The Turser Tele copy I have is a vintage series. Very much like a Tele except that the strings go through the bridge as opposed to through the body.

Sound : 9
This guitar sounds "authentic" and definitely has that Tele twang. Compared to my other Teles it has just as distinct pickups. There seems to be a slight hissing sound on Bridge and Neck positions, which disappears in the middle position. For those that have RI Telecasters, you know that the pickups are far from noiseless. The Turser Tele definitely has a great vibe

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
In my opinion one should not count on factory setup no matter what guitar. The guitar was flawless and the local shop filed the nut slots for a better fit. The tuning pegs/machine heads are not top quality but are more than acceptable. Although functioning well, the pickup selector is a tad loose. One amazing thing and apparently doesn't happen often...not sure... the body of my Turser Tele is one piece. The finish on the guitar is almost Fender quality.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Haven't used it extensively, but looks solid. My only concern are the machine heads/tuners...that is easily changed...and hopefully won't be necessary. I changed the strap buttons as the seemed not too deep. That being said, my Turser Tele is a vintage series that looks alot, and I mean alot like a 54 Telecaster, down to the strap button. I would suggest to refrain from flicking the pickup selector switch too hard...

Customer Support : No Opinion
The shop where I bought it offers as many setups as you want for 1 year and did a setup immediately and changed the not so good factor strings. So I refer more to the shop than the manufaturer.

Overall Rating : 10
In general, the quality of made in china is very high compared to 5-10 years ago. These Tursers are really a huge bang for the buck. I bought this guitar as a second Tele...I do have a beautiful Fender MIJ. I wanted a second one with a maple fretboard and a more twangy sound. This is why I bought this. I find this guitar exceptional and it has a great vintage vibe to it. I own many top end guitars (Gibson, Fender, Custom)...These Tursers are impressive and in my opinion are better instruments than the current squires. What sold me was the vintage look and some details such as radiussed frets, aged finish on the neck and the solid heavy wood.

Features : 9
Pretty straight forward. Tele like guitar - made in China all JT hardware. Pretty light but solid. Seems odd to rate the features - I bought it for what it had for features - so I should probably give it 10 ... but a 9 will do. I wanted an inexpensive, not cheap, tele - more on that below.

Sound : No Opinion
Sounds great through a great amp - my Fender Delux -NO issues there - sounds great on a Kustom 16R Arrow too! Bit scratchy controls but that's likely dust - it was four years old and sitting around ... needs a cleaning. I'll likey upgrade the pots for something to do but it likely doesn't need it.

I've never owned or played a tele - this is why I bought it and I LOVE the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Ok ... for what I paid for this, next to nothing, this guitar is REMARKABLE to say the least. No flaws, no fit issues, decent action which has likely never been tweaked by the original owner.

Reliability/Durability : 9
We'll I'll never do any rock jumps, spins, flips with it so I am SURE it will be fine. I don't play out and so it will definitely meet my needs. Harware is all firm and inplace except the input jack ... loose - big deal - happens to nearly every guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Like for what they cost ... if you get a lemon I am sure they'll take care of you. I've owned three or four JT's and I emailed them on my last one asking what it was made from - got a reply the next day ... works for me!

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've played for 20 odd years and that's how my playing sounds ... odd. I am an owner of several guitars, know lots about them but I suck cuz I don't have or spent the time to learn ... however ... must say - this guitar is HARD to put down - it is a very comfortable little axe to sit around and strum. I've been waffling on buying one for some time and saw this deal ... wish I would have bought one earlier ... I buy and sell all the time - this one is a keeper for sure. Will likely do some mods to improve upon it but really it doesn't need it. Lost or stolen? Would I get another - ya, dang right I would.

2008 china. 21 frets. 25" scale. Claims to be solid poplar (think balsa wood) and maple neck. Volume, tone, 2 way selector, Metal covered single coil neck and single coil bridge pickup - unknown neck. Pick guard has to be removed to adjust neck pickup. Adjustment of neck pickup towards strings is almost nonexistant. Transparent polyurethane finish over paisley top. Blue body. Nice finish. Tele style body withc classic 3 piece saddle config. Tuners seem ok, they are noname brand. Comes with cable, hex for truss rod and hex for saddles.

Sound : 1
used with a 1970 Champ Amp and a Marshall. Its not noisy. In fact its too quiet. The pickups put out about 67% of the sound of a simnilar tele at the same volume. It is neither rich nor full. I didn't find anything to like about the sound, even for $140 it stinks. I know its all relative but this is a toy and nothing more. I have other chinese tele style guitars that run circles around this thing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
Setup was fine. The strings were what you would expect. The pickups were low and the neck pickup height is basically a down only proposition after you remove the pickguard that is! The wood is so soft that when you pass a string through the body it gets caught up in the mush that they call solid wood so you have to keep poking it in and out till it makes it through to the bridge. The guitar was poorly packaged and had a stress crack around 2 inches long rasdiating from the left lower neck plate screw. Outside of that, the action was ok. the finish is very nice and the pieces all fit nicely. No oxidation. No warping.

