I play a lot of old rock, bluesy stuff, and a few more modern tunes and this guitar has the versitility to play them all. I play through a Mesa Boogie Nomad 45 and a Peavey Renoun 400 amps using Behringer Compressor followed by a Behringer stereo chorus to split the signal to both the amps. I usually but not always do the one amp clean and one amp dirty thing for rythym and both dirty for my lead work. I have had no noise problems even on the highest gain settings. Sound is Pristine clean (has that little ringing bell tone on the high end) with very good response to to each string and how it is played. Dirty you have plenty of crunch and surprising clarity for any dual humbucker guitar. Chimes and harmonics are great especially on the bridge PUP. The range of tone and volume adjustments on all three swith positions produced sounds ranging from almost too bright too way too muddy. Excellent combined PUP sound. The fun you will have getting to know this guitar will keep you smiling for a long time. I really didn't have any dislikes to speak of. My questions would be "what's not to like?" Not a 10 because I have not heard a 10 yet have you I would give it a 9.8 though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
2006 JT200dlx with gold top finish, block inlays, gold hardware etc... The guitar came with a very good setup and played well out of the box. Action was 3/64 bass side 2/64 treble which is a little low for how hard I play. The nut action was just a little high at about 12 thousands of an inch. Necks curvature was a little high at just about 14 thousands of an inch. Minimal fret buzz approaching the 14th frett because it was just a touch high. Pups were set at 5/64 bass 4/64 treble on both pups. Sustain was good. Minor flaws in the bindings on both the neck and body. Tuning keys could have been prettier, had visible casting marks. Gold top portion of the finish is simply beautiful and flawless as is the rest of the finish.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Guitar is solid enough, but, I never play out without at least one back up! I prefer a strat type, a gibson type, and a coverall type. If I had to pick one guitar to take gigging I would choose my ESP LTD H-400 first my 91 Fender Prodigy second. Based on known reliablity and versitility of sound that both these guitar can provide. If I could take two I would take the JT 200 and my Washburn X33 because they sound just that little bit better and are more fun to play.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Lifetime Warranty? I have never had to test it 3 of my 11 guitars are Jay Turser's. I just play em and change the strings. I do clean them sometimes lol.

Overall Rating : 10
Playing 25+ years. I own a PA system, 10 guitars (1 fender, 1 takamine electric 1 acustic, washburn, johnson, ESP etc...)Washburn Bass, and behringer bass amp, yamaha keyboard, tascam .....I have plenty of stuff to make music with. I would buy this exact guitar again and again. I changed the strings (Dean Markley .009 Blue Steel), leveled the frets, and then totally resetup the guitar (intonation, string height at both the nut and neck, and PUP height, the works...) to my specs and the guitar went from very good to my favorite. Enough said! My Gibson Les Paul buddies say there is very little difference in how the neck plays and the sound/tone is comparable yet different. No one could believe that it was a $199.00 guitar. Granted I would not let them touch it until I finished working it over. This guitar is not as heavy as a Les Paul but, it is very close. I compared this with other Les Paul copies mainly worried about price since I was looking for a project guitar. I ended up with a lot more QUALITY than I thought I was getting and will end up replacing probably only the tuning keys mostly due to my preferences. A real Gibson Les Paul is noticably superior in fit, finish, and craftsmanship to this JT 200 D Gold Top guitar as it came to me. The wood, electonics, and hardware on the Gibson are of a noticably higher quality. This guitar normally runs about $321 at Musicland Central as well as sew fine guitars and is hard to find in a Gold top finish. I changed nothing on this guitar. When I leveled the frets the amount of fret material I had to remove to get her just about perfect was less than 3 thousands of an inch on the highest fret. I don't particularly care for the tuning keys and will probably replace latter with a set of Grover green keys but as far as functionallity goes they are fine. This guitar is full of bang for the buck and has plenty of potential to be even more. 10 - FANTASTIC VALUE is fair for the value I got for the price I paid!

Beautiful guitar, beautiful inlay and gold hardware. But, when changing the strings, nut broke. Bought off E-Bay - musiclandcentral and not happy with customer service. Took to a professional to have nut replaced and properly set-up. Much better!
This is my second Jay Turser, the first is a Jazz, and I love it!

Sound : 10
Outstanding sound, rich! Started learning this year and playing easy songs. Hope to move up to jazz.
No dislikes as far as sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Now that I had this professionally set up, cleaned and new strings, it is worth the money I paid. Action is smooth and is fun to play.
Would have been nice is the guitar came properly set up but.......

Reliability/Durability : 8
Hopefully this will be a reliable guitar, I'm not planning on playing live, just want to have fun and enjoy learning how to play!

Still waiting to hear from Jay Turser. The seller via E-Bay had poor service. But all is well since it has been professionally set up!

Overall Rating : 9
This is just a nice guitar! Even the gentleman that set it up stated the same. Would not hesitate to buy another Jay Turser. I love both of mine.

Built 2004, same features as the rest,I bought the "Flamed" version, yes it is veneer. Paid $321 shipped to my door. Set neck, fake klusons and all gold hardware.

Sound : 10
Overall great sounding guitar. Pickup upgrade would make it Awsome. Very quiet, pots are very smooth and quiet. Vast sound potential.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Mine was not setup from the factory as advertised so I did myself. Action is outstanding! Meets or exceeds Gibson Les Paul specs in fret to bottom of string adjustment. Top IS veneer, but looks splendid! My guitar had a couple of "Issues" more on that later.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Will see, seems built very well and solid, no complaints.

Customer Support : 1
Non-exsistent, "Lifetime Warranty" is a joke as there appears to be no Warranty dept. My guitar was bought from Musiclandcentral and had a couple of bent tuners and the pickup toggle was non-functional,said they would send me replacement parts...have not seen them yet.I put in a new toggle and installed a set of tuners I had, now it shines.

