This guitar has a pretty wide variety of features for such a cheap guitar. The selector switch alows you to get many different types of sounds out of it. The only problem with it's features, is the tone knobs don't change the sound at all! But all in all not bad.

Sound : 4
Don't get me wrong this guitar is not horrible sounding it's just not great for my style. I play rock, hard rock, and 70's-80's metal. And you don't get any real good tones out of it for this type of music. But for grunge it's not that bad. I don't usually play grunge but if i'm using this guitar sometimes I DO. So if you want a guitar that's good for grunge this is not a bad guitar to start with.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Don't buy this guitar if your a lead guitarist and you need a backup guitar or you will be in alot of trouble. This is not a good guitar for playing quickly or soloing due to the action. I got this guitar set up too and it didn't really help. The pickups weren't adjusted well either which really didn't help at all.

Reliability/Durability : 6
I have had this guitar for a while and it is real hard to damage the body and neck. But the strap buttons have fallen off and i had to get brand new ones they were so cheap. So if you get this guiar be sure to get knew strap buttons.

Never deal with'em!

Overall Rating : 2
This guitar is alright for playing real slow and basic rythms but anything other than that and you'll be in trouble. It is made rather cheaply and does not produce ideal sound.

Brand 2005 model new made in China with 21 frets. Beautiful purple staine body which I think is Solid Basswood. Standard Strat passive single coil 3 Pick ups. One piece maple neck with nice rosewood fret board with the gorgeous vine inlay. Tuners are good. Standard non-locking trem.

Sound : 9
Great sounding guitar and I do agree with the other reviews, it's a bit thin sounding, but, hey, that's why you have tone controls on your amps. Excellent strat tones, great for recording!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Perfect condition right out of the box. Nice fresh set of DiMarrzio .009 strings. I lowered the action a bit to where it plays fast. No problem, very little buzzing. Plays great all over the neck. Intonation was right on which you would expect since they put the same strings on every guitar. The trem needs to be modified to stay in tune - blocking and graphite nut and string trees will do it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Yes, it will stand live playing. Good parts including the strap buttons. All the screws were nice and tight.

Customer Support : 7
Don't need them yet. I put graphite nut and string trees on it, so that nullifies my warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
It's a beautiful guitar that plays and sounds great. This guitar made by a Fender would easily cost upwards of $800. Great deal for under $200!

2002 made in china,2vol.2tone,5way switcking,s/s/s,strat body stile.

Sound !!! well that area can be worked on. Thin and canny sounding, JT should put a little time in this area. I parted the pickups out for a set of Carvins AP11's. What a differance nice bottom end and nice top end just a fuller tone all around.Depending on witch switching position your in you can play anything from classic rock, blues, jazz, etc. I've been playing since 64.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
great action right out of the box, intonation was real good too.sunburst finish is real nice, neck is great and fast, nice fit to body.

Cost 250.00 new. Auction sites list it for much less.
This is Jay Turser custom shop China Made Strat Copy. Beautiful vine inlay, near-flawless tobacco sunburst colors. Silver hardware, S/S/S pickups with 5 way switch. Ordinary neck, hardware, etc. Very Lightweight dual cutaway *strat* shape body. Well done, and extraordinary for the money, but not a tone monster.

Sound : 7
Pickups are a wee bit thin. Some Fret Buzzing. Inconsistent fret height. Excess inlay on neck causes an interesting feel, and I think impacts the sound some. Except for the thin sounding pickups, electronics are perfect. The finish on the guitar is deep, but it looks about a quarter of an inch thick. The body has no tone-mojo.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Finish was so-so. On the one hand, it looks spectacular. The colors in the tobacco sunburst are just perfect. On the other hand, the frets buzz, the action is a little high, the pickups are thin. I guess it is set up as well as it can be, given the cost.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This is a strength. Even though it is light-weight, all of the strat copy parts seem very well constructed. It fits my Fender hard shell strat case snugly. The only knock is that the parts ARE strat parts, copied and assembled in china. I would expect that sooner or later, something will go on this. But I'd guess it would provide many years of good use.

Playing since 1978. Owned lots of amps, guitars, pedals, keyboards, bass guitars, harmonicas and more stuff. 2 Gibson SG's, 4 Fender Strats, 1 Fernandez strat copy, 2 Ovation 12 strings, peavey amps, marshall amps, roland amps, boss amps,
One thing that I wish??? I wish I would have test played one, side by side with other guitars. It just looks so beautiful - I have thought of listing it on Ebay, But they sell so cheap there. I don't want to take a bath. I might try installing a different neck and some different pickups. That might make a difference. The body is beautiful, and maybe I can sell the neck on Ebay.

If it were lost, I would replace it with something else. Maybe Id spring for one of them custom shop strats. I don't think I'd get another Jay Turser.
