i love the sound its not like any other gibson guitar i have played its more twangy than a melody maker but more mellow sounding than a strat but on the whole its a very fenderish sounding guitar

wraparound tail piece makes the action very easy to adjust with a screwdriver or small coin pickup is great and has lasted almost 40 years

Made in the 1960's (69 i think) in Kalamazoo michigan. In the Gibson factory. It was gibson's answer to that "new" fender company.
One single coil, melody maker pickup and melody maker bridge.
Mustang type body.
Bone stock, very cool vintage.
Trade an Epi G310 for this guitar and a 60's sekova triple cutaway.
It lists out at 100-250.

I play punk rock and ska. With a vintage twist. So it friggin' rocks for that.
I play it through a line 6 spider 210, or a Line 6 pod.
It can be crystal clear or the heaviest distorted sound possible.

The guitar is basic and thats why its so awesome.
I got it cheaply because it has a physidelic paint job on it (mickey mouse painting smiley faces and peace signs). It give it a great character.

If this guitar has lasted almost 35 years...

This is a 1967 Kalamazoo KG1, 22 frets, single Melody Maker Pickup made by Gibson, 100 % orginal with it's stop tail piece, open turners and 60's "groovey" knobs!
I bought one just like this in '67, so when I saw it on e-bay, I had to have it!

This is a vinatge '67, Gibson put in a single melody maker pickup (which was low end at the time) It's a very clean sound, surf like, very Fender-like in out put, more like the old Mustangs, 34 olds old and still some what quite!

This KG1 sounds the same as it did in '67, this guitar line was Gibson's answer to Fender. Althought it has an SG body, the neck is a Fender look & feel. Thin "strat" type neck with the Fender headstock. Again, this is 34 years old and amazingly so, still holds up well. Stays in tune, what can you say about 34 eyar old paint, the biggest surprise is that this plays extremly well!

Again, 34 years old and still loves to rock!
