i love the tone on this thing! i play in an alt/country band, with heavy western swing and honky-tonk influences, and i can get a fat, jazzy sound from the neck pickup, and a twangy, bright sound from the bridge pickup. i changed the pickup selector to a pan pot, and dial in a variety of sounds. i play it through a 70's fender vibrolux reverb.

the guitar is at least 35 years old, and i bought it in a pawnshop,so it neede some work,-fret dress, nut filing, etc. i spent a bit of time adjusting the pickups with great results. there were no side dots on the neck, so i made some. the pickup selector was loose and in the way. it was missing the fake pearl dot at the 5th fret. the pickguard screw at the point of the cutaway was never installed (no hole drilled-oops!)

it's a tank. the perfect guitar to brain a drunk biker who wants to hear sweet home alabama and won't take no for an answer. thick, durable finish, solid bridge. the only problems were the pickup selector and the crappy tuners. i gig with the guitar with no backup

i've been playing for 33 years, and have had alot of guitars. this guitar just seems to suit me. it sounds great for what i do, is comfortable to play, and nobody wants to steal it. i also play a '46 gibson southern jumbo, a '41 epiphone zenith, and a weber yellowstone mandolin. i would deffinately buy another one just to have a backup. the only thing i want to do is put a bigsby on it.

Well I really have know idea where or when it was made. (it was at least made in the 70's) It was my uncle's (who died in 1974) and so i have it. I ANYONE has any INFO on this I'm very interested. This guitar has 22 frets with a rosewood fretboard. It has one volume knob and one tone knob, and a 3-way selector. It has two single coil frets with no type of id on them. The bridge pickup is tilted a little. I have no clue on the body or anything. i think it's alder though. The bridge style is a tele style. Dont know what kinda tuners except that they are non locking. And the neck is fat. I'm not much of a tele type of guy. ;~)

See, i play grunge/punk rock and it really doesn't suit that style of music. Although I can get some nice feedback and distortion outa it, i'd rather not use it for that kind of music. I'm using a Crate GX-65 and a Boss DS-2 turbo distortion with it and like i said I can get some nice feedback and distortion out of it. The sustain on it kinda sucks but i put up with it anyway. It stays in tune pretty good though.

Everything on this was good when i got it in 1992, but maybe when my uncle got it.......who knows. The only thing i can think of that is a flaw in this catagory is that the "tone" knob is a little loose. Although I fixed that with the tightening of a wrench.

The head and some of the body is chipped, but that's my fault. Ummm....other than that it's pretty solid and durable guitar. no problems. I would take a back up to a show though. jus incase.
