I bought several of those guitars. Comparing them to original Gibsons left me surprised. The finish is all over better on Keipers, especially the laquer is better then Gibson's. The body is well done, good wood and precise worked. The hardware is junk, especially the tuners need replacement since the chineese units do not stay in tune and have excessive play and clearances.
I suspect Gibson to leave some of it's cheeper bodies and Epiphones being made in the same factories anyway.
The Humbuckers are of average quality and all Keiper guitars have same units. The neck is Gibson sized and the frets are excellent finished and need no rework.
Sound
:8
Sound is fat, bluesy but not enough high end for some music styles.
Humbucker replacement is recommanded to match your own musicstyle. I replaced the original factory unit on different guitars. One has been fitted with Seymour Duncan SH10, another with GFS 59 type and another with GFS mean P90 Humbuckers. It is recommanded to change the trimm pots as well since chineese electronic hardware is somewhat light built. The guitars, after changing the hardware are able to beat just any Gibson in soundquality and in sustain. Sustain is what makes this chineese wood a real bargain and I can say that I had seldom a btter sounding guitar in my hands. Buy a Gibson for investment and to hang on the wall ot to play music, that's a choice to do. If your goal is to get an instrument able to compete and even beat a Gibson for just a few bucks, buy and transform a Keiper. For 300 to 400$ you'r in the game. Can't get a cheeper high end anyway.

The factory settings are zero. Nothing matches, all it does is producing sound. The Tuners are all time off tune and replacement is a must. Use Schaller tuner and Schaller Kluson replacements only. Recent Korea made Kluson originals are allmost as crappy as the chineese made ones. For Kluson replacement, Gibson's can be used as well. Gibson Grovers need to relocate the holes for screws, so stick to Schaller factory tuners. Faboulus guitar, exept for hardware.

Solid guitar, nothing to say and to envy to a Gibson anyway, except for the hardware.
Customer Support

Bad customer support, Keiper is not answering most mails and it's just hard to get a replacemnt when an unit is shipped broken or breaks during transport. Packing is just anything in a light cardboard box that is not protected from hits or punches. Keiper guitars arer a bargain, the company is a pain somewhere ever you think about.

I do not play guitar at all, I just do tuning and hardware work on guitars since more the 40 years. I bought those guitars after having seen some ar my friends home. I saw right away the quality standarts of those guitars, in some way a Rolls Roye with a rotten enginge.
My recommendantion, buy as many as you can, change hardware and you're gone for good music, good quality and reliable stuff.
No other manufacturer, except those who sell those same chineese guitars like Stagg for example, can offer you a better instrument, not even at higher prices.
A Keiper with Seymour Duncan's and new tuners, pots and wiring will bring you to a total price of 450$ and this for a guitar that you will pay at least 10 times that price at Gibson.

Assambled in Germany 2005 - produced somewhere far east. Two humbuckers, one single coil,H - S - H 5way selector. Basswood body with maple neck. Floyd Rose Bridge, tremolo.
Sound

Fat sound with humbuckers. Gary Moore like. The singlecoil provides a twangy crunchy sounds (Eric-Clapton) which can be fattened up by adding the humbuckers (position selector 2 and 4). No noise. Super useable for gigs three guitars in one. The floyd rose tremolo looks like a fake rolex watch but works excellently. The strings are fixed which keeps the tuning forever. I will sandblast it somewhen to get the gold layer off.

Sounds AWESOME!!! great pu's. opened them up and found out they're dipped in wax... great sound!!! I play lot's of styles but mainly rock and blues. (btw, got a keiper 109RDS also. same guitar only a hollow body.. for the bluesier sound... also a great guitar)
Brige pu is very bright but you can get a nice woman tone. neck is great for rythem.. you can make m sound as dark as you want to... metallica goes great on this one

action is a little high, adjusted it, ran into a little fretbuzz.. took my file and solved that little problem. now with a little work it plays even better than my epi 8\ (probably should have bought three of these instead of this epi...) I read at the 109rds section (the guy with the green one) that he ran into some sticky paint... I felt it 2... I tookout the can of Commandant (car wax) and gave it a shot. now, when I used the guitar gloss on the neck... i go from fret 1 to 22 in record time... there were some other minor flaws but nothing i couldn't overcome. basically, change the nut, tighten the tuners and glue the studs.

I haven't yet used it live, it's my backup guitar, but i'm planning to give it try at the next gig. gotta tell you straight.. where i come from you rather take 5 of these to a gig then 2 gibson...
btw, the straps are kinda small but i changed them to straplock. oke, it IS a CHEAP guitar, but i hate to break it...

2 year warranty, but i've got good hopes for this baby.. don't think she'll fail on me within the first 5 or 6 years... think i'll run out off frets before that... ;)
