The finish is awesome on this guitar, a nice deep look smooth cherry burst finish. very pretty. i have many other guitars but the finish on this one is the best.
nice tuners, the neck is a little thick for my likeing, but it is good, better than most ive played.
Maple neck, with rosewood fretboard, and mahogany body, with maple top. alright, but made in 3 peices.
22 frets.

Sound : 10
i like to play pretty much any style, this is great for playing just that. the sound is good, sustain is also good.
i use a 35 watt silvertone amp, and it gives me ALL the sounds i need, country, to grunge type sound.
all in all, i like the sound, definatly NOT a gibson guitar, but close enough.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
had to adjust the action somewhat, the pickups were perfect. although it did have a problem with the Jack, the cable slips out when i am playing which isnt good, i wouldnt use this guitar at a gig, but it is great for teaching lessons in my home.

Reliability/Durability : 7
this guitar could withstand live playing, but i wouldnt use it without a backup.

Customer Support : 1
i tried to get it repaired 9 months ago, and still no reply

Overall Rating : 6
over all, the look and sound are awesome, but i would chose another guitar of it any day. because if some of the problems with the jack.
i have a silvertone SIK1 that is the best guitar ive ever played.

2006 - Les Paul copy. 24.75" scale. Mahogany neck and chambered mahogany body with thin cap of figured maple. Tiger's Eye (aka "translucent walnut") finish from China. OK flame-like quilt (not very deep) with gold hardware, black "top hat" knobs and black pickguard. Unlike earlier Jay Tursers, the block inlays are not even fair copies of mother-of-pearl. The headstock "inlays" are poor holographic stickers. Finish is poor along neck as it is bumpy (on the high-E side, no less). Chinese hardware leaves a bit to be desired. Frets needed a steel wool treatment to clean glue/finish/adhesives off.

Sound : 9
Advertised as alnico pickups, they dirty up nicely. They do well considering how hollow the guitar is. Better than most Epi LPs that I've spent many hours playing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Action is great, no bumps/twists on the fretboard. Pickups needed no adjustment and the top was a decent bookmatch. Three-piece mahogany body, two piece neck (scarf joint?). Finish could use lots of improvement. According to their mass of Ebay distributors, they are using a new factory... This 06 model was a lot sloppier than their 2002-2005 models I've gotten.

Reliability/Durability : 8
At this price, they're very well built. I'd never play without a backup anyway - I've got 15 now...

Customer Support : 9
The company is wonderful, Ebay makes them seem cheeper with all the amateur "distributors" on the job. They do put a good product out and deserve more business than the Indonesian Epis out there nowadays.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing 27 years now. I love the guitar and just wish it was a true solid body. I could buy four of these for the same price of a single Carvin and be quite happy with all the variances I can get. Frankly, I am on the endorsement role of a couple of other companies and I buy Tursers to get different tones, scales, feels, looks, etc...

I was hanging around at this pawn shop, lookin up for a backup guitar with my usual low budget when on a vintage Golden Gate amplifier i saw her standing up, i always have hated the "dolled up" appearence of the LPs, you know... they do merely look like gitars for girls or for faggot emo rockers; but this one didnt had the fancy stuff (block inlays, metal covers on the pickups, glitter here, glitter there) she had a pretty cool cherry sunburst and in my opinion that suits the grunge look very well, and yeah! the most important thing... the overly hailed Gibson word wasnt in her headstock, it saved me like one thousand bucks, so i brought her home. Dont know about the year, i think those are made in china, has 22 frets laminated body, H/H, 4 pots (2 vol, 2 tones) the neck is very comfortable for my hands in comparison to other friend's LPs that I have played as backups

