Just bought it today - saw it, tried it, came back and tried it again and decided that it was the right guitar for me. Made in Nashville - there's no doubt about it, American guitars are the finest in the world...
21 frets, rose wood finger board, Danelectro style. JJ takes all the best features of the Dano (including those looks) and quite simply makes them into a better guitar.
Two lipstick tubes with "hum cancelling wiring", to their own design, are clear and bright, rich in harmonics. Volume and tone pots and a three-way selctor giving bridge, both and neck. The middle position seems to have more punch than the other positions.
12 strings which probably should be replaced soon, but I put that down to shipping and storage. Gotoh tuners that seem precise.
The neck is a fairly shallow U and the narrowest I've ever seen on a 12 str.
Body is nicely turned on the edges with an almost Hammeright copper finish. Bound with an off-white textured tape.

I play country-blues-folk-post psychedelic-sort-of-stuff and this complements my other guitar (a JD Tele) perfectly. I play more or less entirely for my own amusement (with a bit of home recording thorwn in) so I make no claims to knowing anything about guitar playing but I know what I like and I like this guitar.
I play thro' a Korg Toneworks fx pedal and and a Boss BR which occasionally doubles as a recorder. I have an amp but my son borrowed it so long ago that I can't remember make or model.
As above, the "hum cancelling wiring" on the pickups seems to work a treat. If strings aren't vibrating then it's silent. Very bright on the bridge, smoother on the neck and the best of both of them in between.
The pick up selector has a very positive feel to it which some might find intrusive.
Possibly a bit limited in its sound but I've had it less than 24 hours so it's early days yet.

Action's brilliant, sweet and low. As easy to play as my Tele.
I've not found any flaws in it (apart from slightly rusted strings) and I suspect I wont.
Reliability/Durability
:
No Opinion
Seems to be very solid all through, carefully made with good attention to detail. It feels trustworthy, durable and dependable.

Obviously not dealt with JJ but I get the impression that they'd come back promptly and positively in response to any problem/query. Hope I never have to find out...

Been playing, off and on, for too many years; seriously for the last five. I've already got a Tele and I part exchanged a Yamaha 12 str. electro acoustic for this with no regrets. Big and bright and very playable. Lost or stolen? Another one, straight away. I've been looking for a guitar like this for some time.
Jingle jangle.

mine's cancun turquoise. with that color and jerry's new body shapes, i call mine gumby. 5 way switch with 3 of jerry's own lipstick pu's. these sound great and the 5 way switch gives a myriad of 12 string tones. you get each single coil in the 1, 3, & 5 positions, but then you get the bridge and middle pu's in series in position 2 and neck and bridge pu's in series in position 4. the series positions give a nice volume boost that great for soloing or when you need a more up front sound. also has a master volume and tone knob. body is semi-hollow with masonite top and back. nice stucco-like white trim. no stupid masking tape like on my dano 56-u2. this is a single cutaway.

i play my own original rock music and this 12 string sounds wonderful. i play with a classical pianist and this thing blends perfectly with him. it can go from very jangly and bright to as dark as you would ever want. i never thought i would need more than 1 or 2 settings on a 12 string, but there are so many different 12 string colors/flavors from the 3 pu's it's great. i find myself using all positions at some point or during a particular song. i've played a dano 12 string, dano hodad 12, ricky 360v64-12, and ricky 330-12. this one is the best. it can sound like any of the above and more. the price is nice too, being right about in the middle.

action and finish were perfect right out of the box. the worksmanship is flawless. i will knock this down 1 point though for the nut. on both of my jerry jones', the nut is cut to be barely big enough for the strings. if i wanted to go to a bigger gauge, then it would have to be widened. also b/c it is cut so tight, the strings sometimes snag in the nut and go out of tune. i will have to take both to my ocal guitar tech and have him widen the slots. not a big deal, but it would be nice to have wider sots from the get go. the neck is absolutely beautiful and flawless. the rosewood is amazing.

this guitar is very durable and reliable. it hardly ever goes out of tune and i think that once i get the nut widened, it never will. strap buttons are metal and solid as a rock. i got one of the new d'addario locking straps and it fits like a glove. no worries there. the strap buttons on my dano 56-u2 on the other hand are crap and are always coming out. i would depend on my jerry jones without a doubt.

this is what i love about small, boutique companies. jerry hand makes all of his guitars and when you call, you talk to him. very friendly and down-home. answers all questions. great attitude. he even sent me a replacement decal for my double cutaway short horn that had fallen off over the years.
