i like the sound. sounded a bit s####y at first. i like to keep it simple. only use it in one position. has two pick up switches which make it sound c##p. only ever play it in one position. Can really get some pick harmonics with the single coil it screems. sounds as good as my ibanez. the humbucker aint bad either. been using it with marshall stack and peavey profex 2

got it second hand had to set up myself. kept goin out of tune lots but is okay now. although its not a problem there is a huge gap at the neck joint between the neck and the body. about 2mm.

will play live with this. built like a brick s##t house. apart from the delicate brittle head stock. seems to be design problem with most pointies? would use at gig without back up. bought guitar off ebay strap buttons are bent out of shape have british royal mail to thank for that. cant beleive their always on strike its not like they actually try very hard. the head stock was also broke by some miracle was able to glue it back together. broke it again a week later trying to impersonate steve vai in a david lee roth video!! need strap locks!!!!! think i bust my nose too.

been playing well over 10 years. have fender strat, ibanez rg, washburn n2 this is by far my favourite. cant stand those pussy ibanez necks. they put your hand in an impossibe position. to give it a damn good seeing to you need leeverage. you will only get this with a chunkyier neck! bring back old kramers. i do not however like the rose wood fret board. makes the strings difficult to see when your drunk and when the strings are all cacked up. every rosewood fret board ive owned seems to fade after a year whether i clean it or not. would miss it if it were stolen coz apparently its rare. even if it aint worth much. worth a lot less now thanks to those waisters at the post office!

two Kramer Barettas III, Neptune N.J., no SN# on the neckplate. The first with a thick black Poly-Urethane coating on the body, and an ebony fretboard, the second with a thin red laquer coating and a brasilian rosewood fretboard. Possibly these were prototypes for a new 1990 line of american or japanese Kramers that were sold during the close out sale after the old Kramer company went belly up. There is a red 'W' stamped on the back of the neck, and a green dollar sign written on the body in the neck-cavity. If anyone can provide me with more information, please feel free to contact me.
Specs: 22 jumbo frets, three piece maple neck, pointy headstock with white binding, Diminishing size Kramer logo (not Kramer american). Schaller tuners, lock nut. Schaller Floyd Rose, Schaller strap locks, Schaller humbucker at the bridge(13K), Schaller singlecoil at the neck. Tone and volume controls, three way mini-switch for PU selection, three way mini switch for HB mode (series, coil tap, parallel).

The Schaller humbucker delivers a great 80ies rock/metal sound, the singlecoil has a nice clean tone. All other sounds and combinations are not too impressive or usefull. The red guitar has a 'warmer' sound, the black one has a bit more 'bite' to it.
I play: Ibanez TS10, Digitech DSP256, Laney GH-50 valve amp, Marshall VS40 and Pod II.

I bought both guitars used, so I cannot comment on the factory set up.
The action can be set very low, this was supposed to be the ultimate 80ies shredder machine. Hardware is of the best quality, finish quality is excellent.

Except for the paint-job on the red one, these guitars are built to last. Would i gig without a backup for these two guitars? yes, certainly!

The old company went belly-up in 1990, so no rating here. The new Kramer by Gibson people do not seem to be very helpfull or interested.
