have used it only with elixir medium strings, but what a sound. Good base, and I can really play it hard when the party is loud. I love to do fingerpicking on it

I have a Landola D85, made in 2000. Flamed birch back and the sides are flamed maple, bone nut and saddle, top made of solid sitka spruce, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, satin matt finish, measures 645mm, dreadnaught.

I love this guitar! I was looking for a guitar for an accoustic for quite a while and was just bored with everything I was trying. But, one day someone put this fat blonde baby on my lap and I played an Em and I was hooked! My first words were "Have MERCY!" The sound is incredible. It projects a very rich, bright, and round sound. You just fall in love with the thing. You can just barely hearing my voice when I sing along and that is probably a good thing!
The only drawbacks I can see with this guitar are minor. It is hard to get a shoulderstrap on it, and it's so loud I have to scream to be heard over it! After 6 years of playing it, I am still very very happy to have it and I feel honored it puts up with me!

The guitar was tuned to perfection by the factory, in my opinion. The action is perfect for me, but I think that is because I hated my last guitar so much and I love this one so much! the tuners turn like a hot knife thru butter. It is flawless....of the highest quality workmanship. A thing of beauty.

The only drawback, as I said, if you are going to play live, is that it is hard to get a shoulderstrap on it. Plus it's got a large body so you need some space! The finish is incredibly (surprisingly) durable. The tuners are quality. This guitar screams "quality" in fact. I would definately use this guitar on a gig with no backup..in fact I think you would probably end up backing IT up! You may not even need a pickup for it!

Customer support if excellent..the Finnish People are known for this. I have not tried to get it repaired cuz even after 6 years it is still perfect.

I've been playing the guitar for about 35 years now. I am really a violinist and I play in a symphony orchestra (amature) so of course I have 3 violins! I have a Goldstar Hearts and Flowers 5-string banjo, etc etc..lots of instruments hanging around. Before this guitar I had a few others not even worth mentioning. I play this one so much I can't feel the strings of my violin after!
I wish someone has warned me about how I would become addicted to it! Entire days have passed in the blink of an eye! Plus, the dreadnaught body is so large that it is uncomforatable sometimes....I'm old!!
I dont think I could ever use the word "hate" in the same sentence as this guitar. What I love about this guitar is it's bold rich perfect sound and it's lovely blondeness!
If this guitar was stolen I'd pack a backpack and go in search of it and spend my entire savings trying to track it down! OR, I'd sell my body to science...I'd buy the same thing again!
I compared it to 10 other guitars at the same time. From the very stiff and unnatural feeling of an Ovation...to a Martin. It was a gift so I know the Martin Dreadnaught was too expensive, so I got this one!

Newest dreadnaught from the Landola stable in Finland, yes Finland.
Flamed birch back and sides. What a shape, dreadnought style 6 string accoustic, I'm in love with this blonde!
As usual with this accoustic you will need to figure out how you are going to fit a strap.

Listen to this!
You won't believe your ears. Volume is excellent and tonal quallities are up to standards of three times the asking price.
Bright trebels and forceful bass. All I ask for an accoustic.

Set up was quite good but spoiled by a fairly high set up. No I didn't go back to he retailer I asked the manufacturer what could be done.
The finish is silky, which enhances the light woods of this model. It even feels good. Boy am I in love with this blonde!

This baby will see me through to the gri reaper. I just need to keep hold of her.
I must admit that the finish seems a bit more fragile than the standard plastic gloss you see all too much in your local store but then I intend to be a bit more carefu with this one

TEN out of TEN.
I suggested by e-mail that the action was a bit high and got by return three different sadels to try: problem solved!
Definite 10 out of 10.

Value you won't believe!
If my girl were stolen I would have interpol on the case immediately.
Oh and I ain't telling you where I live since that increases the chances of her being stolen.
Get a life, get your own D85!
