Got the guitar in 2002 i believe. Its made in Korea and the pickups are Seymour Duncans. You get one vol. and one tone knob with the push/pull coil tap and a three way toggle switch.Tune O Matic with stop bar with Gotoh tuners. The body is similar to the Gibson Double Cut but less bulky. Well Anyways, its a pretty standard guitar with quality parts, the bridge and the tuners being one of the best features on this guitar. Ill get to the action in a bit.

This guitar has an very wide variety of sounds(thanks to the Push/Pull coil tapping). The Seymour Duncan pickups themselves have lots of good tone and output but it all depends on taste. I use a Johnson Millenium 250 Head into a 2x12 vintage 30s cab. Ive played this guitar through Marshall type settings to Mesa sounds and the guitar does pretty well in each situation.
Ive tuned this guitar down all the way to Bb and A it growls really nicely. Done some Slayer songs and the guitar cuts really well for this type of music. The guitar is well suited for metal of any type.
The guitar sounds really well on mild overdrive for bluesy type songs and for any of you ska head the guitar sounds really articulate and precise.

The action when i got it didnt quiet fit the 10's very well so i swapped it with 9's and it did the trick. The action is pretty low but not too much and the neck feels really nice and is easy to play. The only problem really was that the neck pick up was a little too high and was actually touching the string, but i adjusted it and was no biggy. Everything else was in good shape. The finish on the guitar is pretty good (transparent blue). Really Nice!

The guitar would be good for live playing i have dropped it a couple times already and its still in perfect condition. It stays in tune fairly well but theres nothing wrong with re-tuning anyways.

Overall its a good quality guitar, i mean its not like holding a PRS or anything but it is really seems a lot more than what u pay for. If u can find one, pick one up. If u like tuning down low but dont prefer a 7 string then go with this one. It would have been nice to have 24 frets. Ive played everything thru this guitar including NIN, Slayer, old Korn (1st and second CDs), 311, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, etc. ( not to mention going off a playing some Strokes songs for the hell of it). This guitar is well suited for many types of music.

I like to play rock music... sometimes punk rock, sometimes vintage rock...
I have a tube amp and a hybrid tube amp, and most of the time I play in stereo through a 3030 pedalboard.
Just plugging it into the amps I was impressed... The sound from the all tube was cleaner and more defined than any of my other 5 electric guitars. Distortions work well too.. feedback is controlable. SOunds nice and rich in HB mode, when coil tapping is used, it gets much more jangly... works quite well... here's how Seymour Duncan describes the pickups in it...
The JB Bridge Pickup
SH-4/TB-4 -- A completely balanced coil configuration produces great harmonics and a high output with just the right blend of sustain and distortion. You get the best of both worlds: from sweet warm tones to raw rock 'n' roll. Combine this with the (SH-2) Jazz Neck and you've got Seymour's personal favorite combination.
Pearly Gates Neck
SH-PG1/TB-PG1b -- The original custom Pearly Gates? pickups were wound for the famous '59 Les Paul? Standard that defined the raw, rebellious sound of Texas blues rock. Essentially a variation on the Patent Applied For sound, the Pearly Gates sound is sweet, but slightly rude, with great sustain and a bright top that make harmonics jump out of the guitar.
Whatever it's worth, The sound is great right from the start... I guess it's not a screaming metal sort of guitar, but it really reaveals the playing... very accurate sounding.
10 because of the price. There's premo aftermarket pickups in there from the factory.

Ok... this was a blemish model... after examining it carefully, my guesses on why it was marked blemished are.... either... a jagged finish line, the gold hardware being a bit tarnished, or both... either way, 200$ was marked off for what is pretty insignificant.
When I initially held it I thought it felt light.. I expected it to weigh more for a solid body... the neck is quite slim also. I like the slim neck guitars, but sometimes they have a bit too much flex and it messes up the tuning... I did not experience that here. tuning is stable, intonation was set correctly, finish was nice, with the exception of a slightly jagged line and minor tarnish. Initially when I plugged it in, I thought it sounded a bit blah.. and the strings looked a bit dull.. so I changed the strings and oiled the fretboard... much better. Sounds wonderful and doesn't buzz with a fresh set of 10's on it. Locking tuners are wonderful. Looks to be well assembled.

These finishes normally wear quite well, but you can chip them if you are a bit rough. Gold hardware will easily tarnish, and or rub off to reveal a chrome look. This always seems to be the way of any I've had with gold hardwere. I think it's a pretty dependable guitar, but I havn't owned it long enough to be certain. Considering the build quality, we should be fine.

It's a 5 foot beauty.. (looks great from 5 feet away)... sounds dynamite, plays easily.. At this price point, go for it. The Nightrider Kramer model is great too.. better sound, same feeling from this one. Standard pro whups a cheetas ass.