Reliability/Durability : 1
Fortget about it. If you are thinking about this as something other than a first guitar for a 10 year old, look elsewhere. You can do better even with another chinese tele style. I can't imagine what the other reviewers of this model were thinking with the glowing reports they write. This is a toy. i wouldn't take it anywhere out of the house unless I needed a paddle for my canoe.

I've been playing for more than 30 years and have Gibson's, Fenders, Epiphones, SX, Washburns, Martins and a Harmony. They all have a distinct character and sound. There is nothing distinctive or distiguishing about this guitar. It is too light for my taste. If I was 10 (would that I coukld be) and wanted to learn some cowboy chords I would be happy to have this guitar. But don't be mislead by the other reviews for this guitar. Also, what the heck is guitar player thinking when they vote this best value?!

Features : 9
My only complaint as far as features go would be the tuning gear ratio...It is a little too touchy for my taste. It can be tough to get a dead on tune sometimes because the slightest twist yoinks it to sharp/flat, but with a little patience it tunes up and stays tuned. The pickups sound pretty nice...but hey if I could have afforded a vintage '58 tele I would have bought one of those right? Frets are set better than most I have seen out there. No gaps, the fret seats well into thee fretboard. The truss rod works well. I am 99% sure this is an alder body, there was a dime sized chip in the finish (due to shipping) and the grain that I saw was of a lighter color than what is normally associated with poplar...but both woods are nearly identical tonally anyhow.

Sound : 10
I wanted a Tele sound for some ambient/psychedelic stuff, and this guitar delivers 100%. I play through a Carvin SX-200 usually on the clean/effects channel with the delay setting set really low (as more of a doubling effect than a delay) with a chorus, flanger, envelope, and OD stomps. I get the sounds I want out of it easily. Slide work sounds really sweet on it as well. I ran some blues scales to stretch the strings out and that sounded nice too...Basically anything your MIM tele can do this thing can do too. I dislike noting about this JT/LT aside from the tuners I have already mentioned.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was set up nicely when I got it, I was surprised at the weight as some of the reviews I had read on here lead me to expect something very insubstantial, but this guy has a little girth...Not heavy at all by any means...but I was just expected something cheap i.e. feeling like a $130 guitar. Not the case. This JT/LT is a well put together Guitar. Not just for the money, PERIOD. The finish was nice and thick. Tho it was chipped when I got it who knows how hard it was hit/dropped during shipping to receive such damage. It seems durable enough, any guitar is gonna chip if its hit hard enough. I am gonna leave the chip and finish out of my rating since I don't know what caused it and I'll just grade the action and fit.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This thing can play a live show, but as a rule I would never play without a back-up, for the simple fact that I hate waiting on a guy in a band I am watching change a string and tune up when one breaks...it just make you look like an amateur. Like I said before, I had a chip and the finish does look thick enough to last as long as you don't pull a Kurt Cobain finally. It is at least as sturdy as any MIM.

Overall Rating : 10
I have played for around 12 years, I own a Yamaha FG-160 Barcus Berry Piezo equipped dreadnaught, an Alverez AJ60SC Jumbo acoustic/electric, an Epiphone Black Beauty and an early 90's Ibanez Talman with the dual humbuckers. I was hesitant about buying a cheap-o guitar, but the price is the only cheap thing about the JT/LT. I love the price to quality ratio. Good Tele sound for a 3rd of the price. I'll proudly whip this puppy out right next to my Ibanez or Epiphone. In fact I plan on getting a JT200 and the Rosewood tele, maybe even a DOT copy too..at these prices why not. Those 3 guitars will cost what I would pay for another Epi LP. I am very impressed with this brand.

Basic tele features with knobs and switch, bridge and neck pickups. Nice fret height. Love the red paisley finish! Stop tailpiece bridge instead of through the body (Feels like string bending is easier). Tuners are acceptable (non-locking).

Sound : No Opinion
Pickups were much more responsive than I had anticipated... ultimate tele twang in bridge mode, which is what I wanted to complement my collection. Maple fingerboard with a good feel. Light action. No string buzzing. Intonation set fairly accurately (will fine tune with strobe when possible). Supplied with a really cheap gig bag, but I knew this in advance. Made in Summer 2006. Solid body (wood), standard tele shape. I've never been crazy about having a tele for my main axe, but this definitely fits the tele sound I occasionally want to lay down.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Initial playing and inspection showed good fret height, nicely dressed with no buzzing throughout neck on all strings. Hot bridge pickup had sharp, cutting, twang, which is again what I wanted. Front had one very very shallow, unfeelable 2 inch surface "scratch", one very small dimple in the finish (not from impact) on guitar back. Pickguard is well cut, but bevel on edge is unsophisticated. Beautiful red paisley design, finish with green and gold undertones in some of the paisleys. No oxidation anywhere.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Don't know, but if feels light and solid, which I like. Guitar doesn't look cheap at all. Neck feels very nice. Brother's used one for about 4 months with zero problems.

Features : 5
Came with a heavy-duty padded gig bag that probably accounted for a third of the total price. I'll rate it as if it's a $100 guitar.

Anyway it's your basic black overseas-factory Tele knockoff, but with a top-loading, sidewall-less six-saddle bridge. Poplar body, maple neck, rosewood board. Cheap components all around, obviously, but everything works.

