what year was it made? i don't know...i am trying to find out. can anyone help me here ?
it has 23 frets, and a lampnated top.
it has 1 three way switch, 2 volume, and 2 tone knobs.
i do not know what kind of pickups are in it, but they are the original ones. they look like humbuckers, but i am not [ositive if that is what they are.
it has a maple top(i think it's maple anyway), do not know what the neck is made of. it has a set neck, with a rosewood fingerboard, and dot inlays.
the body has a single cutaway, and resembles a les paul, but it's much larger. it is 2" thick, and 15" across the body at the widest point.
the bridge is a tricky one, as i do not know exactly what kind it is. it is large, and wraps around the side of the body. it also has a large chrome "w" in the center of it.
it has what appear to be grover replacement tuners.

the tone is awesome for playing blues and rockabilly. for a cheap guitar, this thing fills an empty void i have been searching for for years. i play it through a Rogue gb30 bass amp, with a little reverb. sometimes i use a danelectro slap echo box, and it really sounds 50's-ish that way.
the sound is rich and full.
i just love this guitar.

i bought the guitar used, and the set-up was ok...a bit high. a little adjusting, and it'll be fine. pickups were right where they needed to be.
it has a few flaws, but then again, i bought it used. the minor flaws are a dig here or there. there are no flws with the wood, or the factory finish. all flaws are from use.
Reliability/Durability

i do not know how reliable it is...i've only had it for a week, so far, it's good. i do not play in a band, i only fiddle around at home. it does not get the use that it would if i was in a band.

i need to figure out what the heck model this guitar is. it simply says "KAY VINTAGE SERIES" on the headstock. it also has a large "v" between the tuners. it is tobacco sunburst, and has a white stripe around the outer edges. the white has yellowed a bit from age. i do not know if this is an old kay, or a newer kay, i have been trying to figure it out. i could not find a date or a serial number. if anyone could steer me in the right direction as to where to look, i would appreciate it very much.
i bought the guitar because of it's incredible tone, and good looks. for a "cheap" guitar, this one sounds as good as any gibson.
please help my identify this guitar if possible. thanks.
i asked the dealer that i bought it from, and he said that it could be from the 1980's, but he could not verify it. he took it in as a trade on a new guitar. he did not have any information about it.
