2002, 3 lipstick tube PU,s, volume and tone controls, dano type body and construction only way better, solid as a rock

Sound : 10
this guitar out Rics a Ric, flawless jingle jangle sound, playing through a Fender Princeton, I found you have to lower the treble and midrange on the amp to tame the beast, otherwise a bit too trebly for my taste

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
perfect, I tried a Ric and simply could not play it due to the narrow neck, this guitar is way better for me

Reliability/Durability : 8
everything is OK except for an occasional problem with the sound cutting out, have not been able to figure out exactly what is happening but cleaning out the pots and controls solves the problem, otherwise solid and durable

Customer Support : 10
I have emailed Jerry Jones on 2 occassions with questions and Jerry himself responded within 24 hours; i don't know about the warranty but jerry will back his instruments

Overall Rating : 9
been playing for 37 years, all acoustic until 2 years ago when a couple of us 50 something guys decided to rock to tunes we liked when we were young...so i bought my first electric guitar, then another, and another, and another; i also have a dano 12 string repo which i never use now that i have the jj; dano is nice but the jj blows it away in construction, fit and finish and sound quality; i would have rated it a 10 except for the control issue, probably dust in one of the pots so i'll give it a 9.9

1998 Jerry Jones 12 string electric; handmade in Nashville USA. 2 lipstick pickups/ 3 way selector. Neptune bridge. Single cutaway hollow body w/ masonite top. Rosewood fingerboard I've got the cream/turquoise burst which for some reason reminds of a popsicle. It has a wide neck and flat (15") fingerboard which helps facilitate fingerpicking and string bending. I can wail on this thing and it sounds like I'm playing through an Octavia ;-)

Sound : No Opinion
While not as sweet as a Rickenbacker due to it's entirely different construction and electronics, it retains a classic folk rock sound. Acoustically the sound is a bit uneven, but plugged in it can be shaped in a lot of ways using the tone controls on the amp and guitar. I sometimes use a capo to get mandolin-like sounds. I especially like to turn up the reverb and nail those Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds' tones.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
It's obvious that this is a handmade guitar when you play it. The fretboard edges are slightly bevelled to give a 'worn in' feel. Frets are smoothly polished. Finish is smooth and even. Flawless all around.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Tuners, switches and pots are all solid as a rock. Finish looks bulletproof, which is fine for these guitars. You don't buy a masonite guitar and worry about the finish sucking tone ;-) I don't like the pickguard; it's like a sheet of vinyl held down with 2 screws, but that's the authentic vintage thing, so whatcha gonna do? I'd rather leave it authentic.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with the company directly. It's a small operation, so I'm sure any reasonable concern would be addressed quickly and easily.

For me, the worst part of a 12 string is tuning the thing. It can be somewhat tedious. Fortunately this one holds it tuning very well.
I've been playing 22 years and I love Jerry Jone's guitars. I also own a baritone and hope to buy a few more of his guitars. If you dig 'retro' or 'roots rock' sounds and demand top notch playability, these guitars offer great 'bang for the buck'.
