k2sb model. same as the k2 model except with a sunburst finish.
thin bodied (3" at the deepest point), electric like neck.
it's all laminate. spruce top, mahogany/nato back and sides.
rosewood fingerboard. gloss finish.
comes with an under saddle pickup and 3-band eq. active (requires a 9-volt battery).
includes 2 kona pickguards, you can choose which to put on, or put on neither and leave it without like me.
i paid $75 more to get a kona hardshell case made specifically for this guitar.
i'll give it a 9 since it has everything it needs.

unplugged:
for an all laminate guitar with a body 3" at the deepest the sound is surprising. it actually sounds good unplugged. it also has a good bass response in my opinion. i wouldn't have expected that. it sounds better than a lot of guitars at least twice it's price i'd say. i did replace the saddle with tusq. i also found that elixir polyweb custom light strings sound good on this guitar after experimenting with some different strings. of course every guitar is different and we all have different preferences..
plugged in:
you can definitely get a decent plugged in tone with the stock electronics. i wanted to try something different with mine though so i took out the pickup when i replaced the saddle with a tusq one, and disabled the preamp. i'm using a lace california acoustic soundhole pickup with it. that pickup doesn't sound as good as the stock pickup through the acoustic amp i had but i'm thinking it'll sound great with a vox pathfinder. i love those amps. yes, it's an electric amp but it has a nice bright clean sound that i really like.

if you buy one of these i'd recommend taking it to someone who knows what they're doing for a good inspection and setup if needed. that being said:
the factory setup on the saddle and nut was alright. i found that the truss rod needed a pretty big adjustment though so they're going to lose a point for that. but honestly, no matter the price i'm not surprised to have to do some setup work on any guitar i get to get it to my preferences. i do my own work..
the guitar looks really good. they did a great job on the sunburst finish.
the intonation was noticeably off on the low e string. i shaped the saddle to compensate for that though and improved it.

the guitar seems to be well constructed. i can't find any flaws there.
the tuning machines on the one i got were a little rough for my liking though so i replaced them with grover rotomatics (they fit right on since they are about the same shape and the mounting screw goes in the same place). i got them from stewmac.com for about $30. those tuning machines work great and have a lifetime warranty.
also, the back to one of the original tuners had come off during shipment. these are made to come off as needed for maintenance, but i've never had one off before. especially not fall off.

i'd say for what i paid it's a good deal for sure. there are guitars costing at least twice as much that are not any better than this guitar, and plenty that are worse i'd think.
just make sure to have the guitar inspected and setup if needed if you get one. with that taken care of, this is good deal.
