Sound

It sounds like most strat copies for the most part. Thin and twangy. With some adjustment of the pickup heights I got the sounds I was looking for. I don't think it is nicer than a good made in Mexico strat, but I'm sure it's better than some MIM strats.
It has some great sounds, maybe not all the great sounds or exactly the great sounds you are looking for from a strat.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:No Opinion
I can't comment on factory fit and finish as I got mine used and whoever was playing it before must have been in pain from the string height. But, this is a $50 guitar so I worked on it myself. Did some searches online and taught myself how to level the frets and file nut slots and set intonation and now it has VERY low and fast action. What I learned from working on it is worth the $50.
Reliability/Durability

The finish will last. It's like vinyl or plastic or something. The wood underneath is soft, which is why this guitar is so light. Mine's been beat up and still makes music.

I've been playing for a long time. I am a gigging hobby-ist. I am an anti gear snob and love the fact that I can buy a guitar for $50, put a little work into it, make it my own and make great music with it.
Every guitar tone is the perfect guitar tone for some situation. If I like the way it feels in my hands and it stays in tune I'll find a way to get the sounds I want out of it.
Buy this guitar and teach yourself how to work on guitars.
I'm rating this guitar high for value

What year was it made? Where was is made? (Japan, Mexico, USA, etc...) I'M SURE IT WAS PROBABLY MADE IN CHINA AS MOST GUITARS ARE. WELL, AT LEAST IN THE PAWN SHOPS!
Which controls are given (volume, tone, 5-way selector, 3-way, tap, etc...)? TYPICAL STRAT CONFIG!
How does it suit your music style (and what is that style)? IT'S VERY TWANGY. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE SOUND.
Rich/Full sound? Bright sound? THIN SOUNDING SINGLE COILS. NOT BAD!
What kind of sounds can the guitar make? How much variety?5-WAY SELECTOR SWITCH.
Likes and dislikes? NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE! $75. WOULD'VE BEEN COOLER WITH A MAPLE FRETBOARD.

ACTION WAS GREAT!
PICKUPS WERE LOW AND I RAISED THEM.
SOME FINISH CRACKS. NOTHING MAJOR.

I THINK IT WOULD BE RELIABLE. THE HARDWARE SEEMS LIKE IT WILL LAST. THIS IS JUST A GUITAR AROUND THE HOUSE GUITAR. I DIDN'T BUY IT BECAUSE IT WOULD BE WORTH SOMETHING. I MIGHT EVEN SOUP IT UP. I'M NOT SURE YET.

OVERALL AT $75, I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT DEAL. FINDING QUALITY STRATS AT LOW PRICES ARE KINDA HARD, BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE. IF THIS GOT STOLEN, IT WASN'T A MAJOR LOSS. I'M GONNA TINKER AROUND WITH IT AND POSSIBLY SOUP IT UP WITH BETTER PICKUPS.

Standard Strat Model, beautiful clear natural finish , no flaws
Can't say enough about it . for $100 NEW Shipped it has to be the best deal for a strat type electric on the market
Sound

Sounds just fine to me, very easy to play. I've had several cheapy strats, and this one is far better quality wise than any of the previous ones. great attention to detail. Used with a Zoom G1X + Fender FM65 AMP
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action and intonation were perfect out of the box, altho strings were light , changed to fender 11-46. VERY Easy to play, very smooth neck, looks and plays like a much more expensive model. Still can't believe they can produce such a fine electric for this price.

Hardware & tuners seem to be top notch, would have no problem gigging with this guitar. Seems just as good as one costing hundreds more

Been playing 30+ years, mainly acoustic. Yes I would definitely replace it if lost. I've given away a couple other cheapy strats to less fortunate friends , but this ones a keeper...

Mine was a brand new factory 2nd I got on Ebay for 50 bucks on a whim one night. It isn't perfect, but not bad either. Several flaws on the neck and body and the pick guard has frays around the edges. Vintage Sunburst Strat copy with the standard hardware and tremelo bar. The neck is thin and the guitar is feather lite, but guess what? To my surprise this is a pretty good sounding little axe and very easy to play.
Sound
:7
The sound is surprisingly good. Clean, no buzzing and this thing stays in tune pretty well. The strings are crap, but for little more than FREE, what the hell.
Action, Fit, & Finish

This is a shock. My JT-300 was set up very well right out of the box. Great action, no buzz, sounds very good out of my Micro Cube practice amp and the half-stack. The overall fit and finish of the major components is very good. The paint and surface finishes do not hold up to close scrutiny, but it plays really nice and I own a few guitars from over 25 years of playing.

