Dreadnought, blue, Laminated top, made in China.

Sound : No Opinion
The sound is really deep.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
The guitar is very beautiful, but once you play it, its a different story.

Reliability/Durability : 3
I've had my Dreadnought for about 4-5 years....it lasted this long for one reason only. It was a wall decoration. The first time I tryed to play it the strings broke.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Personally, I wouldn't waste my money on trying to get it fixed. I just threw mine in my closet.

Overall Rating : 1
I would not GIVE this guitar to anybody....well maybe if they got cold, but thats its! It was a birthday present to me when I was like 6.

If you're a beginner player, or just a person on a real tight budget looking for a guitar to play, this isn't the guitar. Save your money a little longer and buy something else.

Sound : 1
Imagine what rubber bands might sound like strung across an empty Country Crock margarine container would sound like.. got that sound in your head? Good. That sounds better than this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
With it's blue finish, the guitar looks great from about 6+ feet away.. and looks like a real gem in pictures off the web, but once you get it in your hands, that's when the illusion is shattered. The fret dressing is so poor, running your hand up and down the neck is like running your hand across a saw blade. Below student grade tuners, 'simulated' ebony fingerboard.. this guitar makes a far better decoration than it does an actual musical instrument.

Reliability/Durability : 1
Only time you'd catch me using this at a gig is if there were a part of the show where I just smashed the crap out of a guitar ala Pete Townsend.

I've been playing guitar for many years, and bought one of these guitars off eBay for $49 plus shipping with the idea, "How bad could it be?" and figured it would be an inexpensive knock around guitar.. you know, something to play that you wouldn't cry if it got scratched/dinged/stepped on, etc. What I got was the biggest piece of crap i've ever had the displeasure of playing.

When I saw the sky high action and jagged frets, I thought.. well.. maybe it'll be good for playing slide! Well, it might.. if it didn't have tone like a wet cardboard box, and if the frets were accurately spaced. But it does.. and they're not.

This isn't good for beginners.. this would be like some kind of mid-evil torture device for a beginning player. With it's jagged frets, out of whack fret placement, and trapeeze height action, the only thing this guitar is good for is a wall decoration.. or firewood.

$70 - Best buy for a beginner

Sound : 8
It has a rich full sound and loud, I give it an 8 because of the price mostly. I've had mine for five years now, banged it up pretty good in that time so its started to rattle when out of tune but really there is no room to complain.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
For a beginner this is decent enough action to figure out how to bend notes and not butcher them. Its a tight guitar, still this is only a beginner/beater, so keep that in mind if you are a more experienced player

Reliability/Durability : 8
I have hit this thing so many times getting it out of a car or on walls, etc....one of the toughest beaters i've seen. Light solid wood!

Customer Support : No Opinion
not sure who this Johnson character is

Overall Rating : 8
I give this rating based on a beginner guitar for the money and sound...in my experience it is hard to beat this guitar in those departments.

This is a standard dreadnaught type acoustic guitar. It has a spruce-like laminated top, but I am not suer of the actual wood. It has darker coloured woods on the sides and back, like perhaps nato or something like mahogony. The neck is the same type of wood as the body. The fretboard is an ebony type wood, but it appears to be painted black, not sure though. The fretboard is not that great looking, but the rest is pretty nice except very basic.

Sound : 7
This guitar has a decent sound and pretty good volume. It is more of a warm tone like a Martin, but not quite to that level. Not bad however. For the price it is great, however.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
The action when I got it from a friend was horrible, but that was fixed to a large extent by adjusting the neck. It actually plays pretty good now. It could be a little better, but it plays just as good as many, many higher priced instruments. It stays in tune remarkably wellw for this price range. The fret work is very good, no real problems there. The nut and the saddle are high, but they are ok. The finish is great, but upon close inspection it is not perfect, but very good nonetheless. Most of the finish problems are with the binding area, and are really not noticable. The pickgaurd is rather cheap and mine is kinda starting to come unglued. One huge problem: I put on 13 gauge strings, instead of the 12's that it presumably (got it from a friend) came with and the bridge got a crack in it down the middle from the pressure of the strings. Still playable after that, but I don't know how long it will last. Looks like it should still last a while though, because this happened like over six months ago and I have changed strings many times since with no problems.

Reliability/Durability : 7
The guitar will probably last a while, except for the problem with the bridge. In fact without that happening I think this guitar would last years. It is very dependable and tough and I would gig without a backup, if for some reason I would gig with this guitar.

I have been playing for a year and a half and I have gotten pretty into it. I have a Gibson electric and only have this acoustic, but have played many others. I plan on getting another acoustic if this one fails or if I ever play in front of a crowd. Right now this guitar is good enough to practice and learn on and I can take it places and not worry AT ALL. It is a good guitar, especially for the price and if you are looking into getting an acoustic and you can get this for a really low price like $50-80 then go for it, otherwise there are better guitars in the $80-100 price range you might want to go for. This is a great guitar for a kid by the way, or for someone that isn't sure that they are going to like playing or not. If it were stolen I probably wouldn't buy another one, only because I would go a little higher priced for a practice guitar, because I am looking a little better playability for my style now. This guitar is plenty playable and easy for a beginner, however. I give it a 7.