Sound : 5
I'll be damned if this cheap little Tele doesn't sound just like a cheap little Tele. I play mostly surf, garage and punk rock and usually use P-90-equipped guitars. I pull this one out when I feel the need for a little Tele twang, and it performs OK. Bridge pickup offers a good deal of bite, middle position takes the edge off. Neck pickup is really too weak to be used alone. At higher volumes, 60-cycle hum gets out of control. Overall nothing to write home about, but acceptable poor-man's Tele tones for the buck.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Fret edges are a little ragged, but the neck and board are otherwise quite comfy. Aside from that it's unremarkable but satisfactory for its price.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
It's not solid or toneful enough to play out with, but for around the house twang it's fine.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 5
It's essentially a toy, but there's something to be said for a $100 guitar that isn't totally useless. Players looking for half-decent Tele tones on the cheap will get a kick out of it.

this is the JTLT custom deluxe with bound body, single coil bridge pickup and humbucking neck pickup. gold plated hardware . this was ordered from studioguitars.com on ebay. I expected to receive bridge and truss rod wrenches as I have with other sellers, but did not from studioguitars.com.
docked a point for no wrenches. the cover on the humbucker was dented on arrival.
they did offer to fix this
on the plus side, this has real flame, not fotoflame.

Sound : 10
the guitar's sound was good. the output of the two pickups balanced nicely. You could use this guitar anywhere you'd use a tele. the neck humbucker also sounds good by itself. I play through a roland cube 60.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
String ferrules were drilled crookedly!! as in O O O O O O . also, the bushings on two of the tuners were oxidized, and the neck pickup cover had a small 1/4" dent. studioguitars.com did offer to replace the pickup cover, but I
feel (since this was supposed to be a new guitar) the guitar was, and should have been advertised as, a factory second. note:( I bought the same model from another seller and had none of these problems.) action and finish on this guitar were fine. I just don't think the seller looked at the guitar before shipping it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
haven't owned this one that long, but it seems solid enough. my other tursers have done well at live gigs. their finishes have not worn off and the tuners are still good. gold plating always seems to wear off after awhile regardless of a guitar's brand name. I always bring a backup guitar, but have never had to pull it out. tursers have been dependable guitars for me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
don't know. haven't had to call them.

I've been playing in nightclubs since 1975. variety of styles, rock, country, light jazz, top 40. if this guitar were stolen i'd replace it with the same model, but from a different retailer. the one i got from taz's guitars had none of the problems mentioned above, and also cost less, so the model itself is great!
studioguitars.com was just careless about inspecting before they ship.

This is a basic tele copy. I own a white, left handed model purchased new.

Sound : 7
I use this with a basic practice amp and RP-80 modeler.

The pickups do sound good although the bridge pickup can be noisy at times, forcing a blend between bridge and top pickup. The blended setting seems to be best rather than using just the neck or bridge pickup. The neck pickup along sounds a little bland.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Factory setup was horrible. The high E had a nasty 'twang' that I could not for the life of me tune out and with multiple string changes. The guitar was unusable in this condition and I had to return it to the factory. The fact that this guitar was totally unusable has destroyed my rating for this category.

It is physically pretty otherwise.

The tuners are weak and sensitive, taking a little longer to dial in while tuning than some other guitars I have owned. It is unrealistic to expect excellent tuners with a low budget guitar. But the guitar is good enough that I wouldn't mind buying better quality tuners for it down the road.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Now that it has been properly set up, the guitar is fine and I love it and practice/play often with this guitar.

I don't think I would perform in front of anyone without a backup no matter what guitar I was using as a primary and favorite.

Customer Support : 2
Jay Turser bent over backwards to help me and guaranteed me my guitar repaired or replaced and paid for shipping both ways. For this reason I would rate them a 10. However, they 'lost' my guitar twice and it took almost 4 months for me to get it back. The company is large and these things happen with big companies but this situation knocks their 10 rating down to a 2. As honest as I can be.

Overall Rating : 7
I have been playing for 2 years and have been through a half dozen guitars and own as many, both electric and acoustic combined.

Now that my telecaster is set up properly and it is here with me and being used almost daily, I do love it.

I would buy another Jay Turser but if it needed warranty work, I think I would be on the phone more often inquiring about my guitar and how things are progressing with it.

I bought the JT-LT left handed custom moodel. I don't know the year it was made nor the place it was made (but if I had to guess, I'd say that it was Japan).

It has 22 frets that are pretty flat and even and are very smooth to work play on.

The guitar comes stock with a volume and tone knob.

The pickups for the guitar are standard for a tele-style guitar. The lipstick neck pickup is plated gold along with the saddle cover and tone/volume control knobs and bolt plate on the neck (the tuners are also gold)

I know the neck is made of maple and I think that the body is made of some other light weight wood, it could be maple also but don't quote me.

It's finish is a light tabacco sunburst. It goes from a black edge to a brown to a tan to a natural finish.

Neck/Scale: I personally thought that the neck was made slightly smaller and thinner but that could be its make.

Body: Excellent look and feel

Overall: An excellent buy at any price. You will not be disappointed. It may feel like it will break in your hands if you play it too hard, but this guitar can take anything.

Sound : 8
The guitar sounds great.

