LsL is a new company in California under the direction of Lance Lerman. I discovered their guitars through the internet. At the moment they exclusively produce telecaster type guitars as if they are vintage specimen of the year 1952. Guitar bodies are made of light swamp ash or sugar pine. My guitar is called "May" (each guitar has its own name given by Lance!) and is swamp ash butterscotch blonde, with a black pickguard, maple neck, 21 frets, and LsL pickups.
All hardware is aged by hand. Nitrocellulose finish. It weights 2.6 kg. It is all handmade but at, in comparison to major brand custom shop guitars, a very competitive price.

Sounds incredibly good both unplugged, on low gain amps settings and high gain amp settings. Sustain is very good, and feedback from the amp on high gain is very nice soundwise and very controllable. Turning down the volume knobs doesn't muddy the tone. The tone knob produces useful sounds even when turned all the way down. If I had more time I would go on praising this guitar. The most satisfying for me is that the neck is quite fat and in comparison all my other guitars now aren't as attractive anymore simply because they no longer feel right.

A 7.25 inch neck radius is hard to find these days, but this was the original spec for teles and strats until 1956 or so and really feels much better in my opinion. Somehow I have no problems bending notes at all, there is never choking of the sound, one of the often cited reasons for increasing neck radius. This 7.25 inch radius combined with the fat neck itself just feels very comfortable for chords as well as (fast) soloing. The finish is very nicely aged, looks almost as a real vintage 52 tele. The set-up was perfect upon delivery, which never happened to me before. The light body is comfortable playing, my Les Paul is now very heavy in comparison... Like all teles the three piece saddles are original spec and there is some loss of optimal intonation in theory, however the way it was set up gave me all notes accurately upto fret 21 for all but the lower E string, which is off my some fractions very high up the neck - nothing to do about that if you use the original bridge system, but surely something I can live with.

Incredible value for money, and furthermore, just incredible value. If you are a tele players, you must check these out, they may be the only tele guitar you will ever need.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with LsL instruments, I just discovered them on the internet. There are some nice video files.
Have never felt this good - thank you so much Lance Lerman.
