even close to the quality. Adjusted pickups? forget it. The guitar didnt really come with flaws. It's just cheaply manufactured and prone to breakdowns. It looks awesome. I will give it that. Mine is purple and always gets positive comments. But, it sucks so bad next to everything else I play that I never take it anywhere anymore.

Reliability/Durability : 1
This is the most unreliable guitar I have ever owned. It would be a hugely bad idea to take this as your only axe on a gig. When I used to take it I always took a Ibenez Artcore jazzbox as a backup. I always ended up played the Ibenez cause the JT would crap out. It has some serious internal, electrical issues so now I just hang it on the wall and look at it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I got this one cheap so I have never tried to get it fixed.

Overall Rating : 3
I have been playing with a band for about seven years. I played for more years than I can remember before that. Lets say a total of 30. If this axe was stolen I would shake the guys hand. Other than the fact that it makes nice art on my wall there are no other redeeming qualities about this guitar. For art it was well worth the cost.

This was a 2004 model and has 22 frets. It is a solid transparent purple maple top. Typical les paul styling with two volume and tone controls. Solid 3 ply binding from the body to the headstock. Slight figured top like a real les paul. Die cast tuners adn three ply pickguard.

Sound : 10
This has definite tonal differences with both pickups. Excellent tone for both pickups with a fat full sound from the rhythm pickup and bright sound from the treble/lead pickup. You can get great classic rock or even hard rock/metal sounds out of it. With the neck pickup, you can get great blues and jazz sounds too. Very versatile.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Great action and finish right out of the box. Pickups were already set up with the right height and setup was low enough for any style. Strings were D'Addario .009s. Excellent sound and tonal qualities.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Has been great for the first twelve months. Very solid after lots of play. I would definitely use it for gigs. I am currently using it on a current project. Great fixed bridge guitar and better than any epiphone I have played.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't needed it due to the high quality and construction.

Overall Rating : 10
I would definitely buy another one of these if it were stolen. Better than epiphone les pauls and very reminiscent of the Gibson Les Paul. It is a hot guitar with great looks and finishes. Solid construction with the full body binding - ALL FOR A VERY LOW PRICE cheaper than most Epiphones.

This guitar has been modified to look like a Gibson Les Paul Standard.
It has a Gibson logo and Les Paul on the headstock.
The truss rod cover sats Standard.
The pickup rings, bridge and stop tailpiece are gold plated.
Tuners are copies of Gibson's and work good.
There is also a brass ut installed.
I don't know if the pickups are stock or not.
Uncovered white humbuckers.
3 way switch and 4 speed knobs.
It also has a chambered body.

Sound : 8
I bought this guitar cheap mostly because it looks like a real Gibson LP.
I intend to use it on stage after I install a Roland GK-3 pickup on it to control a Roland GR-30 synthesizer.
Using the stock pickups it does not sound like a Les Paul but more like an L-5 archtop.
More of a woody sound.
I play through a Marshall tube half stack.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The quality of this guitar is excellent.
There is not a flaw on it.
I don't know how it will hold up to gigging but if I get a year out of it I'll be happy.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Don't know yet.

I have been playing for close to 40 years.
I gig regularly.
My main guitar is a Guild Blues 90.
I also use a 1968 Telecaster and a Morgan Monroe acoustic/electric.
I bought this guitar because I needed something cheap that looked and played good to install a GK3 pickup on to drive a Roland guitar synthesizer.
I have played a couple gigs (without the GK pickup) with it and get comments on how beautiful my Gibson LP is.
Since I did not do the work of converting it in to a Gibson looking guitar I don't feel guilty about it.
I won't even try to compare it to a real Gibson Les Paul although it certainly looks like one.
As for sound....
Your sound is in how you play and your amp.
I sound pretty much the same on any reasonably constructed solid body guitar.
If anything happened to this would I buy another one.
I doubt it.
Not that it's bad I just like to keep moving....on.

Made in 2003 in China. Body made out of very light wood--appears to have hollow spots in the body beyond the usual routing. Usual LP-style set-up--single cutaway, chrome hardware, two humbuckers, three-way switch, tune-o-matic bridge, 2 volume pots + 2 tone pots, etc. Finish is very dark purple burst with black trim--no fancy inlay, just dots on the fretboard.

Sound : 7
Bridge pickup is a little on the harsh side--don't use it much, except in combination with the neck pickup. Generally less bassy than a real LP or SG, but not nearly as bright or jangly as my Squier II Strat--has a totally distinct tonal character, more like a jazz guitar. I use it with a Line 6 Spider 112 Combo amp, usually on the "clean" setting (with chorus, delay, and some reverb) or the "crunch" setting (with chorus only). I generally like the sound, but it isn't quite as inspiring as the Strat.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Action and intonation set very well at the factory. No noticeable flaws in the finish, routing, or hardware (aside from the pickup selector switch's being pretty cheap). Can't vouch for the wood, given the origins of the instrument, but didn't expect much for the price.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I generally don't play live, and I haven't had the guitar long enough to know whether it will withstand heavy use. (I do think that Pete Townshend would have been crazy to use anything BUT Jay Tursers, live, back in his guitar-smashing days. They're inexpensive, sound decent, and are readily replaceable.)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have never dealt with the company.

