I have just bought two of these for stg.?100 each and I believe they are made in germany. The layout is the same as a typical les paul and the pickups are very good, certainly as good as epiphone pickups.the guitar feels good to hold and play.It was necessary to make adjustments to the setup and the guitar strings as supplied were poor, but once adjustments were made they played very well.some of the negative points would be the quality of the machine heads and the two piece neck also the varnish finish was not great.

Sound : 9
I play rock/blues and use a fender amp.and also a zoom amp. ,the pickups are ideal for blues and rock music.I love the sound of them.I did initally consider replacing them with epiphone ones but did not consider it would be any advantage as these are as good if not better.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
As I have already said I made a few adjustments, the nut needed to be moved side ways as it was not quiet centered and the bass 6 string was slipping off the fret board also intonation and string height were adjusted.

Reliability/Durability : 7

35 years playing guitars mainly as a hobby,I have had a gibson custom les paul and a gibson les paul studio also many us strats,
and at present I have three epiphones/custom,goldtop and joe pass
and two of these keiper les paul customs.I bought out of curiosity and because it was cheap and was so delighted that I bought another almost immediately and have since bought another les paul version.

This is the black and gold 113 model - brand new. I'm not sure where it was made. I got it on Ebay for about #70. I heard somewhere that they're made in China, but I can't confirm that.

Its a Les Paul copy so it has everything standard that you would expect. The neck is a medium D shape.

Include with the guitar was a lead and a hex key that presumably fits the truss rod adjuster.

I play rock and I was surprised at the range of sounds that this guitar gan create. It absolutely trounces my Epiphone Black Beauty and the bridge pickup is nearly as good as my Edwards LP, which has a Seymour Duncan JB bridge pickup. The front pickup is also quite good but not in the same class as my Edwards SD SH1. I had already bought a pair of these SD pickups ready to fit to the Keiper, but I don't think there will be sufficient improvement, so I'll keep them for another guitar.

The standard of finish is functional. If you look closely he metal parts are not quite as smooth as a Gibson or good copy. The rest of it is as good as my Epiphone apart from the nut, which looked a bit amateurish, but does its job OK.

The action was set a little high so I lowered it and re-set the intonation, tuned it and then I was rocking. No complaints at all. I find the neck very playable and it suits my smallish fingers.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar appears to be very solid. I can't really comment on anything else because its new. I don't see any cause for concern.

I've been playing about 3 years. I use a Zoom ps-2 palmtop studio for effects, as I play mainly at home. I bought the Keiper because I'm wearing out the frets on my Edwards too quickly and I worry about dropping it when I practice. I first bought the Epiphone as a workhorse, but I don't like the sound or the playability at all. The neck is too fat and wide for my hands. The Keiper is much more than I expected and I'm very please with it. The quality of finish does not come near my Edwards (which is as good as a Custom Shop Les Paul). However, the sound and playability are not that far behind for a tenth of the price.

Overall, I would say that these guitars are absolute bargains and you should get one while they're cheap. I've already ordered another (cheaper than a re-fret!)

i bought this guitar 12/2004.
because of the cheap price, i wanted a backup guitar. i was very surprised of the quality. 22 medium jumbo frets, set neck, 2 volume+2 tone, toggle switch, gold hardware with covered pickups.
the body is very strange, with glueing the top in a solid block... hey, but it works!!! binding in front and back, neck is very comfortable.

sound like a epiphone... a little bit more "freshy". the neck pickup is very good (for that price) and as good as epiphones!
i am usind different amps and preamps.
jcm900, h&k tubeamp, pod, fender hot rod, diezel....

the factory setup was not that good, i qould say 6/10, but i finetuned it and i got a very fine guitar!
the finish is very thin but good, so you should be careful with scratches and stuff... but-who cares - so its gonna be a relic ;-)
the bindings are very good(hope gibson read this!).

Reliability/Durability : 7
i will use this guitar live...
eventually i gonna cover the electrics with shielding paint.... but.. i dont need...
the finish would easy scab off, but i dont care!

Customer Support : 10
the customer support is very good.(from the dealer i bought this one)
the bridge pu was broken, so he replaced it with a new, original oacked epiphone one!
so i am happy

i play since 15 years. i use esp's, ibanez, fender and framus guitars.
if it was stolen, i would buy one again - i am thinking of buying an additional one for a another tuning! (chepear than korgs tuner ;-))
i love the original gibson body form...
i wish it has a better nut - but i gonna refinish it!
