This Kasuga W- 13 acoustic guitar is like a Martin Dreadnought, and features the Martin squared off headstock. The label inside the soundhole states it was made in 1970 by KASUGA GAKKI.Could be Japanese as Nippon Gakki early Yamaha acoustics were.Twenty frets, fourteen clear of the body,Could be a Spruce top, but I reckon the back and sides are laminated Mahogany.Well built though as she is now 35 years old and still looks good.

Well this is the acid test and what all acoustics either excell or show their true colours.I bought this guitar on Ebay and it cost me ?85.00 including the ? 15.00 postage so for that money it sounds pretty damn good.It also had a Piezo pickup installed which wasn't mentioned on the Ebay item description. So I plugged it straight into my Marshall ASD100 Soloist and WOW it came up from a 7 for sound to a 9.The pickup being old has lost some of it's volume but with a preamp direct through a PA should be amazing.Like the guy describing the D25 Kasugs Dreadnought it is a little thin at the top end but good bass response and sustains notes well.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action is ok now but I had to file down the first fret as the neck must have a slight bow at the headstock end.The action is now pretty good up to 10th fret and easy to play with no buzz.Finish is great for such an old guitar that has had loads of use.The Black scratch plate is thick too which tells me quality was on the mind of the manufacturer.

Most definately yes, the guitar has lasted this long and looks like it will last as long again.I bought it as a back up to my Gibson Songwriter Deluxe for those gigs you don't wanner risk a ?1,500.00 guitar at.

Been playing 27 years and owned many acoustic guitar, I love the vintage played in look.I love the fact that it is rare and not many people out there on this planet are sitting writting songs on a Kasuga acoustic.I'll stick a picture of it on my bands website so you can see it along with my Gibson Songwriter Deluxe.www.underdogs.org.uk