It doesn't have the typical tele "twang" but it gets the job done.
I play country and texas blues and for the money this guitar is perfect for playing those styles.

I usually run my guitars through either a marshall AVT- 50 or a Pignose Practice amp, sometimes I'll even hook both of them up at the same time.

There's very very little outside noise while I play the tele even at high volume but you will get feedback if you stand too close to your amp will playing.

The guitar has a really bright tone and makes playing it distortion really awesome sounding.

(Depending on the effects you use) This guitar will play just about anything you want to play.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar is set up ver well for a stock model. However, I'm the type of person who gets a guitar and can't help but customize and tweak it further.

I want to lower the action and make it have a much tighter feel.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I haven't taken out to gig, yet. The guitar is built really well and I expect that it will perform well on stage.

Customer Support : 8
I bought this guitar off of EBAY. The person selling the guitar worked for Sinisterguitars.com which is supposed to be an internet guitar shop. They took my order and they quickly sent it to my house within 48 hours.

I bought it brand new and don't plan on having to do any major repairs. But if I have to, they guys at Sinisterguitars.com gave me a lifetime warranty.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 3 years but have only just recently dedicated my playing life to playing old fashioned country and blues.

The only thing I wished I asked the seller would be "Does that come with Texas Specials Pickups?"

I would certainly buy from this company again. They have a very reliable product and would reccomend it for anyone.

I love how the guitar came stock with gold hardware and a great finish.

I compared this guitar to a Fender Telecaster. I was dissapointed with the Fender Product which seemed heavier, had terrible action, and couldn't hold a tune. I wasn't able to try out this guitar before buying it but after playing it for the first time, I'm glad I DID NOT by the Fender.

Owned it a month +/-. Been playing about that long.
22 frets counting the nut (trying hard to impress all of you with my vast guitar knowledge.) ;-)
Bought it on Ebay from 6esses@aol.com, as a package: amp, stand, strap, picks, gig bag, cd-endorsed by Peter Frampton, which actually is a good learning tool if you pay the extra $39.99 to unlock all the features, cable, & tuner. No tuner in the box, Mark (6esses) made it good, great seller, A++++.

Looked great right out of the box, I just love the look of a Tele. Ivory colored with a white pickguard, rosewood fretboard, maple neck.

Light compared to my son's Epiphone LP II Special.

Stays in tune, unless the stand is moved to an outside wall, pretty cold here in Montana.

The frets had a few sharp edges along the neck, nothing big.

Sound : 10
Again I'm a month +/- into playing, but I love the sound, jazzlike at the neck pickup, twangy further back. Came with a Jay Turser 10w amp.

I've made noises that I thought I'd never make, joyfull ones and some not so good, but the callus's are here and I'm not quiting.

Likes: hitting the notes,
Dislikes: not hitting the right note.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Set up from the factory & Mark checks every one, was great.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Will this guitar withstand live playing? Me? I dunno?

Does the hardware seem like it will last? Looks pretty well built.

One complaint, the rear strap screw stripped out, had to replace with one a diameter size greater.

Is the finish good enough to last, or does it seem thin and easy to wear off with lots of playing? Again, no flaws ohter than the strap screw.

Would you use it on a gig without a backup? Me gig? That's a laugh.

Customer Support : 10
Lifetime Guarentee, Mark is a registered dealer & I'm sure that if any thing were to go wrong it would be handled without a hassle.

I've been playing 1 month +/-. My youngest son, he's 13, started 3 years ago and took a 2 year break. My oldest son 2 months +/-. We all share our five guitars, first one was a $60.00 "First Note", my youngest really was making music so I won on Ebay an auction for a Epiphone AJ-10 in black, beautiful & great sound, kind of large for a 10 year old. Then my oldest son became interested in the Epi and what do you know, Ebay, Epiphone LP II Special Package, now we have a competition going, dad, me wants to get in on the action, Ebay Jay Turser Tele, then my youngest pouts about not being "lectric" so can you say Ebay, Jay Turser Strat, no package.

If it were stolen or lost, would you buy it again or get something else? Most likely replace it, but maybe a Jay Turser Resonator?

Maple neck
Rosewood fingerboard
One Single Coil Bridge pick-up

Not big on features...it's a Tele for crying out loud!

Once again, Turser has blown me away. For way less than a hundred bucks, what I have here is a piece of musical excellence. Close your eyes and you're back in the 50's with a Vintage Tele on your shoulder.I play it through a Behringer Blue Devil and the tones this baby puts out would make the angels cry. Warm, full rhythm chords from the neck and cutting, bright leads from the bridge. Mix 'em together and you get what I can only describe as tone-a-liciousness. It's amazingly quiet, given the single coil nature and the controls work well. There's absolutely nothing to dislike here.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action was too scary for me, as I am afraid of heights. A few bouts with the truss rod wrench and the saddles and we now have perfection. Low, fast and smooth...like butter. The pickups were fine out of the box, once the strings got lowered, that is. The finish is beautiful, but there is a dimple on the back, small one, but it's there. The 3-way selector switch needed a little help to stay put. I shimmed it with a piece of foam wrap and it stays on nicely now. Other than these minor items (and NO guitar ever comes setup properly fromt he factory) there's not a single thing wrong with it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This thing will withstand anything you can throw at it. I am considering using it as a surfboard in the afternoon and gigging with it at night. Seriously, though, it's built to last. The strap buttons could be used to hang meat, they are so solid. I would use it to gig all night long, but please, always take a backup.