This thing will wear out and I am looking forward to seeing how long it will take. Again, I only parted with $50 for this guitar and it is the best money I ever spent. An identical one to mine is selling at my favorite music store for $185.00. In all fairness, they are great guys that stand behind what they sell and have been dealing Turser almost since the beginning and they love the products, so I am a believer already. I would use it to play out, but not wothout backup.

I started playing 27 years ago. Mostly as a hobby, but have been on stage a few times. Truthfully, my guitars can collect dust for months on end between work and kids, but for the casual intermediate or beginner player, you CANNOT go wrong with one of these...even if you wound up paying retail. So, in summary, $50 (brand new-factory second) for the guitar on Ebay, $6 for a tremelo bar, it looks nice, plays very well, can handle rockin for an hour or so each night and stays in tune. How can you not love this guitar??

For what it costs, it's a dang nice looking guitar. Mine is the moss green color, but its finish is slightly transparent and the wood grain is visible through the top coat. For appearance / cost, it's a steal. It's made in China.

I use a 30W Crate, and I get pretty good sound. The tonal variations with the p/u selectors is good. I like rock/hard rock and it's not quite made for that but it comes close.

Alright, the first guitar I got, the truss rod was frozen and couldn't be adjusted. I therefore wanted a replacement. Jay Turser's warranty was no problem, but it took them about 8 weeks to get another guitar back to me all told. The replacement: I still have a few spots of fret buzz on a few places (2 large strings on a few frets).

Dunno if it'll withstand live. Very solid strap buttons. Don't think I'd trust a $110 guitar to a performance!

Yep, got warranty help and the folks were very helpful and friendly - it just took a loooooong time for the replacement to show up. If I bought the guitar from a shop I bet the issue wouldn't have been as much as a headache, since I bought it from a cool online store... but if something happens to your JT and you have to ship it back, be warned. Have a second guitar to play in the meantime!

I wouldn't replace this JT300 if it were to disappear, but that's not really a reflection on it. I've only been playing for a few months. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably not do anything different. YOu get a decent guitar for the amount of money you pay, definitely. I added a black pickguard to mine, and I love how it looks more now. I've owned a more expensive Fender Strat, and I like this JT more even though the JT cost less. Also briefly owned a Washburn and this JT sounds better, although the amp I had with that wasn't as good/powerful. I told myself I'd not buy another guitar online, but I just did. I ordered a Jay Turser 200D Les Paul tobacco sunburst model that I'm dying to get my hands on. Based on Jay Turser's effective warranty record, I went ahead and got another Jay Turser guitar. Overall I have nothing negative to say about their guitars or them as a manufacturer.

My JT-300 has your standard Strat copy's features;
*Gloss black finish
*Stratocaster style body
*Vintage Fender style bridge w/ vibrato bar
*Standard non locking tuners (Hold tune fairly well)
*Thin maple neck w/ 21 frets and a rosewood fretboard
*2 Tone controls and 1 Volume control
*Three single coil pickups
*5 way switching (positions 2 and 4 are hum cancelling)
*Passive electronics
*Not sure of body wood. Plywood, Basswood, Alder?
I bought this guitar second hand for $40, so I couldn't have asked for more features, honestly.
Sound
:8
This guitar suits my music styles just fine. The bridge and neck pickups are fairly warm and jangly sounding, but the middle pickup is tinny, with no character at all, which comes as no surprise because most mid position single coils are like that, even on Fenders. I just sunk mine into the pickguard.
I run this guitar through both a Marshall MG10CD, and a Peavy Windsor, and it sounds great on both. As for effects, I use a Dunlop Crybaby, Boss 10 band EQ, and a couple of other effects.
The pickups are surprisingly quiet, given how cheap the guitar was. Now, if you get near a computer monitor or something, there's a fair amount of noise, but it's not bad. In positions 2 and 4, there is very little if any noise.
The bridge pickup sounds kind of jangly, the neck pickup is warm, and the mid pickup is tinny. Of course, I sunk the middle pickup all the way to the pickguard, since I don't use it.
Overall, I really like the guitar's sound, minus the middle pickup.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
I wouldn't know about factory setup, since I bought it used, but it was set up well, and played easily.
The pickups were adjuisted fine as well.
And there are no visible flaws.
Reliability/Durability
:10
This guitar will most definitely withstand live playing. It's solid as a rock. The hardware is tough, as is the chrome plating on all the parts. The finish is nigh indestructible, as it's polyurethane, which basically means it's a thick coat of tough plastic over the body of the guitar. The strap buttons were tiny and didn't hold the guitar, but at $40, I could afford to buy a pair of Straplocks along with the guitar. It's definitely dependable. I would not use it in a gig without a backup, because that's just stupid. I wouldn't use any guitar without a backup. Period.
Customer Support

Can't give this a rating, but I haven't even needed to use it because my guitar is so solid. I consider not even needing to contact them good customer support in itself.

