1993 Made in Finland. 12 frets clear. Solid cedar top, B/S Rosewood, can't tell whether solid or not. Mahogany neck, smooth tuners. Rosewood bridge and fretboard. natural finish (lighter than satin - more like rubbed finish. Very solid, nothing fancy

Sound : 9
Surprising sound. Has nice full bass and resonant mids. Treble is very pure, with less sustain than bass and mid. Overall a very rewarding sound with a woody richness.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Bought used, action was high, but plenty of saddle to lower it. Usual nicks and scratches for a 12 year old guitar. Really solid feeling but light.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This is a very well-built guitar. Braces aren't anything fancy, the whole construction style is simple, clean, and minimal. But the guitar is solid and should take a lot of use without changing. The finish is unusual. The whole guitar is just the natural wood.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea

Been playing for nearly 50 yrs - mostly fingerpicking ragtime, folky, funky stuff. My other guitars are all steel-string - Gibbson j-45, Lowden 0-32, Martin 000-15S, Kazoo kg-14. All great sounding and unique guitars. The Landola is a keeper. Started with classical 50's and its nice to come back to after all these years. I wanted a guitar that sounded good enough to stick with and found it.

This guitar was made in 1989 and its the only guitar that I ever bought that played "straight outa the box" Its made in Finland and the Landola Company have perfected a way to prematurely age the wood by drying it slowly at high temperature, they call it "Thermo wood" when its done and their guitars made with this thermo wood dont have to wait to sound good with age...they sound great already. This is a classical guitar with a spruce top, rosewood back and sides and a mahogany neck. The fingerboard and bridge are also rosewood.

Ive been playing classical for 20 years and I bought this guitar as a spare, but as soon as I started using it,I was amazed at the tone and resonance, and after fitting new strings, the guitar positively sings. When I play a dark moody piece, the guitar sounds dark and moody, and when I play a sweet little aria, its a sweet little guitar.
My friend plays flamenco and bossa nova and cant keep his hands off it when he comes around for a night

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar oozes quality, its well built and solid as a rock, nothing flimsy and everything is as it should be.No messy glue marks,or misalignment, the tuners are pearloid and smooth to use.The woodgrain on the top is tight and the rosewood grain is beautifully figured on the back and sides. The body is bound front and back and the bracing is scalloped. Its a well balanced instrument

Reliability/Durability : 10
Its been played a lot in the last 10 years with no probs, and Ive almost forgotten that I have other guitars....this is my favourite.
Im sure it will last a lifetime

I emailed them once and found them very helpful...its worth having a look at their website to see how their guitars are made

Playing for longer than I can remember,Im so glad I found this guitar as they were quite rare at the time and the shop only had one on demo so after about 45 mins of trying other guitars of the same and higher price I chose this one......I went in to spend $500 and came away with a much better guitar for $300!!I have since found another one and I alternate them so one wont get too used...both sound the same.If you play classical or flamenco to intermediate or higher this is a good one that wont let you down