Sound : 9
Im in a band of my own, something between grunge and shoegaze, i have a Sunn Concert Lead, a Peavey Monitor head, i run them trough custom Sunn cabs, and a silver face Fender Dual Showman trough one cab with a celestion, ds-1 and a small clone, i have owned several guitars but they have been trashed or dealed for gear, my only surviving guitar is a japanese jagmaster vista series with humbucker at bridge and a Fender single coil at neck position, superb clean sounds and rich full distorted sounds, cracks, dents, and chips are in the whole body and pickguard but the neck is near mint, a dream to play with (new jagmasters are crap), so i have enough time on rehearsal and onstage to sound the way i want to. well i plugged her into my Fender and sounded like $%^&, hell!! electronics did their function, 3 pos switch worked fine, but the sound as well like i said, $%^&, sounded like if i was playing a bass in neck position, middle and bridge sounded non clear, mudy. It was suspicious enough for a guitar, so i ckecked the inside, solder joints, pots, wires, caps, everything looked brand new like, so i downloaded a typical LP wiring diagram and i found that the wiring was diferent, it took me the whole evening to correct it but afterwards it was worth. the sound improved a lot, and i mean A LOT!. i could get amazing sounds out of her, both clear and distorted, and have not the typical unbalanced bright sound of the crappy ones. remember that humbuckers are perfect for distortion, im giving this rating cause the previous owner(s) could have changed the wiring, she was in a pawn shop!!, and after all: "sound is really great now"

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
to suit my taste i adjusted the height of the pickups a little, the action is fast for me, neck is very confortable, the frets do not go out to the sides of the fretboard, neck feels really solid constructed, the funny thing about her is that the neck is heavier than the body!!, and to balance the guitar i introduced a big piece of metal inside of the body where the wires and pots lodges!! NO KIDDING, the neck deserves a 10, but the body's wood.......

Reliability/Durability : 9
she stays in tune soooO goooOOd, srting keys are soft, and has withstanding live playing very well, hardware isn't lose or something, everything is tight and comfy, plus the cherry sunburst and the black plastic parts rhymes with my slovenly self-being, if the finish will wear off i really wouldn't care, always and when the neck and sound remains like nowadays, this way also I might depend on her.

I wouldn't use any guitar without a backup on a gig, since the strings get broken in the most unexpected moment (everybody knows that) and here in Mexico the audience can being to say things about your mother if you make them hung up for long periods, hey!! thats usual in any place where the beer flows, isnt it !?

Customer Support : No Opinion
guitar electronics arent rocket science, never needed to dealt with customer support, if someting major happened I would contact a good technician, like I've done before with amplifiers and effects

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing during 5 years, and what i love about her the most is the neck, then playability and then sound, as i said before is perfect for distortion, the sound will be a 10 if she had a single coil in the neck position for the clean tones, i wish she had heavier and better wood for the body, and a tremolo.

but after all she was a great deal for the money!!

cheers from Mex

I do not know what year this was made in, but, that really doesnt matter much to me, it has 22 frets with simple dot inlays, a solid top, 2 volume and 2 tone controls, and a 3-way pickup selector. H/H configuration, i dont know what make or model, but they are stock.
I received this guitar in a beautiful black finish with painted on cream coulour 'binding'

Sound : 9
I play mostly classic rock and 70's metal (everything from Jefferson Airplane to The Doors to Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath) The pickups dont sound the best, so i would suggest getting replacements later on, but they should be fine. It has the typical Les Paul sound to it. In my opinion, the sound is great, but like i said, later on you might want pickup replacements

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It was set up free of charge for me by a friend at the shop, so i couldn't comment about the factory settings. The guitar contained no flaws at all, except for a small nick on the back, but that was not the guitars fault.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I haven't had this guitar for very long (about a month) but nothing has fallen of yet, so i think thats good. the hardware seems like it will last, i got mine in gold, and i've heard of in time the gold eventuall comes off, but im not worried about that. the finish looks like it should last with lots of playing. the strap buttons seem solid, but im soon going to replace them with straplocks just to be sure. i feel i can depend on it, and i would use it at a gig, but not without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I havent dealt with jay turser yet. The warranty was for one year

Overall Rating : 10
I think that maybe i should have asked about the year it was made, and the woods it is made of, but no big deal. If it were lost or damaged i would definately buy another, but i think i'd probably look into different finishes, not that i dont like the black, but i love heritage cherry sunburst. I compared it to some other Jay Tursers (JT-50) in the shop, for the same price, and a samick torino. I liked this one the best. I think it would have looked better with block or trapezoidal inlays. I would definately recommend this guitar to someone on a budget.