I've been playing for about a year and a half, and own a Fender Standard Stratocaster, and an Ibanez GSA60, along with a couple amps and pedals. I don't at all regret investing $40 in this instrument, as it's served me well. I love the whole guitar, and hate nothing except for the middle pickup, and one of my tuners, but nothing more. I did not compare it to any other guitars, as I bought it on a whim, I justr chose it because it was cheap.
Overall this was one of, if not the best investment I've made in my 16 years. I would most definitely recommend it if the price was right, without a doubt.

Sound

I play mostly rock and indie (The Pixies, Radiohead, Modest Mouse-type stuff) and it suits my needs well. I'm also in a hardcore/punk band but I find the sound is too light and too blues-y for that. I'm probably going to get an Epiphone Les Paul for my hardcore needs. Right now i'm running it through a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal into a Kustom KGA10 for practice and a Fender FM210 for gigs (normally mic'd and run through a PA). It sounds really nice through both amps, which is suprising for such a low price. I've compared it to a mexican strat at it's at least as good, and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Nice paintjob (translucent red). I bought it at a local shop which sets up all their guitars themselves so i can't say how the factory set-up is.
Reliability/Durability

I have gigged with it many times without a backup and i've never had a problem. The only thing is it needs heavy strings. The pickguard is pretty cheap and scratches easily, but i fixed that problem by getting a Fender pearloid pickguard for it.

All in all, this is a very solid guitar, and great for the price. It's at least as good as any Squier Strat or Fender Mexican Strat. Good beginner guitar, or for anyone on a budget.

In all honesty if you really like the guitar and plan on playing for years to come...go buy a better guitar,(like a dillion) if you just want to try it out, this is a better deal than a MIM stat. Me and my friend call this thing the TERD-SER.

Solid body, bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fretboard- 21 medium frets, made in China. 1 volume, two tone knobs, 5-way selector. Trasparent dark green finish. Strat style s/s/s pickup configuration. Came with gig bag, strap, hex wrenches and cable.
Sound
:8
I really do like the sound of this guitar, because it's a very clean and well-defined tone when it's used through. The single coils are just as quiet as humbuckers as long as there's nothing (like a computer screen or flourescent lights) that interferes. As far as overdrive and distortion goes, this guitar can't handle high settings. I don't like the way it sounds when heavily driven/distorted because the sound is thin and tinny. However you can get some great sounds with slight distortions, so it's great for classic rock but if you want sustain, you shouldn't be getting this guitar.
There's a big tonal variety available thanks to the 5-way switch and tone knobs, they actually do make a difference when it just doesn't sound right. I can get sharp or mellow and anything in between. I use a Zoom effects pedal and a couple small practice amps, but sometimes I just love to plug this in clean with some headphones.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:5
The action starts off too high at the nut, so it causes some bad sounding open chords straight from the factory. The intonation was right on from anywhere else on the fretboard though. I didn't care for the strings it came with, so I put some Ernie Balls on them, and the sound was fuller and the bad sound of open chords was less noticeable. I lowered the action at the bridge upon changing the strings, but it wasn't much help since it was so high at the nut.
I raised the middle and neck pickups a little, but the bridge pickup was hot enough for me where it was.
FLAWs: The nut wasn't cut well, I had to file it a bit and widen the cuts because tuning was terrible due to the strings getting lodged in place. The pickguard assembly is screwed on crooked, and the screwing for the whammy bar was stripped- so when I tried to take it out after using it for the first time, the cheap bar snapped inside the bridge- there goes the resell value of the guitar... that made me angry about the guitar for a while... but I warmed up to it now, and find myself playing it more than my Les Paul copy even though the Les Paul Copy plays better with better action at the nut and better fret dressings.
Reliability/Durability

Well besides the whammy bar incident the guitar is pretty solid, and the input jack doesn't move at all. The finish is pretty damn nice too.

I've been playing for almost a year with another Jay Turser, a les paul copy. I wanted a clean strat style sound for cheap, and that's what I got. It's definitely not a strat... yet... I want to get it set up a bit. The single coils are a good change of pace for me. Aside from the pickguard assembly job and the whammy incident, the guitar is well put together. I love strumming on this thing, it really is a great value

for $20 you can change out the insides to make the guitar sound pretty good. overall, i will give the guitar a 5. reason being is that it had cheap parts which i had to replace because i wasn't happy with the initial sound. i do like that the guitar is practically weightless.
