This guitar suits me very well. I am somewhat confused as to why I don't have a plywood body and everyone else does. Also, I have a solid neck. The is no luthier's joint or 3 piece neck like the Kramer website says it should have. My Kramer weighs no more than a standard strat. So with that being said, the guitar is a great instrument. I played it last night in a gig. I played it really damn hard and it stayed in tune with out a glitch. I didn't like the pick up switch config. So, I modified it to work with one pick-up switch.
What is the big damn deal with the Floyd II's. Nice design and you don't have to trim of the string ends or use an allen wrench to re-string it.
Maybe I got a good one that slipped through the cracks with quality parts, craftsmanship, and woods.

I'm not sure in in what year this guitar was made, but I guess it would be in the early 1990s. It's probably made in Korea. It has 24 frets, a laminated top.. There's a volume knob, two tone knobs, a 5-way pickup switch and a 3-way coil tap switch.
The pickup configuration is S/S/H, and when I bought it, there were "Seymour Duncan Designed" pickups on this guitar, passive electronics.
It has a plywood body, the fretboard is made of rosewood.
The finish is sort of metallic red (very nice). The body style is something between a Stratocaster's and an Ibanez RG's. The bridge is a Floyd Rose II (with locking nuts of course), the tuners are Kramer tuners.

Sound : 6
The way I bought it, this guitar suited my style within acceptable range. The pickups weren't magnificent, but they weren't so bad either.
I used a Mesa Boogie amp with an Alesis multi effect, but later I switched to Lexicon effects.
I replaced the pickups with some DiMarzios, a Pro Track in the neck position and Steve's Special in the bridge. The bridge humbucker is tilted on this guitar, so it sounds slightly different then on a standard humbucking position.
With these pickups, the guitar has changed into a great-sounding tone machine. I was amazed by the amount of sustain and tone you can get with a plywood body, if you have the proper pickups.

My rating for this category with stock pickups: 6
My rating for this category with new pickups: 9

I don't know what the factory set-up was (I bought it used), but the store's set-up was pretty good. I adjusted it to my wishes and it was set to go, with great action.
The guitar didn't have any major flaws. The frets were filed well, but they probably need replacement in a couple of years, because they're getting a bit flat. But it still lasts.
The finish has some dents, but it can hardly been seen. Just don't throw with it and it will survive.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I think this guitar would withstand live playing, without a doubt. But it would be wise to get a back-up, just like with any guitar, unexpected things could happen.
Hardware seems rock-solid, finish seems hard to wear off. The few scratches and dents that there are, are hardly visible. Just maintain and polish it and it'll look great.
I immediately replaced the strap buttons with strap locks when I bought it. These are very solid and reliable.

I've been playing for 4 years. This was the first guitar that I bought, and it still suits me. I'll never find the same guitar if it were stolen or lost, so I'd probably go for my favorite brand Ibanez then.
I like the guitar's neck best: great action and tone. The Floyd Rose II is quite relibale in my opinion. The last broken string I had was a long time ago.
I only wished it had a basswood body. Plywood isn't my favorite type of wood. But when you find the right pickups, you can get incredible tones from this plywood body.

My overall rating with original set-up: 7
My overall rating with new pickups: 9

This guitar really stinks of 80's looks. White, formed a mix between the Jackson Soloist and a stratocaster, 22 frets, S/S/H config, over a 5-way strat switch, which works excellent. The neck is medium-thin, like a mix between the RG and a Gibson, ideal for my playing. The only bad thing about it is the floyd rose, and a terribly old model too (sucks).

Sound : 1
The humbucker is... not good. No tone, way too much bass, no middle, and no treble. I want a lot of bite in my guitars, but still humbucking sound, so I've installed a Gibson 490 in it. Works better, but too little bottom punch. The single-coils seem to have a rather soft, toneless sound as well, but REALLY low output. Solution: Remove them, go for Texas Special or Vintage noiseless.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I bought this guitar used, and the one who owned it had just left it in some closet, it needed about 3 hours of fixing before I could begin shredding. But what a guitar it is... The neck is just perfect, except for some minor cracks at the bottom frets, which I think can be solved with some lemon oil. The tremolo is, as mentioned, f**ked up. No big deal...

Reliability/Durability : 5
It seems very solid. The electronics will probably need a change, but everything else seems quite good. Have not had it long enough to get an opinion.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Since I work at a music store, I mostly fix all things myself. Don't need any support...

Overall Rating : 4
At first, I'd give it a 2. But after fixing it, a 4. But... it has potential for a 7-8, with the right pickups, new electronics, new tremolo and some fixing.

The Kramer 600ST stock comes with the S/S/H pickup configuration and that is originally what attracted me to this guitar. And of course at the time I was a beginner so I couldn't tell you the difference in guitars. It had the Floyd Rose II tremelo which most don't care for but it's really not that bad. Just keep an extra 6-E string around cause heavy playing will break this string easy because of the odd saddles used on the Floyd Rose II. 3-Way pickup switch and 5-way tone selector. Pickups on the guitar stock are pure crap and I mean CRAP! Maple neck that is the main reason I kept this guitar. It's a beauty! Plywood Body but it looks great. Just resonates bad.

Sound : 2
Out of the box this guitar sounds terrible. I mean awful. The pickups are the main reason for this but the plywood body doesn't help. If you love this guitar you are gonna have to give it soome help. I put some Seymour Duncan pickups on this baby and it sang like a canary. Just a hint of advice but try a Li'l Screamin' Demon on the middle or neck and listen to this guitar rock!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Great action on this guitar. The neck feels awesome and is spaced perfectly for me. I especially like having the three different pickups and the switches both tone and pickup. The neck is the pride and joy of this guitar and had it not been for the junky body this would be perfection action-wise!

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have only had the guitar for about three years but it has been perfect for me. But keep in mind I made modification early on to this guitar so I can't really be objective about the stock model. My advice...get a new body and an original Floyd Rose Tremelo and you will have perfection!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with Kramer customer suppost and since they went out of business it's not real likely I will : )

I have played for three years and I have four other guitars (two of which are over $1000.00 guitars) and I still like my Kramer baby best. I did buy this guitar stock and had the body replicated exactly in Alder wood and bought a beat up Kramer Pacer at a pawn shop for $60.00 that had an original Floyd Rose Tremelo on it and I had that put on this guitar also. I also had three Semyour Duncan pickups put on it including: Little '59 - Neck, Li'l Screamin' Demon - Middle, and a George Lynch Screamin' Demon - Bridge, and it sounds KILLER! If you want this guitar be prepared to spend some money to make it sound great. Otherwise you will have a very bad sounding guitar and looks great! Don't pay over $130.00 for this guitar though. Great look, great feel, but terrible body and pickups. And don't let people scare you away from the Floyd Rose II. Not much difference in it and the original but the saddles. Not that big a deal if money if s problem. Overall I love this guitar but I had to work and spend money to get it at professional quiality!