Features : 8
The JT-200C is the "cherryburst" version of the Jay Turser Les Paul copy guitar. It has the typical features for a Les Paul copy. 22 fret rosewood fingerboard with plastic dot inlays, glued in set neck, chrome hardware, cream-color pickguard and pickup trim rings, two tone and two volume controls with gold-color speed style knobs, tune-o-matic style bridge, cream-color open coil humbucking pickups, Gotoh style tuning machines, white plastic nut, made in China. Obvious differences from a Gibon Les Paul include a totally different heatstock shape, slightly different curvature on the body cutaway, the "binding" around the body is painted on, and the guitar only weighs about half as much as a real Les Paul. Bought it new in 2004.

Sound : 6
The stock pickups were okay but not great. I replaced them right away. Since this guitar is made of much lighter wood than a Gibson, it doesn't have as much sustain as the real thing, but the overall sound is pretty close.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Much better than the average made-in-China guitar. I've owned about a dozen different Les Paul copies over the years, and I'd rate this near the top for fit and finish. The hardware fits very well; nothing loose or sloppy. The pickguard sits a little too close to the body, so the screw that holds the pickguard to the bracket scratches the body finish under it. There were a couple of scratches on the fingerboard new from the factory. The strap buttons were kind of small, so I replaced those with oversized units.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I play in a studio setting, so I can't really judge how well it would hold up under road conditions. Nothing has fallen off the guitar after a few hundred hours of playing, and I can't say the same for some of the other guitars I've owned.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with the company.

Overall Rating : 8
I'd give this one a solid 8 out of 10 for being a decent Les Paul copy. Definitely better than most of the other ones I've owned over the years, but also definitely not a Gibson.

Made in 2004, china. Les paul scale, solid top.
Generic humbuckers, mahogany back and neck, spruce(?) top.
Cherry sunburst Finish.
Grover style tuners, tune-o-matic bridge (soon to be a fishman powerbridge) gibson style neck joint and radius.
For a cheap guitar, this one is as good as it gets.

Sound : 8
Sounds a little muddy at times, but they are humbuckers...adding 4 push/pull pots to get coil tap and phasing, and series paralell options.

the pickups are slightly noisy, but they arent wax potted...that should fix them up...

use it through a 65 Blackface Bassman, with Metal Zone distortion, chorus Phlange, sustain, delay.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar played amazing when I bought it. The pickups needed a bit of adjustment. I got the guitar at discount price because of a chip in the finish, NOT an issue to me...adds character

The finish looks a little cloudy compared to a $2500 gibson, but at 1/10th the price...who cares!

the controls work fine, however will be changed for push/pull pots.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is an awesome guitar. I would leave my $1500 custom built strat-like guitar at home any day to play this live.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with the company, i get my repairs done by a "backyard mechanic" type luthier, who does AMAZING work. -Thanks Steve!

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 10 years. Would DEFINATELY replace this guitar if lost/stolen, but not before harming the perpetraitor greatly.
Plays just as nice as a $2500 gibson, feels like a $2500 Gibson, however, the sound isnt quite there...but can be changed with new pickups. Wish it had better Pickups, and possibly a bigsby trem.

Chinese Les Paul knock-off. 24 3/4 scale, 2V, 2T. 2 Factory Humbuckers. LP set neck copy. Awesome purple burst finish.

Sound : 3
Noisy!!! The pup's suck but for the price of the guitar you can upgrade pretty easily for under $100. I've pumped them through my PodXT and Marshall 1/2 stack with numerous tones and they are not very clear, muddy is the correct word. The guitar sounds very good clean or w/ very little distortion. Smaller amps suite them well!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Factory set up seems pretty good. Neck straight and everything seems tight. Stays in tune through a beating, but factory strings were ripped off about 30 minutes after it was plugged in. They literlly turned my fingers BLACK!! The Finish is pretty amazing at any price, the purple burst is great!!!!

