Amazingly well balanced with responsive bass. This is a fingerpicking style guitar and does that well. I liked it much better than others up to $400. Cheap finish but who cares for $190.

Plays very well. I bought this new from a music store and they set it up well. Probably not so good out of the box. Cheap finish takes off a few points but who cares, this one's going to the beach.

What a value. If it falls apart in 5 years, I got my money's worth.

This a 000 size JG-035-N Johnson Herringbone series acoustic guitar. I believe it is made in Korea or Japan. The 000 size guitar has a smaller body and a slightly wider neck (1/4 inch)than a standard dreadnaught guitar. This model features a solid spruce top, Honduran mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, dovetail neck joint, ivoroid bindings, nickel frets, chrome tuners, Tortoise pickguard, Herringbone rosette and back stripe, adjustible truss rod, and lifetime warranty. It is similar in size and style as the Martin 000-28 guitar or the Alvarez Folk guitars. The slim neck and smaller body is favored by fingerpickers and those who desire a smaller guitar. The craftmanship and finish are excellent for a $150 guitar.

This acoustic guitar has a very nice full bright sound with good resonance and ring. Due to the smaller body, the bass is not as full as on a larger dreadnaught, but is still suprisingly good. It came with heavier guage strings installed which may affect the sound.

I purchased this guitar from an internet company, but the set up was perfect when it was shipped to me. The action is low and easy, the neck is straight, the bookmatched top is well made, and there were no flaws in the finish. It came with one strap button installed on the body and I installed a second one by the neck. It did have a small blemish on the binding which was very minor. It had a smell of glue initally, but it is disipating over time.

I have had this guitar for about a month so I do not have much information about durability, but I have not had any problems so far. I own other Johnson guitars and have never had any problems with any of them. I do not play live other than with friends, but it has always been dependable. Johnson may not be the biggest name, but I have had great success with their guitars and amps.

I bought this guitar through Great Music Products.com, 866-899-2233, and they were great to work with. This guitar has a lifetime warranty and the dealer says they will assist with warranty work.

I own an Alvarez RD20 dreadnaught, a Alvarez RC10 classical, a Johnson Longhorn JJ840 bass, Johnson JS800 Strat copy, and a Johnson JS900 Les Paul copy. I have taken up fingerpicking lately which is why I bought this JG-035-N 000 guitar. It is perfect for fingerpicking and sounds great. A dreadnaught works well also, but the narrower neck and deeper body are not ideal for this type of playing. I compared a number of 000 size guitars and found that this solid top Johnson was the best value. I have not been happy with the sound of laminated top acoustic guitars, especially in a smaller body guitar like this one. My Alvarez RC10 classical is very well made, but has a dull sound due to the laminated top. My Alvarez RD20 has a solid top and has an incredible large sound and is so easy to play. This Johnson 000 size JG-035-N is a great guitar and I would highly recommend it.
