all solid guitar made in germany by the lakewood guitar company in 1996. engelmann spruce top with east indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fretboard and lakewood gold-tuners. wonderful wood bindings and few but beautiful abalone-inlays around the soundhole. rosewood bridge. the neck plate is bazilian rosewood and the bridgepins are so as well. original superb lakewood/hiscox case, which is supposed to keep this guitar safe.

i do lots of different styles, mainly pop or rock strumming with some flatpicking, i use a not to hard pick and my strumming is medium to heavy. this guitar sounds amazing, whatever you play. sure, it sounds best when picked, but it ist warm and gently with strumming too. i own martin, taylor, stanford guitars and played several years and checked lots of guitars. this is the best sounding guitar i??ve ever played. period.

i bought this guitar used so i can??t say anything about the action, when it came right out of the factory. when i got it, the action was far to high so i did some truss-rod work and the action ist allright. the guitar is not as easy to play as my martin oder taylor is. the neck is a bit clumsy but for me this is ok. maybe newer lakewoods have a thinner neck but this one is ok too. i would give the guitar a 10 in this category, because the finish and the quality are wonderful and of a quality far beyond a "9".

the guitar is a trinket. i am only using it for home-playing, but it would surely do a good job on stage too. it seems to be build for both livingroom and touring.

lakewood is great. the answer your mails quickly and friendly. i don??t know if they also do a good job in repairing for i??ve never dealt with them in a concrete repair-case. but i would guess so.

i??ve been playing for about 9 years and own a few highend guitars. this one is the best of all. the sound is both, intimate and big, crispy and full. maybe i will have a pickup installed someday, but i guess i would never play my other guitars, except my martin d-28, which has a bit more style when heavy-strummed. for rock ??n roll the sound of this guitar seems to be a bit clean, but who care?

I have played classical guitar for 7 years, and I did not find an acoustic guitar I liked until I played this one.
