goofy bass inspired by the art of Ed Roth. These are made in China, but are now out of production. it has one "lace" p-bass pickup (which upon closer internal inspection is nothing more than a crappy chinese-made piece of unshielded junk). I replaced the pickup with an EMG select. the electronics consist of two identical tone knobs, and one volume. why? I dunno, I guess they thought it looked cool. the neck is a nice fenderish profile maple with rosewood. the frets were finished and dressed well, but I had to use a fret leveling file for a few uneven frets (that were fully seated, but too high).the g string was also too close to the edge of the fingerboard, so I had to fill the nut slot and re-file it to the left a little. the neck needed to be shimmed. the finish is black with an "RF" logo and some flourescent green plexiglass for pickguard and headstock. shielding paint in cavity, but I added foil to back of cover.

sounds terrific-nothing to complain about here. full, twangy, authoritative, quiet (even with stock pickups)

crappy-see above. buy this and either hope for a good one, or be prepared to do some fixing and adjusting.

at this point, it probably will hold up fine, but it's not exactly built like a tank either.

they emailed back right away, but these are out of production and I would doubt that they have extra parts.

I've been playing bass for 30 years. I also own a rick, ebo, newport, longhorn, jazz, p-bass, harmony h-22, eastwood rocket, etc.
before i bought this I wish I had asked "is this a piece of crap?"
if lost, buy again? no
I love it's looks and it plays well, sounds good.
I wish it had a hidden stash of hundred dollar bills.
Anything else you'd like to share?: YES-I rock!