Customer Support : 9
Lifetime warranty. I've dealt with the company twice previously and they are very nice and helpful. Maybe a little slow at first, but, hey, it was probably a Monday.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing 6 strings for about 6 months, bass for years. I own a ton of gear, 2 other Tursers, a JT-134DC Jazz Box, a JTA-40 CEQ Acoustic/Electric, a Custom Fender Strat, an Ibanez SR640 Bass, a Fender Fretless Jazz Bass and a real POS Johnson JG-42 Acoustic. For amps I use a Behringer Blue Devil for guitar and a Behringer Ultrabass 1200 for bass. I would buy this guitar again in a second if some miscreant ever ripped me off. I love its light weight, tremendous tone and fast, easy neck. I couldn't pass up the deal, knowing how much I liked the other Tursers, but, frankly, this one blows them both away. I defy anyone to play it in a blind test and not choose it over any Fender Tele you could put up against it. It's more comfortable and sounds better. You can't miss! Plus, you save about $700 over an American or $300 over a Mex. Maybe I like it better than the other Tursers I have because it was so cheap. If you need the Tele sound for your band, or your head, and you pass this one up, you need professional help.

Thought I'd add my 2 cents on this guitar. Made in China Telecaster knock-off, see preceeding reviews for specs. This guitar is LIGHT, a little disconcerting if you're used to playing a maple or ash body. But this is a solid body guitar, probably poplar, not a laminated body like with the Fender Squire Teles. Came with a cheapo cord, truss rod wrench and bridge wrench. Features are identical to a base model Fender Telecaster. Includes a truss rod.

Sound is true to Telecaster, twangy and crisp on the bridge pickup and more mellow on the neck pickup. No undue noise noted. The pickups shipped a little low.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action was remarkably good out of the box with slight buzzing at a couple of frets. Shipped with lighter strings than I normally play (probably 9s) so when I move up a gauge it should pull the buzzing out. For the money, I was expecting some goobers in the finish but I can't find a flaw. The pots seem okay, knobs are a little on the cheap side but okay. Tuners are Gotoh style and appear to be fine.
Pickups set a little low, easily adjusted. Rosewood fretboard is tightly grained and flawless. Frets are level and smooth, no problems. The quality of everything far surpassed my expectations for a hundred dollar guitar. Beats the crap out of a Squire Tele.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This axe would probably not stand up to the rigors of the road. I bought it as a backup stage guitar to get me thru a set if I bust a string. I'll do some recording with it when I need that Tele twang. The feel of the guitar is so light that it takes a little getting used to. I would not gig without a backup. Finish is surprisingly thick and uniform. Strap button actually seem okay but I always install locking buttons. As much as you feel like you should be able to point to something cheezy on this guitar, it really does stand up to close scrutiny. It's a hell of a good value.

Not dealt with the manufacturer. Limetime warranty. MusicLandCentral was a great company to deal with, great packing and good communication. They sell on Ebay and via their Website.

Playing over 30 years. Main instruments now include a Guild F47CE, Godin Solidac, and Yamaha S08 synth. Playing guitars thru a Behringer KX-1200 amp. Playing in a Country cover band right now, hence the Telecaster. This guitar is a great deal for the price. I think it's comparable in quality to the Mexican-made Fenders which I believe also have poplar bodies. Those retail for @$350. You can pick up a Turser Tele or Strat copy on Ebay for under a hundred bucks and you simply cannot go wrong. I am very pleased with this purchase. It's a perfect backup or beginner's Tele-style electric. Unbelievable value! I'm thinking about picking up one of their Strat knock-offs too.

Tele-style, never really played a real Telecaster before, but I have a JB Player Strat copy, which is the closest comparison I can make. I don't own this guitar; however, I am borrowing my friend's (he got it off of Home Shopping Network).

Sound : 6
Sound is alright; the pickups are pretty low on the sonic chain. Doesn't sound jazzy like a tele should (so I'm told). Sounds pretty close to my strat copy. I played it through a Traynor YCV40 amp alongside my own JB player.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
This is where things get pretty damn ugly. Firstly, the intonation is horrible because the tuners are set to some really bad ratio. I tried using harmonics to tune this, and could never get it right. Eventually I figured out that the frets didn't align correctly (the 12th-fret octave is way sharp compared to the harmonic octave). I tried using the bridge to make some adjustments, but didn't seem to work. Horrible fret buzz on the 6th string. Mind you, it's not my guitar, and my friend got it off of TV with some sort of deal, so I don't think he's going to get it to the shop anytime soon. Action could be lower, but it seems pretty well off to me. Cosmetically, it seems fine. Oh yeah, and the strap buttons seem to be in the wrong place with respect to the guitar because using this guitar with a strap causes it to fall forwards (neck first).

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Can't comment, as I don't own this, and don't plan to.