Reliability/Durability : 8
Haven't played it live, but wouldn't hesitate too. Seems dependable so far (I have had it for about a month). Everything is tight and seems solid. Cheap gold hardware will rub off with play but then again for $125 it was a good deal.

Customer Support : 5
Haven't used but if I change the pup's it will void the warranty. It has to STAY origional.

Overall Rating : 7
Been playing for about 4 years. If the guitar was stolen... no big deal - so cheap I might buy another. The finish and color of the purple burst is what I like the most on the guitar. Pup's suck!!
It is a GREAT beginner or intermediate guitar. The action is very low which makes it play easier then other's I haved owned.

Chinese Les Paul knock-off. 24 3/4 scale, 2V, 2T. 2 Factory Humbuckers...your normal LP set neck copy. Beautiful Purple burst finish.

Sound : 8
Nice crunchy sound through my Old Fender Super Reverb and Boss Distortion pedal and nice at home through the little Roland DAC 15XD. Cleans up nicely, but I am a little unsure of the pick-ups. But at this price you can pick up a nice set of DiMarzio's or EMG's and still come out ahead!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Factory set up seems pretty good. Neck straight and everything seems tight. Stays in tune through a beating, but factory strings were ripped off about 2 seconds after it was plugged in. The Finish is pretty amazing at any price, the purple burst is great!!!!

Haven't played it live, but wouldn't hesitate too. Seems dependable so far (I have had it for about a week and a bit) and I think it will be a GREAT first guitar for my daughter if she chooses to learn!! Everything is tight and seems solid.

Never had to use it!!!

Overall Rating : 9
Been playing, on and off, for 20 years (God I am getting old). If this little beast was stolen I would replace it, you can't beat the quality for the price. I have an original 69 Mustang Competition, beautiful 80's Charvel, a Aria Pro II Deluxe V, and a nice little Kramer Fat Strat copy (although the last 2 are in pieces being "tinker" with)and this fits beautifully in the stable. With the exception of the Charvel, I think this little beast screams rock-n-roll, and sings the blues. At this price you can tinker with it and not worry about residual value and make your own customized Les Paul!!! Can't beat the VALUE!!! Bang for your Buck...definitly a 10+...but if you compare it to a PRS or even a genuine Les Paul at 10 times the price...I don't know...but because of the price, value, playability, and the fact that you have a inexpensive "blank canvas" that you can be happy with the way it is, or customize it without fear of loosing value, you can't beat it!!!!

Made in China, Solid Top with two Volume, Two tone, and a three way Switch. All built in the stlye of a Les Paul.. Two Humbuckers, Body is some sort of Hardwood as well as neck with a Rosewood Fretboard all in a Dark Green transparent finish which is Awesome..
Pickups are open, no chrome covers on this one...Could use a lil better tuners, but these are adequate, Generic Pickups but the sound is can be very crunchy with the right AMP

Sound : 9
This guitar like most Dual Humbucking Guitars can make about every sound you will ever need, easy to play and with my amp, a Peavey 112 Special which has great Reverb and Dist. at 160 watts sounds pretty darn good.. the gutioar has NO, I mean NO noise when I plug it in. NONE, not a single hum. On the Rythem Setting its Rich and Treble its Twangy just how it sould be with the middle being just right, with two volume and two tone knobs and the selector I can't see you wanting anything else unless you want super powerful pickups but you would have to install them on any guitar... The one thing I dislike is that with this guitar there are no Pickup covers to give it that classic look and also the inlay on the fretboard is just simple dots not the classic trapazoid or square inlay although both options are offered in the next step up, and for the $$$$ diff, I decided not to get those options, I could always get different pickups for what the price difference was.. I also own an Original Fender Deluxe 1962 with Vibrato and two channels that this guitar really sounds sweet through..