Overall Rating : 9
First of all...don't pay much heed to txfeller's comments, this is actually a very good guitar for the price. Who would even think...to compare a $300 fake les paul to the real thing? Ya, msrp is near $600 but I have never seen one that high. The deluxe "Elite" I have was $321..no it's no Gibson...but..it IS a damn good guitar with great action and decent sound. I would have give them a 10 here too if it were not for the total lack of customer service, then again that could just be who I bought from. I did a lot of research on les paul "Copies" and for the money this guitars is SWEET! I figure people reading these reviews are doing it for the same reason as me and thats because they can't afford the real deal, but love the look and sound quality of the les paul design. Good choice if you have better luck with customer support...if you need it.

Beautiful guitar; bought it new off of E-Bay. Big frets with beautiful inlay, set neck, awesome natural wood finish and gold harware (which is my least favorite part...what's with all the gold on custom guitars?) Just an excellent single cutaway guitar.

Sound : 10
The sound is fantastic! It has such a thick tone on the rhythm humbucker, and shreds on the treble. I play out constantly, punkish, alternative type music, and this guitar lives up to it all without missing a step. I run through a Marshall valvestate with a crybaby, and ibanez chorus/flange and a tubescreamer. Simply put, incredible sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar, unbelieveably, came to me in ready to play condition. And by ready to play, i mean that it was even completely in tune. How the hell does that happen? There wasn't a fingerprint on it, and the finish on theis guitar shimmers. Wicked. I own a bunch of other guitars, an Ibanez RG and Satch, an SG, ES-335, Chet Atkins, and, the king, a PRS Custom 24; and let me put it to you this way: the action on this Turser completely rivals the PRS.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Thick as a brick. I see no problems, and as I play, I can't imagine there ever being any.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them....but it's a lifetime warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing seriously for about 8 years now, and plan on stocking up on Turser guitars before the prices jump, because this secret can't stay down for long. I originally chose this guitar on looks, and all i hoped for was a nice looking guitar that could sit a solid second saddle to the PRS. Now what I have is an incredible value that sometimes puts my PRS to shame. I never thought those words would come out of my mouth.

2004 JT-200DLX, Blonde, gold hardware, same details in the other posts, abalony inlays.

Sound : 10
Excellent sound (Metal, rock, classic tunes). Guitar was set up from dealor where purchased. Plug it in to the right effects petal and amp, and the sound is amazing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
As already stated, purchased guitar from a dealer already set up by a pro, plays awesome. Flawless finish.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Seems very solid and built to last. The pro who set it up (plays les paul's in a band for over 2o years was very impressed). I don't need no stinking backup!

Been playing off and on for 20 years, still a rookie, but am getting serious now. I compared Agile's, epi's, Samick's and Tursers. I am extremely happy with this turser. Got a chance to play with an epi sunburst and found NO differences in the looks or playability. This is a truly stunning guitar for the money. Mr. TX had probably never had even seen one of these guitars before, so I would not buy one thing his review states. If it was that bad, why did he not send it back?? I am 100% impressed with this guitar and would HIGHLY reccomend it to anyone looking for a LP copy at an excellent price. Feel free to e-mail me and I would be happy to share my thoughts personally with you.

Basically a cheap chinese made Les Paul Custom copy. Lots of eye candy....Gold hardware, really nice fret inlays, set neck. But buyer beware - What is advertised as 3 ply binding is actually paint! I'm not kidding! And the body is made up of 3 or 4 slabs of ugly maple....at least I think that's what it is... covered with veneer on the sides, top, and bottom. Neck is maple and the fretboard is supposed to be rosewood, but it doesn't look like any rosewood I've ever seen. It looks kind of like pressboard. Probably chinese poison oak or some kind of sh-t like that.

Sound : 1
If fret buzz is your sound, this is the axe you want!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
It's too bad that the rating doesn't go into the negative column because I swear that a blind, retarded, inbred monkey could have done a better job setting up this guitar. The nut slots were so d-mn deep that I had to file a full 3/16 of an inch off the top just to expose the strings. Then had to file the nut itself to set it up as the string height was still too high and totally uneven. On top of that, it looks as if whoever installed the neck forgot what he was doing in mid process. The neck is set at a godawful horrible angle. At the neck joint, It's high on the top side and leans to the back. Although the neck responds well to the truss rod, there is no way to get rid of string buzz until the neck is reset.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
No way in h-ll would I try to gig with this guitar. Nor would I recommend it for that purpose.

Yeah, you bet....I quit trying to deal with customer support people a long time ago.

I've played off and on for about 40 years, mostly on stage. I've got a couple of old Les Pauls that I use along with an amp I built that has so much punch it'll blow a loud drummer smooth off the stage.
I got this guitar for my granddaughter to learn on, and in spite of it's faults it will be great for that. Actually the main thing that bothers me is that this thing lists for a totally outragous $560. for such terrible quality.

standard features as said on www.jayturser.com

I have to admit the inlay work is a little shotty, but no one can tell that from the front row!

Sound : 10
Awesome sound. I'm just the rhythm in my band so I'm not too picky on lead sound, but rhythm sounds awesome. Good clean and crunch.
I was gonna put a duncan pickup in it but I think I will leave well enough alone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
All I had to do was tune it. I will probably adjust the intonation a little, but that is it. It came ready to play.

Reliability/Durability : 10
If it didn't say jay turser at the top, this would be a epiphone.
nuff said.

none. but I don't think i will need it.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for like seven years. I'm the singer in my band and use this for rhythm. It is perfect for this capacity. It looks like i spent three grand on this guitar, but I didn't even spend three hundred. That is awesome. If this guitar doesn't get me some chicks, then there is just something wrong with me.
