This particular model is a 22-fret, strat-style Lotus, metallic blue finish, with white pick guard and three single coil pickups. It also features a Floyd Rose tremolo, five position switch, volume and two tone controls. I have rewired the PU configuration so that the neck and bridge single coils are activated at the same time when the switch is in the down position. One click up turns on all three pickups. The middle position is for the middle pickup only. Fourth position is the same as third. Fifth is inactive. I only wish I had humbuckers! The weight of the guitar leads me to believe it was constructed from an old boat anchor.

The pickup configuration and weight give this guitar a phenomenal sound. I run it through a Danelectro Cool Cat outputting to channel one on a 5-channel mixing board. From the 'stereo out' jack on the Cool Cat, I run through a Zoom 505 programmable pedal to channel two. This way I can have an acoustic and electric sound with whatever effects I want at the same time, all governed by the mixer. The Zoom 505 has a little too much noise for my taste so I'm looking for an alternative. Output is through a Peavey Bass amp! Pretty unconventional, huh?

The only thing that keeps this guitar from looking new is the worn covers on the pickups and the scrapes on the pick guard.

I'll be playing this Lotus live on Sept. 1, 1999 with all the effects mentioned above. With the Floyd Rose and strap locks I am sure that it will get the job done. However, only a fool gigs without a backup rig. I'll take a Peavey Predator along just in case.

The guitar was used and I traded a left-handed Mexican Fender Strat for it. I am in the process of trying to contact the company for more information. If you have any on this model, please share!

My favorite guitar of all time is the Peavey Tracer, but this is a fine guitar (if you have a strong back to wear the thing!)