I don't know if it's a quality control issue, but this guitar seems like a dud. I was quite surprised to see such good reviews on it here at harmony central. If you're a guitarists looking for your first electric, this would be a disappointment and would only frustrate and stifle your musical creativity. I'm only giving it a 4 because overlooking the poor build quality, the pickups do their job. Try guitars out at your local music store, and don't buy from the HSN.

Pretty standard, all you've heard before.
I have to give it high marks because I knew What features it had when I bought it. And low and behold it had them.

Sound : 9
Found out I had no musical style, but I try anyhow.
Use it wth a vox Cambridge 30(nice little amp)
Surpisingly not noisy at all. Sounds like a tele, I thought maybe I'd switch out the bridge pup but the more I toy with it the more I like it. Just a novice here, but it doesn't sound muddy anywhere, Ranks up there with my 2002 mim Fender strat

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Came set up great, Tuned up no problem.
Awsome color, Vintage (banana yellow) cream. Finish is great Except at the neck joint There looks like some smaller than 1mm chips there. Not too noticable, Also the selector switch seems alittle flimsy, but no problems, tuners are good to go.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Don't know about live playing, don't do it. Like I said selector switch, but still works fine. Finish is and looks great. Strap buttons good to go again. This thing is really light. but feels sturdy.

I bought this brand new off Ebay. The company is based in NY but I don't know where the guitars are actually made.
21 Frets
classic style;
single cutaway,
lightweight solid body;
maple fingerboard;
die-cast machines;
gold hardware;
pearloid pickguard;
2 pick-ups;
volume and tone controls
It's a really cool Tobacco Sunburst finish. Jumbo frets.
It came with a free cable.

Sound : 9
The guitar came set up perfectly for how I play, which is a flat neck with low action. It was even perfectly in tune when I took it out of the box.
I played it thru a Fender Princton and a Marshall Valvestate. Both sounded really good. There was no noise from the pickups.
The neck pickup sounded good, a bit muddy but for a guitar in this price range (I paid $140) I can't complain. The bridge pickup is as twangy as can be. It's just a standard Tele, nothing hot-rodded here. I expect to be putting in a set of Texas Specials soon anyway...but the pickups it came with are certainly not bad at all.
The 3-way switch is clean and smooth. The Vol and Tone controls work fine, but they feel cheap...almost like a toy. I suspect I'll be replacing the pots too..but again...it's just my choice..the controls actually work fine.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar came set up so well, there's nothing I need to do here. Unlike with my Fender Strat or Les Paul..I had to spend some time making adjustments to my taste.
Pickups seem to properly set up too. But as I said, they're being replaced with Texas Specials which will only make an already good guitar great.
As far as flaws, anything I noticed was very minor. Nothing to complain about. Remember this is a guitar I paid $140 for. I had only read other reviews and saw pictures before I decided to take a chance on getting one. I have to say I'm impressed at the quality and the care that went into setting it up.
The neck alone is exactly what I like, maple with jumbo frets that plays well all the way down. It's fine looking too in tobacco sunburst with gold hardware. I expect the gold plating to wear off in a few years but I could really care less about that.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I don't play live so I don't know how much abuse this guitar can take. If you can snag one for what I paid, it's worth it to find out becuase it looks sturdy and well built. I expect to own this for a very very long time.
Aesthetically it looks and feels great. Compared to a Mexican Tele which was stolen from me a few years ago, this Tele came better set up, with a better contoured neck. Although the Fender sounded a notch better, I remember it having a chunk of wood dug out by accident which the control plate was barely covering up, and had sawdust in the cavity, which bummed me out.
So compared to the Fender, I'd take the Turser.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It comes with Turser's limited lifetime warranty. I do a lot of my own repairs and don't see that this guitar will need anything. So I don't expect to be using Customer Support.

Ive been playing over 15 yrs. I currently own Fenders and and Epi Les Paul.
I'm more of a weekend player so I'm against putting up a ton of cash for a guitar I'll only play on the weekends. There's lots of quality low-cost guitars on the market. This is definitely one of them. If I lost it..I'd definitely get another one immediately.

Tele sytle. Light weight body. Old yellow. Medium to fat neck. Feels good all around.

Neck pick up has good sound, but kinda weak. Bridge pickup has great tone, sound like what a guitar should sound like, not like a machine.
Great for blues, country, and good rock.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
It came set up a little higer than my other guitars, but play so easily I didn't change it. Frets are nice and the neck fits me. Could have use a little smoothing out at body edges at neck joint, hey at a $150..00 you can't beat this. Not even Fender.

I,ve had a couple of peaveys, solid guitars. Had a G&L strat, nice but there are so many cheaper guitars that are just as good. I play several fender teles, squires on up and was disappointed.