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Finish is near perfect... Easy top play, could come with better strings but thats an easy fix, Pickups were close, I tried to slide some Nickel pickup covers over the pickups but it screwed up the angle of the pickup, just didn't fit quite right, I don't know if its the guitar or the covers... Everything was spic and span when I got it, real nice looking Axe...

Reliability/Durability : 9
Who knows.. I assume it would last just fine, I have had the pickups in and out looking at them about 4 times and they seem to be well made... I was installing and trying to get the covers on which i could but the pickup would sit wrong and I couldn't get it right so i took them back off, this guitar came without covers so i put on aftermarket ones and it just wasn't quite right so i took them back off..

Customer Support : 4
I have no clue, but I do know I emailed them and still haven't heard back and its been over a week.. Had a simple question about these covers going on and what the specs on their pickups were..

Overall Rating : 9
I have played on and off for about 15 years, not ever progressing far but plincking around mostly... I have an old Kay Hollow Body and a Hohner Acoustic but I have played other guitars, my Brother owns a Gibson SG and I have played that and I would have no problem saying this guitar sounds similar, He replaced his Duncans with another style of Hums. More Powerful ones but the brand escapes me...

I bought my JT-200-C from EBay purchase - $172.50 + $28 s/h. It's an LP copy with alder body (my guess since it's really light) with a maple top, dyed green finish wih creme binding on body, nice polyurethane finish, comfortable medium neck with shallow d profile and jumbo frets, creme open coil generic humbuckers with creme mounting rings. Gibson style volume/tone knobs, chrome machines, bridge and tailstop. Dot fret markers and tasteful fine script inlay on headstock. Plastic nut will be replaced with graphite as soon as I get it into the shop.

Sound : 7
Alder body with humbuckers gives a nice hybrid LP/Tele tone that is thinner than a true LP but not unpleasant. Variety is as much as a standard LP with the three position switch, which is what was expected. Wiring is typical of lower priced instruments but not bad, seems fairly noise free. I plan on replacing the pickups with EMG 81/89's or Duncan JBs so all wiring will be replaced at the time with a custom PRS style 5 position switch where the toggle is right now like a Framus.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
guitar arrived in cardboard box and was pretty much ready to play, just needed tuning and off we went. Frets reasonably well dressed with no divots or loss of crown from shipping. Green dye is very dark and attractive, a big surprise since even though I saw pics before buying I didnt think it would be so dark and as a result very attractive. Very minor small dents in finish can be buffed out with buffing compound and no damage to wood. Overall, the EBay retailer did a great job of setup since the action wont require any extensive work and any setup will be only from replacing the nut.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I havent really had the chance to put it thru a night of hard pounding but I really believe it will withstand the playing. With the lightweight wood and construction I think it will be really pleasant to play compared to something heavier, especially after two hours of jumping and dancing around on stage. Finish should last long enough but I dont see having the finish wearing off on the neck as being a detriment - as long as it doesnt rub off within a year or two it would add character to a decent generic instrument.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing or over 25 years on all sorts of instruments - Les Pauls, SGs, strats, Lados, PRSs and various copies of all the above. Over the years I've come to discover that as long as the copy instrument is decent in construction and is properly set up with some changes in electronics you can have an instrument which is just as powerful and playable as an original. Dont look at this JT-200C as being as good as an original LP from the glory years, but if you place it against the Gibson LP Studios or Epiphones available now it's head and shoulders above them for construction, fit and finish. A past Epiphone with similar features I owned had the fretboard fracture from the neck for no reason. The repairman told me that it was a common problem for Epiphones due to inferior adhesive used, but this instrument should be better in that regard. Once I replace the pickups and wiring with PRS McCartys, EMG 89s or SD Seth Lovers I seriously think it will be better than any Gibson, Epiphone or ESP on the shelf. FOR THE MONEY this is a very good instrument which can be someone's main guitar for a long long time.
