The year is unknown. The guitar has 22 frets wih a solid top. It has 2 Humbuckers, 1 volume control and 1 tome control that has a push/pull pot that taps the 2 H/B's. The pickups look to be Dimarzio's. Body is made of Hard Wood not Ply..type unknown. The neck however is great. It's a maple neck w/ the same grade maple as an Amer. Std. Stratocaster. It's a strat. body style with a fixed tail piece. Neck is thin with jumbo frets and Maple fret board.

Sounds great. Very versitile due to the coil tapping feature. A bit noisy when tapped for single coils but sounds range from deep and bluesy to mix cutting single coil highs.

Very sturdy instrument. Like the strats of the 70's. Only complain was a wire inside came undone but a little solder fixed it.

Great guitar. I only had the wiring problem but that could happen to any guitar. And again it was at the time about 15 years old.

I got the guitar 2nd hand, Kawai no longer makes guitars and you can't find any info on this model.

I've been playing for about 6 yrs and I won a 83 Amer. Strat., Epi. Les Paul Standard. This guitar can reproduce all the sounds of both guitars put together. If it were stolen I would curl up in the fetal position and cry. I love everything about it, No complaints.
