I got this guitar from an ebay auction after having carefully read a LOT of reviews. To some it may seem odd to buy a guitar youve never had in your hands before you buy it but for this cheap price i was very happy when it arrived. As its a Les Paul copy you get all the Les Paul features!

The whole guitar feels 'solid quality' and the finish is top notch. The blue used for this model certainly makes it stand out in a crowd.

Sound : 10
I generally play rock and for me this guitar is great. I use a Digitech pedal and a Marshall MG15CDR amp. This is only my third electric after having had (and still have) a Fender strat copy and another les paul copy many years ago. This guitar is far and away better than my others. Maybe its down to personal taste but to me at least the guitar sounds fantastic. The sustain goes on forever and is clean and full.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I changed all of the strings as soon as i received my guitar because i was advised to do so and i have to say that, as far as i know (remember im no Jimi Hendrix) everything else was in order. I cant give a 10 here simply because i dont know enough! However all seemed fine to me.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have now had this guitar for around four months and although i dont play live (yet!) believe me this guitar has had some hammer. The finish looks as good now as it did back then and apart from a badly scratched guard (thats what its there for!) it looks just as good as when i took it out of the box.

As ive mentioned the guitar feels solid and right. Hard to describe in words but when you pick it up you know that its not going to fall to pieces.

I bought this off ebay, new. My emails were answered promptly and politely by the seller Klaus. I was sat twiddling my thumbs for a few days thinking 'please arrive soon' and it did! Five days after paying i received a guitar shaped box with a very well packed shiny new blue guitar inside.

Ive had no call to contact Keiper since delivery. Which in itself says a lot.

Overall Rating : 10
I know this seems like a gushing review and if you didnt know better youd think i worked for Keiper. I dont. Im just trying to get across that for a very reasonably price (i paid app 70 euro) you get an outstanding guitar. Once again im not an expert, but ive played enough guitars to know at least that this is not a piece of garbage. I have another 'cheap' guitar and the difference between the Keiper and my other guitar is immense. I havnt played my old guitar in 4 months.

I play it almost every day and ive not had a single problem with it. I think the cheap price may put some people off, the same as the fact that you cant get to grips with it before you buy it but if youre after a back up or youre a beginner or even if you just want another guitar you could do a lot worse than this.

I love this guitar, both its looks and its feel. Having a decent guitar makes you want to play more and in the end makes you a better player. Im having a lot of fun making noise with my Keiper and i have no regrets at all.

Im very happy i decided to take the plunge and buy this guitar. If you do the same im 100% sure youll feel the same.

Les P**l Custom copy. Made in China, sold via ebay from Germany. Transparent blue finish. "Gold" hardware, rosewood fingerboard. Not sure of wood, grain looks like ash (just checked on the website and it is ash). Comes with allen key (for truss rod adjustment) and a lightweight cable.

Sound : 9
Got this guitar for a more rocky sound (my other electric is a MIA Fender Strat Plus). I can only compare it to my strat, which is a bit unfair for a guitar costing 50GBP. The bridge pup is muddier than the strat the neck pup is ballsier. I might try messing about with the pup height to see if I can get a bit more from the pups. There's plenty of sustain, and it reacts well to tweaking the gain up. Just the sort of sound I was looking for (e.g.Led Zep). The volume and tone pots work noiselessly and are pretty smooth.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Everyone says how bad the strings are, just take them off and replace with something to your taste. I had to adjust the action slightly to get rid of fret buzz, but it's a very pleasant 2/32" at the 12th fret (low E). I'd also say that the frets were a bit rough as delivered, but I just smoothed them off with 1000 grit wet and dry. The nut wasn't very well cut and I've found some tuning problems caused by the string sticking, it's not too bad and easily sorted with a needle file.

It's by no means a disaster as delivered, but I would consider setting it up as standard practice anyway.

Reliability/Durability : 7
The finish is fine. I'm a paint chemist and know about finishing. This looks plenty durable. The headstock is spliced in between the 1st and 3rd frets, not sure how much rough handling this joint will take, but I'm not going to be gigging, so I guess it will be fine for noodling in the house. It certainly feels robust

Customer Support : 10
I had read that the delivery wasn't the fastest. I was expecting a three week wait, and only had to wait 8 days so I was happy.

Had a small problem with a machine head (due to courier rough handling despite good packaging). This was dealt with promptly by Klaus. All communication was very courteous.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 25 years on and off. I've just got back into playing as my son is learning to play. I have a MIA Fender Strat Plus (due to vindictively clearing out a joint bank account during a break up!).

THIS GUITAR COST ME 65GBP DELIVERED!! You can't lose. It's obviously not the same quality as a Les P**l Custom, it couldn't be for this price, but it's a proper guitar not a toy.

My son is delighted with it and so am I.

I bought a Keiper LP Brand New on e-bay in March this year for 74.45EUR(#48.00) Maybe it was the colour, (Silver & Black sunburst)I don't know, but this one wasn't recieving many bids.
It came in a cardboard box with an allen key & lead 2 days later.
It is a realy accurate copy, the neck is very Gibson and the guitar feels right.
It has a solid Ash body with a mahogany or maple neck(as advertised, I can't tell which because of the type of finish.

