The sound on this guitar is amazing good for the price. I had my guitar tech switch out the stock nut with bone. The low tones are a little muddy, sort of dead. I really notice it when I play it against my Guild F47. The mids and highs are fine. It could be that the low E and A strings are pinching in the new bone nut...not much sustain on those 2 strings. The plugged in sound is very impressive and the 3-band EQ is very responsive. The cable jack does not double as the strap button, which is a plus. Volume control is positioned in a place that makes it a little awkward to adjust on the fly.

As the previous reviewer noted, the neck was a disaster on this guitar. No relief whatsoever. My tech had to put it in a jig for over a week to get any relief. I'm using .11s for strings so I'm still not getting much relief despite major truss rod adjustment. Action is now nice and low but borders on buzzing in places. Fret levelling was required on upper frets. Tech replaced plastic nut with bone. May replace saddle later to help with muddiness. Finish is flawless. Tuners seem okay. For the money, amazing craftmanship. Really nice inlay work in fretboard. Looks like a much more expensive guitar. One thing I dislike is the oblong sound hole design which makes it difficult to anchor my hand when fingerpicking.

No pickguard so strummers will see some wear. Strap buttons are top quality and tuners seem good. I would not take it out without a backout but that's just common sense. I would gig with it. Plugged in sound rivals G-Series Takamines for a fraction the cost. Appears to be well-built and rugged.

No idea. I bought this one used on Ebay and it shipped in unplayable condition. The former owner had shimmed up with small pieces of plastic under the strings...yikes. My guitar tech barely got the required relief in the neck, leveled the frets and replaced the nut. No idea about warranty info.

Been playing for about 30 years. I'd buy it again for the price I paid. Wanted a cheap backup guitar for gigging and one that I can use for outdoor and boat gigs. This one fits the bill.

Very bright sounding. EXCELLENT blues, jazz, country and folk guitar.
The tone is very well rouded from bass to mid to treble and like I said, bright. I love a bright acoustic. Great for playing lead and even classical on.
It should suit AND more importantly, please, any style player

Let me first start by saying whoever setup this guitar should be strangled!
The truss rod had been tightened to dangerous proportions and the bridge saddle was boosted up higher with some kind of plastic insert.
This was easily fixed but man was that truss rod scary the way it popped when I broke it free!!!
With some forward bow on the neck and the saddle lowered now the action is awesome.
No buzzing and my action is almost as low as my electrics. It could easily be lowered a bit more too without any trouble.
The finish looks beautiful but close inspection you will see it's not perfect. For the cost though it's no big deal. There are no bad spots in the finish or anything but it's more about craftsmanship of the finish.
Appearance wise though it is a very beautiful instrument.

It seems very solid to me....not like you want to go dropping an acoustic though or anny guitar for that matter.
The first one I sent back for some very minor, minor flaws. There was a nick at the neck joint in the front and the fret binding had been overpolished in a small area.
The tuners are solid but could be better.....at least they are diecast. In time they should feel more responsive I'm sure.
The strap buttopns are both in ideal spots.
Not much to say here. It should be very dependable.

I've only dealt with fat city music and Kieth has been great.
Honestly I don't know anything about the warranty other than I do believe it has one. I can't find anything on the Kona site or the purchase site.

I've been playing for 9 years now.....3 of those years were so intense they should count for 6!
You can not buy a better guitar for the money. From features to performance to pricetag I don't see any other way to go.
If you are working with a tight budget look no further. If you simply don't want to spend a lot for such features, look no further.
I would purchase one opf these again but likely the next model up that has a pickup and solid black finish. I bet a lot more goes into their craftsmanship.
I compaired this to a few low priced Washburns, Jasmines and assorted other big name brands but this was the winner hands down.
For these features from Washburn or Gibson or whoever, this would AT THE VERY LEAST, be a $650 guitar......though I wouldn't spend this much on it. In 5 years I would say that will easily be it's value granted it holds up.
My favorite features are how it plays, looks, and souds...so everything! I wish it had a pickup but that's it.
Now I really hate to give it such high marks being all 9's and finally a 10 but for under $200 this is too good to be true cept it is. If you have a thousand dollar or more whatever, this is a great addition for when you want to spare your high priced prize.
This was a great investment. I'd recommend them strongly to begginers because this is a lifetime keeper. They are at the very least worth checking out for the pro and very advanced players.
