Mine is made is Japan, from the 70' (I think Kasuga only built guitars for a couple of years under that name, then produced Tokais guitars)

Its a gibson LP copy (black with several bindings)

The guitar is very robust, all the features of a Les Paul.

Sound : 10
It has a great, big, dark sound. Changing the pick ups improves the sound greatly (I put Seymour duncans on it)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Good action. Neck thiner than guibsons.
I particularly appreciate the mother of pearl inlays (they look great!)

Reliability/Durability : 10
Never had any problems with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Well, this is not applicable for old japanese axes...

Overall Rating : 10
Great guitar, as it is a very rare guitar with a name quite obscure, it is possible to have them for a very fair price !

Features : 10
- Kasuga Les Paul Custom "black beauty" (black veneer / three bindings)
- 2 humbuckers,
- 3 positions switch
- mother of pearl inlay

Got all the LP features...

Sound : 10
Sounds like... heaven.
Or at least as good as 3 times more expensive guitar.
Deep dark LP sound in neck position.
Kick *** "cutting" Gibbie humbucker type sound in bridge position.
Despite the bolted neck, it has a great sustain

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
- Low action
- Neck is straights as a die
- finish... well it's still in very good condition for its age (35 years old) so the finish had to be good...

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is my main stage guitar, I would not need any back up if it was not a stringed instrument...

Customer Support : No Opinion
The TM does not exist anymore...
Heard that is was somehow connected to Tokai however.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar is certainly not perfect.
But it tend to, considering its price on the second hand market.

In 1977 I bought a brand new standard Kasuga Les Paul Copy. I think it cost around $300 AUS. I sold it 1979. A couple of years ago I found a Custom version and paid $600 second hand. It is a blonde coloured wood and has intricate leafy carvings on the body and mother of pearl vine and leaf inlays up the neck.

Sound : 7
This Guitar has a full sound and with the treble slightly rolled off makes an excellent jazz sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
It's nice to play although it has one slightly damaged fret mid neck. Not noisy rather a clean full sound.

Reliability/Durability : 5
This Kasuga and my original one were quite robust for general usage and present no problems. To me it's a good quality guitar.

Customer Support : 6
Never had the need for parts for this one yet.

Overall Rating : 5
I use this Kasuga occasionally now for jazz type playing along with my big body Westone and use a signature Leo Fender G&L Asat for country and a RG750 Ibanez for rock.

The guitar was produced in Japan in approx 1976.
I have had this instrument from new and it cost $300 in 1977. The neck and body are bonded and the tone and sustain is excellent. Neck construction is rosewood and is very ornate with intricate mother of pearl inlay. The fitting are all gold plated although it is beginning to wear away.
Modifications have been few, the bridge recently gave up the ghost and is now fitted with a Gibson.
The rear (treble) pickup was replaced by a Di-Marzio super distortion pick up in 1979, this slightly improved the overall sound.

Sound : 9