China made $99 special from Musician's friend that comes with a mandolin. Typical dreadnought design. Sealed tuners were a tad loose when I got it. Tightened them and have had no probs.Plastic nut and bridge which sound pretty good. Was gonna replace w/bone right away but now I'll wait. Had polishing compound all over it when I got it. When cleaned off it is a very solid, pretty guitar. Comes with quality Martin strings and my action wasn't bad. Have played $500. acoustics which hurt my fingers, this one doesn't. My neck was totally straight. Guitar chord easy the whole neck. Frets are reasonably tall but kind of cheap or not polished. Bends aren't as easy as I'd like. But hey, this was $99. smackers and I sold the mandolin for 50. It'll be good refret practice and bone nut and saddle making practice. Been playing for 10 years or so. Am pleasantly suprised at the VERY good volume and tone from this cheapie as I bought it out of curiosity. Will keep it for a beater to take anywhere and not worry. If it gets smashed would probably buy another, honestly!

Sound : 9
Does have a large ,rich full sound. Totally suprising out of a cheapie! Guitar is suprisingly LOUD! I rated a 9 cause of the sound FOR THE PRICE!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Mine was decent out of the box. Tightened the tuners lubed the nut, checked the saddle for waggle. I work on guitars though. Looks pretty nice too, nothing special though. Remember, this is a 50 dollar guitar!!!

Reliability/Durability : 7
Seem built well. Very solid. I would depend on it. Don't have to worry about it cause its so cheap, but sounds ridiculously good.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No clue, wouldn't even tempt it.

Overall Rating : 9
If you want a cheapie beater that sounds really good and will make owners of expensive guitars really suprised then you can't go wrong. its no Martin though. Very good value for the money!

Pretty standard acoustic dreadnought, no electronics or anything. Came with 12's and ... well... nothin' else. Unknown wood, but it is pretty light.

Sound : 3
The sound is rich and smooth, but awful rich and smooth is still awful. Buzzing and rattling from who knows where.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
I wish I could rate this a zero, but they don't give me that option. The tuners are loose, and aside from replacing them, you aren't going to fix them, the neck wasn't warped, but the fret placement made it seem that way- high action in the 20+ frets, low action in the midrange fret, and just right action in the first 5 frets. The frets were also plated with a metal that wore away after the first couple of days of playing, so that they would CUT MY FINGERS. The fret board was a very, VERY cheap laminate painted black. And it was painted AFTER the frets were placed. Go figure.

Reliability/Durability : 1
Absolutely it would be a great guitar for playing live, and without a backup- as long as you were in the woods, playing for trees that don't grow anything they could throw at you.

Customer Support : 10
No need- they couldn't fix this with all the tea in China.

Overall Rating : 1
2. For $25, I really can't complain, but I will anyways. It just plain sucks. The finish is really pretty- its got some deep blue hue going for it, and it looks neat sitting in the corner. But that's about it. I really wouldn't even call it a good buy for the money. Yeah, your going to have to pay about $100 for a decent one, but if you're thinking of this as a good beginner guitar, do yourself a favor and don't. The $100 guitar has a much less chance of discouraging the learner.

Made in China. Laminated top. Very light. Unknown wood...ugly inside.

Sound : No Opinion
I haven't heard any other guitar yet, so I can't say much about the sound.

Action is ok.

You can not depend on it.

What company? What warranty?

Overall Rating : 3
It is my first guitar. I bought it because I wanted to learn to play guitar. I haven't got much money, so I bought this because it was the cheapest guitar in the instrument store and it was quite easy to play it. When I get better at playing and When I have enough money to buy other guitar, I will probably break it after playing some intense song!..

Chinese made all laminated dreadnought, neck connects to the (slightly undersized) body at about the 14th fret. Generic enclosed tuners. Seems to be made entirely of some light mystery wood, stained dark on the back & sides and 'ebonized' on the fingerboard.

Sound : No Opinion
For a cheap guitar the sound is not too bad, first 3 strings ring fairly nice and balance is not bad. Not much volume or resonance.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Set up was not bad, action slightly high, but not much string buzz. Intonation gets pretty poor at the abave the 7th fret.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It is made very solidly. The top is very, very thick and the bracing is substantial. Seems to stay in tune pretty well.

I've been playing for about five years. I spent 4 months doing grad school in Dublin and wasn't able to bring a guitar with. I needed a cheap guitar to practice with and this fit the bill perfectly; It stays in tune, the action is decent and the sound is not bad.

With a set up and intonated bridge this would be a good buy for a starter guitar. Unlike many cheap guitars this thing is built solid and could likely be passed down through many generations of beginers.