You've seen the other reviews by now I'm sure. It's a tele copy. Two sigle coils ,volume and tone knobs, three way selector switch.Gold/brass hardware.Tabbacco sunburst finish

Sound : 10
The pick ups are so quiet, but you still get those little nuances that make the single coil guitars fun to play...
I play blues, classic rock.I'm a novice, but to my ears, which know good sound, just cant afford it yet, this guitar is AWESOME for the money.I had an Ibanez with humbuckers.I traded it in for a case(among other things)to protect this one.
I'm playing through a digitech RP-100(a fun item for a novice)and my amp is a Fender Frontman 25R.I'm planning on getting the Blues Jr soon.In the many settings and others I've made myself it sounds great, with blues and rock. And through just the amp alone it's great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar required nothing....My only issue was one of the tiny allen screws on the bridge/saddle turns out by itself. But I have since fixed it.
I am amazed at the quality.I was shopping for Teles,Fenders and other wise in the 300-400 dollar range. The many mexican\Japanese fenders I tried had frets that would slice your fingers off. Whats happening with their QC ?? All of the JT strats and Teles I tried were smooth and flawless in every way.Not as much can be said for the others. For the money especially this was the obvious choice for me.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I'm just a living room /open mike player. But I know guys that have PSR's and other high end guitars that play this out and fool every body.
My only concern is the lightness of the body.Poplar I think it is..I wish they could use something alittle more solid. The price increase would be worth it.

This guitar has made me play better.I havent been able to put it down.Plugged or not.....
Someday I'll treat myself to something high end.But for now I'm more than satified and confident I will be with further purchases.I plan on buying other Jay Turser guitars soon. For the quality and sound it cant be beat.

Made somewhere deep in the heart of communist China under the watchfull eye of the local commissar. Inspected by Mr. Yoo. They make so many of them it don't even get a serial number. Typical Tele setup S/S, tone, volume and three way. The neck looks like maple, nice rosewood fret board and I think the body is poplar. The only thing they could've used to make it lighter is balsawood. The tuners are pretty decent sealed tuners and mine is not a string through body like one reviewer's. Maybe the body drilling guy was off the day mine was made so they slapped some string through bridges on them. Individual string saddles. I'll give it a 9 for a non string through body.

Sound : 8
The pickups are pretty quiet for single coils, a little humming in the bridge pickup and hardly any humming at all in the lipstick. Hey, it sounds like a tele. Tele's are unforgiving. You make a mistake while playing and there it is for everyone to hear. Let me tell you something though. This thing is the real deal. Tune to an open G and bang out Honkey Tonk Women and you are there. This thing sounds as good as a Mexi-Tele and plays better and sounds better than a Jap Stat that I had. That thing drove me crazy. I almost used it for kindling. The pickups are not that hot either. I think the thing would really come to life with some texas specials because the basic tone of the guitar is quite good.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It was set up ok. One of the saddle screws on the high E was all the way up. They give you two allen wrenches with the guitar so it wasn't nothing to get it back in adjustment. The pre set action was a little high but that is perfect for my taste. I like my action a little on the high side. Intonation was on and the pickups were adjusted good. The neck looks good. The finish looks really good. Classic tele cream. There were a few flaws in the finish. One little chip next to the pickguard and a small (about 1/8 inch) area on the side of the guitar where the the wood was a little dented and the finish applied over top. I'm really looking hard here for those folks where this stuff matters. There was some excess glue around the neck joint. The satin finish on the neck is really nice and the Jay Turser logo on the neck looks really nice. I'll give it an 8 here for the bridge saddle and the couple of little nicks.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Will it withstand live playing. I like this question. Well, not if you're Pete Townsend. The first time you whack it against the floor I'm pretty sure the body would immediately seperate from the neck joint. I don't care if you have a PRS Dragon, you always have a backup guitar with you on stage. Time will tell with this guitar but I don't see any problems with it's durability. It looks as well made as a Mexi Tele or a Squire.

Customer Support : 9
I tried to call Mr. Yoo in China and ask him about the string through body deal on my guitar but they told me Mr. Yoo no longer works at Jay Turser. He got an American visa and is now working in Nashville for Gibson USA. The thing comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Fill out the card and see what happens if it breaks. It can't be no worse than Fender or Gibson. I'll give it a 9 for a limited lifetime warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
Here's the deal. An easy 10. Are you kidding? 99 bucks for this guitar is the steal of the century. I have an SG that's a really nice guitar but I paid 500 bucks for her 15 years ago. I've been playing for 30 years and needed a tele. I previously owned a 1960 tele and let me tell you something, this thing ain't that far off as far as sound. You name 'em I've had 'em. Les Pauls, Strats, Melody Makers...etc. Can you imagine what that 60 tele would go for on ebay? I even had a '59 Les Paul Special that I traded for some contraband, but hey, what can I say, It was the '80's man. I play through a Peavey Duel 212 all tube classic and this thing sounds sweet. I play through the clean channel with a Boss BD-5 Blues driver and it ain't nothing but the truth. Maybe it's because I paid 99 bucks that it sounds so good. If I had paid 1500 I'd probably be bitching up a storm but I can blow 99 bucks on beer and chicken wings in one night. It's light and I need light cause I'm old. You young guys can lug around those Les Pauls, I've lugged enough of them in my day. I haven't been able to put this thing down since I got it a week ago. Even my wife said, "honey that sounds nice!" What more can a man ask for?

A Jay Turser JT-LT standard Telecaster copy. Made in China. Poplar body, 22 polished medium frets, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, very nice cream finish, sealed Grover or Gotoh type standard tuners, saddles individually adjustable and bridge assembly chromed. No accessories except adjustment wrenches for truss rod and saddles, 1 cord. No case or gig-bag. String-thru body; a faithful copy of a Tele. 2 pickups; neck covered, 3-way switch, knurled chromed knobs. Rated '9' for the minor blemish on neck finish (top edge same place as I saw on a JT 300 Strat copy), but a very minor defect. Body at neck pocket joint could have been a bit neater, but not noticeable.

