This guitar was manufactured in 2003, bought as new from the maker in 2005. It is a smallish (OM) 12 string, all solid wood construction (spruce top, rosewood back & sides), with no electronics. It is a fairly simple guitar (which I like) with a discreet abalone line in the binding and around the soaundhole as the only real decoration. Gotoh tuners, came with hardshell case.

Puts out a big sound from a small box - real well balanced, reminds me a lot of the old OM style Guild 12 strings of the '60s (which I consider kind of the gold standard for 12 strings. I fingerpick it mostly, flatpick some bluegrass accompaniment, either way it shines.

Came with new strings, set up perfectly, & hasn't needed any work in the year I've had it. The finish is good, not sure what kind of laquer, decently applied. The only defect, and this is totally nitpicky, is a slight irregularity in the way the neck heel is formed or carved.

This guitar looks like a real solid instrument, built for years of playing. It holds it tune real well (a big plus for a 12 string). No issues yet, & I don't expect any!

Dave Amirault, the maker, was very responsive & responsible in the sales process. I feel sure he would stand behind the guitar if anything needed to be done.

Been playing 40-plus years, acoustic music of all kinds. I have a couple of good six strings, and I've had less-than-great 12 strings (Gibsons) in the past. This guitar is a great size, my wife loves playing it, and the sound fills the room without dominating. I'd definitely buy another John David Scott guitar if this one got lost. 'Nuff said. Patronize those small luthiers, folks!
