For it's price, the 4SSD's features are outstanding.

Only those who are about to rock need apply.
The guitar sounds pretty bright and it resonates well.
Plugged in, the quad rails are powerful but a little muddy - great for distorted sounds.

The Guitar came well set up with a low action.
Offensive yellow colour, an flawless and durable paint job (but with a slight cracking where neck and body meet).
The kramer floyd is a bit crappy in comparison to an original. The tremolo bar is huge and clumsy,

Depends on you - if you're reasonably careful with it, it'll do the job, I doubt it could take much rough treatment though.
2 years later, no chips or scratches to speak of and the parts are holding up well.

Been playing 14 yrs, have a strat plus, ibanez sz320 and a kramer pacer custom II.
A superb beginner's guitar or a fun second/practice guitar.
For the cash this is a great guitar - way better than a squier or anything else in up to twice it's price range IMHO.
Bear in mind this is a bargain guitar, and with guitars you get what you pay for. Unless you buy a gibson or fender :)

Made in Korea, 1999 (?).
24 jumbo frets
solid alder
volume, tone with coil-tap, 5-way selector switch
S/S/H configuration
Licensed Floyd Rose bridge
2 single-coil sized dual rail humbuckers at neck and middle position and 1 humbucker-sized quad-rail at the bridge. Those pickups aren't exactly duncan JB's, but then again, they're not pure shit either.

i sat down the other day and compared this guitar to my MIJ contemporary strat (S/S/H configuration on that one as well). The FR-422 gets a kind of muddy sound from it's pickups on clean and I personally would like a more single-coilish sound from the neck pickup.

the action would need some work i think. This guitar was shipped from Holland and i haven't had a tech look at the neck of this one yet. Once i get that done though, i'll probably get rid of some string-buzzing.
other than that there isn't much to complain about. Actually, i have found nothing to complain about. But then again, i wasn't buying an expensive guitar.

I definitely think this guitar would manage some live playing. some people state that licensed floyds will always be crap unless it's Ibanez edge tremolos, but I don't agree to that. Maybe if you constantly do dive-bombs and abuse your whammy you'll wear it down enough so that it won't stay in tune, but how many of us do that? i sure as hell do not, and I haven't had any problems with my guitar going out of tune after a few dive-bombs.
I've never had a backup while playing live and I doubt i would need one using this guitar either, but then again, you can never be too sure. I'd bring a backup in case a string breaks or something.

They (musicyo.com) were very helpful before i ordered my guitar but once I had the gtr in my hands, they didn't seem to care. Still, they were quite helpful in the beginning and i've heard of much worse.

I've been playing since I was 9 years old. that makes up to 13 years of playing. In my posession I have one MIJ Fender Contemporary Stratocaster, one Kramer FR-422S/D and one Kramer Baretta from 867/87. My amp is an old TOA 50W which is really not supposed to be a guitar amplifier. To help me with distortion and stuff I have a Korg AX30G.
When i got this guitar I was looking at used ibanez rg's as well. The reason I didn't get one of those is that I wasn't sure i'd get what i wanted if I got a used gtr.
If this guitar was stolen i'd look at something else. I have 3 guitars right now and it would be fun to have something that is different from those.
At the price I paid, it's a good guitar. maybe even great. at the price. it could be better though, if price was not a concern. Better pickups would be nice, but that's all.

It suits hard rock/metal perfectly.
I use it with a Crate GFX-212 amp, and it purrs nicely
Not noisy
Great distorted sound AND clean sound
It has great output but i could use some more bite!

The action was high at first, but easily adjustable.
The pickups were just about perfect.
Everything was put together beautifully. No ripples or anything. Great color selections.

This guitar WILL stand playing live, but would recomend having a backup because of the string changing problems on a FLoyd.
Hardware is durable, and feels solid with the exception of the selector switch (feels a little flimsy).
Finish is beautiful and durable (i have the red metallic finish)
The strap buttons are nice and solid but a little large.

It doesn't come with a warranty that i'm aware of. But for $169.00 who cares? But MusicYo is very friendly and helpful.

Its a great guitar for the price. Easily worth $400 or 500. Great deal, don't pass it up. Especially if you're on a budget! I only wish it came with some EMG-81's in it but for 170 what can i expect?

I play 80's metal and rock primarily and this guitar was seemingly built for this genre of music. Incredible sound ! I use a zoom GFX8 as my effects processor

Had to lower the action a little but otherwise it came set up very well. Tremelo pops back into tune no matter what I do to it. After putting a set of .09-.42s on it I had to rebalance the tremelo but that was very little trouble

I have been playing for a little over 20 years. I bought this guitar for parts but was so impressed with it I don't have the heart to take it apart. It has become my practice Axe, the one I sweat all over and totally abuse in general but it keeps right on bouncing back. I would most definately buy another if this one were stolen. The best value I have run across in ages!