Sound : 9
Standard (2) Telecaster pickups with 3-way switch and volume+tone knobs. The neck pickup is adequate and at least average compared to a Mexican Tele or American standard. A poplar body is not alder or ash, so deal with it. But it is light an comfortable to play. Think of it as 'Tele Lite'. The bridge pickup has 'twang and cut', but is no match for a good after-market pickup (Rio Grande, Harmonic Design, etc.). For import pickups, they are well made and sound pretty good without much hum (neck is quieter). Again, a '9', but I'll qualify that: for a guitar at this price, they are VERY good.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Setup from factory is pretty nice; a little high, but intonated OK and the guitar plays pretty well. Pickups are adjusted OK; neck is a little 'leaning' at an a angle, but that can be corrected. Frets are well done and no rough spots, fretboard is quite good (rosewood) and the neck is satin finished. the body is especially well-shot witrh cream-colored laquer for an attractive vintage look. The neck/body fit is pretty good and the neck plate is real polished chrome metal as is the bridge. Still, a '9' compared to an excellent guitar like a Robin. But better finished than a Mexican Nashville Power Tele (I had one with sawdust up the jack plug bore). For the price, the Turser is an 11 !

Reliability/Durability : 9
good hardware and entirely adequate tuners. Chromed hardware is really polished chrome, not coating. The body finish is really nice and looks reasonably tough. Strap buttons have felt 'washers' installed (Fender, listening?). This is a pretty well built guitar: a a straight neck, good board, frets, tuners. I am spoiled by Robin Rangers and Medleys ($1800+ list), but for the price of a Turser Tele copy, you cannot lose. this is NOT a junk guitar. I rate it a '9' because it is brand new and untested in playing. Initially it looks quite good.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Limited lifetime; at the price, you cannot lose.
Look: a $100 guitar's a throwaway to experiment with and try pickups in or give as a gift! Add up the parts cost and it's over $100 bucks (tuners-35,pickups-50 for 2, bridge and saddles-40...). It's crazy and a super buy.

Overall Rating : 10
Easy '10' here. Wow! This without doubt the best value in a new guitar available that I ever saw. I bought it without having seen one based on Harmony Central reviews on a whim and it is a great buy at $100 NEW. I once had a $600 Mexican Fender'Power Tele' that had rusted frets and sawdust in it. Jay Turser guitars are not top grade guitars. But they are exceptional inexpensive guitars and perfect for any beginning or intermediate player. With really good pickups (pick one: Harmonic Design, Rio Grande, Fralin, Kinman) this could sound really fine. And at <$300 invested, it would make most top line Fender Teles eat dirt sonically.
How in the hell can anyone deliver a guitar like this to market for $100 ? It is well made, chromed bridge hardware, pretty fair pickups, good tuners, and a nice neck and almost set up properly. Plus is looks good: the body finish is very nice. and it sounds good!
Thank god for slave labor in China...

This is an update to my previous review

Sound : 10
I play original Christian Blues/Rock that ranges from electric balads, to classic electric blues, to High Energy rock. Quite surprisingly, this guitar can handle about 90% of our music. It has that classic tele twang but sounds very good distorted too. This guitar just begs to have blues played on it. Getting artificial harmonics is no prob. The pickups are amazingly quiet for single coils. This guitar sounds almost exactly like a 1951 Fender No Caster Relic ($2200 at a local music shop). I play through a Peavey Studio Pro 112 and use no effects at this time.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar came setup from the factory with very low action and no string buzzing. The I checked the intonation with my Korg tuner and it was fine. I like my action a good bit higher so I set it up to suit me. The Black paint job on it is good. The neck to body fit is great. The controls do what they are supposed to do. It has good tuners on it and stays intune very well. The Frets are nice and the back of the neck is satin finished. The guitar plays very well.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar seems to be built like a tank and yes it withstands live playing. All the hardware is solid. Good Stuff!!! Yes it is dependable and I would (and have) used it without a backup.

This one lists for $200.00 and plays and sounds as good or better than a Fender 1951 No Caster Relic that lists at $3099.00. Go figure... In the past, I have owned a Gibson SG, a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Deluxe that I special ordered in 1976. A Gibson Flying Vee, An Ibanez Destroyer 2, and a Pre CBS Fender Strat. I had played for a good 12 years before I quit playing and know a little about guitars. I currently play the JT-LT, a Fender Toronado, and an old Ibanez EX 170. I had always wanted a Tele and believe me, I tried many Teles before deciding to take a chance on a bid for this one. I tried just about every model of Squire and Fender Tele out there. I tried three very different Jay Turser models (SG copy, 335 copy, 175 copy) in the local stores and they played and sounded great. I decided to take a chance on the JT-LT Tele copy based on the quality of the JTs I had played in the stores and I am glad I did. This is one Great Guitar for the money. If it were lost or stolen I would definately buy another one. As a matter of fact I am trying to figure out which Jay Turser guitar to buy next.