Overall Rating : 10
As one who values bang for the buck, I think highly of Jay Turser guitars; honest-to-goodness Gibsons sound slightly better and are better-made, but only a pro needs, or will notice, the difference (and look at the difference in price!). I've been playing for my own enjoyment for 30 years--I once had a mid-70s Gibson SG, and my JT-200 plays and sounds just as good as the SG did. If it were stolen, I'd buy another one, but I'd probably get a better-looking one with vine inlay, cream-colored trim, and a more-striking finish. (Warning: if you buy on eBay and the seller tries to sell you a "hardshell" case, make sure that's what you're getting. I fell for that line and ended up getting a poorly made "vinyl over cardboard" case whose hardware promptly fell apart.)

When I first saw the guitar I fell in love with the look of it. It was a beautiful transparent moss green finish on it. Has cream style Pickguard and pickups. Chrome hard ware. The neck is thin. One minor paint blemish on the neck joint, but you REALLY have to look for it.

Sound : 9
I bought some pickups to have put in it (ahead of time) because I felt for sure the stock pickups would need to be replaced.... man was I wrong.... I spent 150.00 for nothing (If it ain't broke, don't fix it). The pickups sound as good as my friends PRS, and better than my 1967 Gibson SG's, or my American Deluxe Stratocaster. The guitar when plugged in is very pristine in the clear channel, but when run through a distorion channel, it shreds. I like the sense of quality I feel when I play this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action was set up just like I like it, low and no buzzing.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
This Guitar is so light that I am afraid I will hurt it.... I guess that will wear off. They say that these guitars are purposely made to be light.

Don't deal with them, Just Dennis at Music Land Central... he is great

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar is screaming quality from the finish all the way to the sound and playability. It plays and sounds better than any other guitar I have ever played, with the exception of a single cut away PRS (A $5500.00 guitar!!!) ... but it is right up there with that one!!! I want to thank Jay Turser personally for providing an awesome guitar at such a remarkably low cost. This guitar plays and sounds like it cost at least a thousand more than I paid for it. This is not a cheap copy of a les paul. This is a fine guitar. Better made than anything I have ever played except PRS's. I have been playing for 15 years and own(ed) several guitars from Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, and Washburn guitars. Right now I have a 1967 Gibson SG and a American Deluxe Strat. They are good guitars, but if I had this one back when I purchased them, I would have never gotten them. I originally bought this guitar to haul around from friends and to church (I play in church), and back home. Just to kick around with so nothing would happen to my "expensive" guitars..... now I am afraid too, because I don't want anything happening to this one. This has officially became my main axe.

2003 JT200 W/ vine or serpent Mother of Pearl inlay. LP style controls (2 volume 2 tone 3-way toggle) w/ 2 covered humbuckers. Flamed maple top, rosewood fingerboard, maple neck. Transparent green finish. Tune-o-matic style bridge. gold hardware

Sound : 10
I play Metal. Metallica,Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Slayer, Testament, Children Of Bodom, Cradle Of Filth, Type O Negative,Mudvayne, Nothingface. But I also dabble in classic rock, grunge, and acoustic stuff. I run a Line 6 FlextoneII Head through a Line 6 cab. I've played it on every setting on the amp. For under $400.00 you cant touch the tone of these guitars. At high distortion w/ the bridge pickup you can get a nice, meaty palm mute that doesn't puss out when you really bear down for those speedy thrash riffs. When you switch to the neck for clean tones you cant get a nice ringing clean for arpreggiated stuff and a twangy blues tone with no noise

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar needed a little fretwork to keep the action nice and low. the pickups were adjusted just fine. The finish and inlay work rivals any gibson I've seen.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
haven't had it long enough

Ive Been Playing for 5 years now. I've Played a ton of gibsons from flying v prototypes to sg supremes and every les paul ive ever seen. For the price of 1 Gibson, I can walk out with 3 or 4 Tursers. For the money you're not going to find a better looking or playing guitar. period

Typical features but with a quilt top purple paint job. Dual gold humbuckers and stop tail bridge. It also has gotoh tuning controls. It is a les paul copy.

Sound : 10
Great sound with better than expected les paul tone ( better than epiphone ). Not noisy at all and has a rich full fat tone with both humbuckers. Love the sound from both pickups. Definitely a pro sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action was great, the finish was incredible purple quilt and the neck was very smooth.

so far so good

Talked with a guy at awesales and sales are hot. The guitar has had great response from everyone. Called just to talk.

Overall Rating : 10
Great price for this guitar that measures up to Epiphones and ESP. I don't see the price going lower but maybe about $150 higher. Jay Turser is selling these to promote their name and these prices are only promotion prices. Very much like Epiphone did in the early days. Try EBay for auctions or 'buy' prices. I bought another on EBay myself. Great guitar.
