Good information about this guitar is at Cheesy Guitars (http://www.meatexz.com/cheesyguitars/jolana_star5.html).
It has 20 frets, thin and compact solid body strat style, 2 single coils, volume and tone pots, a 3-position switch, simple tremolo and very simple bridge. Scale is short.

The pickups are single coils in big yellow (was white, but the time...) soap boxes. They have awful feedback but faint signal. The sound has more highs and middles than lows. And it's nasal. You can not find 'meat' with any distortion. It's better for blues, I think.

It was very hard to play live because of it's feedback. Pauses are not allowed :)
The neck is narrow but thick. Anyway it's not very comfortable for bends and for high positions.

Now I'm playing about 15 years. But this was my second guitar and it was great after the first one Soviet Solo II. I tried to play Star V with Boss Metal Zone, Korg AX1000G. But it was not my sound.
My favorite feature of this guitar is it's size. I mean scale and body. And the better name for this instument could be Start more than Star :)
It's not bad for a young beginner but it's just for START not for being a STAR.