Sound : 10
I am very pleased, I've played guitar for 47years and this one is as good as any of the 17 mid range guitars I've owned.
I play country/rock and find the tonal range more than addequate for this type of music and the sustain is absolutely amazing.
The amp I'm using at the moment is a Fender Champion 300 and I've got separate FAB Delay, Chorous and Distortion pedals, but I've also used the guitar through a Marshal amp too.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
I wasn't too pleased with the set up of the guitar when it arrived and set it up the way I wanted it myself without too much trouble, but for the price I'd paid I didn't expect everything to be right, set up to a great extent is a matter of oppinion anyway and also depends on your style. I prefer a low action and acheiving this was no problem, its neck is A1
I haven't noticed any inperfections to date.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I haven't played the guitar live yet but I use it every day for practice. It keeps in tune very well, even with a lot of string bending so I'm quietly confident. The hardwear seems robust enough too, everything seems solid but I think I would take a back up guitar initialy to be on the safe side. The finish seems quite durable so far but I do look after my guitars anyway.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I can only say that initialy I received immediate response to my questions, I have had no need to contact the company since. For the price I paid I'd look after any problems myself.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing Guitar for 47 years.
I also own a Honer LP and a Jackson but I've owned 2 Hofners a Framus 2 Fender Strats a telecaster Gibson SG and numerous unknowns, always wished I'd been better off then I could have kept them all to this day.If it were lost or stolen I would try to replace it but I might get a different colour I prefer to see the grain of the wood.
I love the feel of the guitar, it just feels right and its responsive.

I read mostly good reviews on these LP-copies so I bought one for 91? on e-bay (brand new). It came in a carboard box with a 3m-cable and a tool to adjust the trussrod. Don't expect a gigbag for this kinda money! It's a really accurate LP-copy and the neck is also very 'Gibson'. Of course this is something personal but you wouldn't buy this guitar if you didn't like the fat Gibson-neck, right? The company Keiper is based in Germany but they order the guitars from a Chinese facory. I bought another of their models last year (for a friend), but that 'superstrat'-model had "JJ" on the headstock. I saw te exact model on the Keiper-website. Same guitar from same facory. I read somewhere that you can have any brandname put on them if you order more than 6OO. This doesn't mean they're no good though!! Just that Keiper is not a manufacturer but only a seller.

Sound : 10
I was surprised. I've owned an Epiphone and that one didn't sound any better. I play it through a Fender 'redknob' The Twin and it sounds great for the 70's hardrock I mostly play (Nugent,Lizzy, old AC/DC,...). The standard pickups do the job, but maybe I'll replace them with original Gibsons or so, don't know yet. Since the guitar has a full mahogany body (most LP-copies don't!!),I think this would make it sound quite close to the real thing. It has a rich, warm, 'bluesrocky' sound as it is, and also sounds bright and full when played clean. I also own a Gibson ES135 and a Fender fat strat with a DiMarzio humbucker and of course they sound better, but with those pickups in the Keiper.... Anyway, I never had a guitar that sounded this good for even three or our times the price. Played clean it also sounds very good. I know someone who recently bought a Yamaha pacifica (for about 300?) and my Keiper sounds better and its fretboard feels much nicer to play on. I would rate the Keipers sound 8, but for a guitar in the pricerange up to 4-500?, it deserves no less than a fat 10. The mahogany body gives it a good sustain too; the sound doesn't die after 3 seconds.
Oh yes, change the factory strings rightaway though because these are just on there for show. This is a must! Do it first and then hear for yourself.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Facory setup was poor, but what can one expect for 91?? I think this is one of the points they save money on, like the cheap rubbishy strings ( a Gibson comes with Gibson-strings, remember) You have to put a little work in yourself here. I had to adjust the neck, action and intonation. It takes a few hours to get it all set up properly, but after that is all done, it's o.k. Just don't expect to take it out of the box and jump on stage rightaway.
If you start examining it really close you can find faults in the finish, but it are in fact details that no one would see from a distance more than 5Ocm. You wouldn't put up with it on your 2000? Gibson, but again, this one cost me 91?, so I find it more than adequate. It looked good on e-bay an it looked even better when it arrived. It's very likely that the paint-quality is not as good as Gibsons, so it'll age sooner (which I actually like).

Reliability/Durability : 8
I haven't used it live yet. I'm curious though because with that massive mahogany body it might keep its tune, maybe it then needs other tuners though. The hardware seems solid enough to me and I think the electronics will be reliable, considering the overall quality of the guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I can't tell you yet what it's gonna be like in a few years. New is new and at the moment (after a few months)it all still works perfectly. It's possible that intensive use wares them off quite quickly, some low-budget guitars do, but not all of them. Wait and see.
Considering that it's a good LP-copy I'm sure any Gibson/Epiphone parts can help you keeping it in 'good running order'.
It has a two year warranty but I don't really expect much from that. Buying a Keiper-LP may be a (small) risk on this point. But I can't really say for sure. Just hope you don't need it.
The only contact I had with Keiper were a few mails about a question I had and about the payment/delivery and that was all o.k.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm playing for 17 years and I've owned about 25 or so guitars from cheapies to a real Gibson. I buy and sell frequently, only keeping my Gib and Fender fat strat.I find it difficult to rate a guitar like this. I mean.... 91?, NEW. For that money I would expect a Les Paul-model to be only good as a piece of decoration in your living-room. So considering the price I would rate it at 11 on every point. But the price is its biggest advantage, because there are better instruments out there. It makes a fantastic beginners-guitar for almost no money. But I also think that there can be (big?) differences between several exaples so maybe I'm just lucky mine was more than adequate and there are people out there with really bad ones. I know this to be so with some other low-budget brands.
I would buy mine again. In fact I'm gonna buy at least one more, for this kinda money it's nice to have a few ones in different colours ya know!!
This guitar will cost you almost nothing and with some setup-work you'll have a more than average instrument that'll get you a long way. I think that with a few upgrades (maybe tuners, pickups,..) it can be a really good guitar, even then for a low amount of money.
Personally, I WILL buy more of them. If you have (had) different experiences with a Keiper LP-model, feel free to mail them to me.
